HORRIBLE DISHONEST INEPT NIGHTMARE OF A COMPANY
June 17, 2022

A HORRIBLE DISHONEST INEPT AND UNPROFESSIONAL COMPANY. STAY AWAY!

A Nightmare. I hope that everyone thinking of hiring these hacks reads this and goes to another company. Here's the short version: February of 2022 we move our household from the Bay Area in California to our new home in Los Angeles. We hadn't found a new home yet so the plan was to store our belongings in 8 "vaults" in their storage facility in Irvine California.

First Day: 2 guys packed, next day 2 trucks arrived with 4 movers. Terrible packing, precious, fragile framed artwork and photos thrown into boxes unwrapped with no protection, paint thrown in WITH CLOTHING. Badly wrapped mattress, upright piano moved without proper equipment, NO INVENTORY. NONE. The last piece loaded was a one-of-a-kind rare piece of a movie set from a very famous movie that my wife designed 25 years ago. A 6 foot 150 pound mass of styrofoam, wood, plaster and paint. It was carefully wrapped and we watched it loaded last. The movers took the two trucks to Irvine and kept it in storage for almost 3 months as we searched for a home. At the beginning of May 2022 we purchased a house in Los Angeles and we called for our belongings.

Two trucks arrived on move in day with 4 movers. Seemingly nice guys. The bottom of the driveway is tricky and SHARED with our new neighbors. The movers (Ramon) assured me on the phone that the trucks would be delivered in a high rise truck. We stayed at the top of the driveway as they struggled a bit to get up. Nothing negative was said. Truck unloaded, piano moved, no straps, just brute force and luck. No damage. Things seemed normal. 2nd truck came up but we couldn't see past it. Unloading is fine although most boxes went in the wrong place because of the lack of labels. We chat with the movers, give them pizza and water AND we give them a really substantial tip. Seriously big. Seriously big mistake.

I'll try to be briefer: Later our neighbors pointed out damage to their driveway. Tail of the truck left deep gouges in the cement. An entire panel of the driveway was ruined. In addition a HUGE trough was dug into the road AND into our paved driveway, and a section of a low brick wall on our driveway was smashed. Some of the bricks were hidden under bushes. NOT ONLY THAT but they took cement blocks that were stacked against our neighbor's house on THEIR PROPERTY, put them under the tires of the truck, and used them for traction. They hit a tree and ran over plants beside the driveway that are now dying. Mind-boggling ineptitude. Horrendous work that they were very aware of and tried to cover it up. This was ALL witnessed by our State Farm Insurance agent who was waiting at the bottom of our driveway and who talked to them about rethinking their strategy as it was happening (not to use the bricks that they kept replacing as one crushed after another under the weight of the truck). They told us nothing about the damage.

There is also surveillance video of the entire affair. Every moment was caught on camera.

The rare movie memorabilia? They found it but took days to tell us that it was damaged. They finally delivered it in 3 unrecognizable pieces. Destroyed. Ruined. Once worth 5 digits at auction now garbage. Endless phone calls and emails later they sent a nice fellow (from San Diego 2 hour drive) to repair the damage. It was done in an acceptable manor but the paint on the driveway mismatched the rest of the driveway and the worker left. He did what they hired him to do I guess but they didn't say that the paint had to match so it's still not finished. I was never told who was in charge. Never told anything without threatening them with legal action. I believe the owners name is STAN. They protect him so I'm saying STAN. Your company is terrible. You made our lives miserable and your staff are horrible at their jobs. I can't stress enough how I urge everyone to stay away from MoveCentral. As it is I'm paying for the paint job. I'll bill MoveCentral and if they don't pay I'll take our pictures and video and eyewitness to Small Claims Court. That should be fun!
