I'm SOOOO fustrated at this website for not being able to give 0 out of 4.

Musicians-in-your-city is the worst website ive ever come across in my life. I mean seriously. Lol ive never written a review on anything or knew that this kind of site existed but im so glad they do so i can save anyone else the waste of time that i had trying to use this site.

- First of all through the registration you have to agree to all these silly things otherwise your account will be DEACTIVATED! (oh the horror!) I've not done anything yet and they way they are talking is so strict its like trying to sign up to the FBI's central intelligence mainframe.

- then when signing up you will out the WHOLE form and get to the comment section which is about 150 Characters long. However. Here are the rules...

ATTENTION:
It is not allowed to enter any contact information, such as name, phone number, email address, band name, homepage, links, manufacturers, age, date indications or pad characters in the comment field. Failure to observe these notes will lead to deactivation of the account.

You play several instruments? Create a separate 'introducing' entry for each instrument!
Do not indicate what you are looking for in the comment field
Details about your band, e.g. band experience, stage experience,
Band membership, band instrumentation are not allowed in the comment line!
These details will be displayed automatically provided that you have registered your band
If you are looking for musicians, go to 'musicians entries' afterwards to create a new 'is looking for' entry
If your band is looking for musicians, go to 'band entries' afterwards to create a new 'is looking for' entry

Indicate your aims in music
Indicate for how long you've been making music
Indicate what type and style of music you play or want to play
Indicate whether you're a beginner, amateur or professional

-> Please make your comment interesting and meaningful to others
-> Important for producers: create an additional entry as soundtechnician/composer/arranger (if applicable)!... After 8 or 9 attempts after it telling me i can't use words like 'Group' or 'Rehearsal Room' or even forward slashes i gave up and just put 'Recording Studio' only for to to tell me it MUCH be at least 50 characters! :O OH NOES! So i just put multiple full stops... only for it to tell me I've use TOO MANY CAPITAL LETTERS! I used ONE!... god knows what it would think of this post... or indeed their own rules section...

The Cherry on the cake on this one is everytime you click submit, it takes you to the next page to wait to tell you that something is wrong... and THEN when, inevitably, it is. The back button doesn't work! So you have to fill out the whole form again!

How anybody is on this sight i don't know!

ALL I WANT IS CONTACT DETAILS OF MUSICIANS LOCAL TO ME! How they have managed to make this so hard is mind boggling! After 45 mins or so on the sight having got nowhere and no contact details I've given up...

REMOVE THIS SIGHT FROM THE INTERNET FOR THE SAKE OF OUR SANITY!

Peace..

SUPPORT from Musicians-in-your-City

NO SUPPORT, NO CONTACT.

STAY AWAY = SCAM!

This site has to be one of the worst I have ever used. Totally illogical and impractical (it was made by Germans for goodness sake!), it has no redeeming features, seems to have deliberately been made badly and hard to use. Registering was harder than that of a bank.

Now they have deactivated my account. I think this is a scam website. I will be challenging them for my money back. I have never in my life encountered a bunch of cretinous idiots like this and I will say to all STAY AWAY or they WILL TAKE YOUR MONEY AND RUN!

Can't even contact them to complain. Will consider legal action and reporting to EU on top of everything else...

Great! Now I find that PayPal seems to protect them and won't help me dispute the annual feee, for which I have recieved three days of use.

If you are interested in helping me sue these bastards and get them shut down, please email me at *******@gmail.com

I will be writing to the local MEP and launching an official complaint with the EU.

Please support me, I am sure you have had the same treatment. I am a highly technical and competent PC/web user and am sure that this site is a total fraud to extort people out of the ir money. PayPal's collusion is also noted!

Rage!

First up the positives
October 5, 2009

First up the positives - I DID manage to contact a couple of musicians through this service so it is not a complete waste of space for the £15 it cost to register - but the subsequent behaviour of their "support staff" has lead me to warn potential users away from them.

NOW - the negatives -
1) The layout and mechanics of the site are clumsy, over-complex and hard to understand - it's got some stupid rules such as having to register as a band in order to contact an individual musician - cumbersome and unwieldy - that would be annoying enough on it's own but...

2) Unhelpful and unbelievably arrogant and high handed attitude on the part of the "support" staff - as a result of the crazy way their site is set up, I had to break the above rule in order to get in touch with an individual who I then went on to record with (I made it perfectly clear in my entry what I was doing so as not to mislead any other users). Result? I was blocked out of their site and issued with a demand to pay THEM a "handling fee" of more than £10 to get un-blocked! I regard this as a form of theft and there is no way they are getting another penny out of me for their petty and high handed attitude.

3) After getting blocked out by their "little-hitler" support staff there is no way in which you can contact them to make a complaint other than pay up their £10 unblocking fee - as I mentioned, there is no way in hell I am paying them as their behaviour in blocking me in the first place was unreasonable, high handed and morally (if not legally) questionable. All I did was find a way of getting round their clumsilly designed website in order to contact another musician and as a result they blocked me out, effectively robbing me of the services which I payed for up front and leaving me no course for redress other than to warn off other users on a website like this.

Conclusion? - well, as mentioned previously, I DID manage to get in touch with a musician I was looking for BUT only by bending their stupid rules so that I could navigate round their clumsy website design (the guy I got in touch with totally agreed about the unwieldyness and clumsy design of the site). Their reaction to this was draconian to say the least - resulting in one p*ssed off musician being effectively ROBBED - I paid good money to use their service and I think I deserved better than to be denied the facilities paid for up front when my minor transgression was a direct result of the crappy and confusing website design I had to put up with for my money.
The website owners will claim that what they did to me is perfectly legal and all listed in their terms and conditions - personally I didn't have the time to wade through this weighty document when signing up (who does?) and trusted them to have the integrity one would expect of an inocuous service such as this.
Well - I was wrong to trust them and I would urge other musicians to look elsewhere when trying to contact other musos through the web - there's got to be better designed sites out there run by people who will not effectively rob you blind under the pretext of some obscure rulebook.
