I am very impressed with Mountain Crest Gardens! I ordered a set of different succulents, 3 gallons of Bonsai Jack® Succulent & Cactus Soil, and also pots for my plants. The variety of succulents on the website is impressive, the reviews are very good too, so I took my chance and never regret it. The succulents arrived in perfect condition and were well-packaged to prevent damage during transit. The pots were also high-quality and stylish, adding a nice touch to my home decor. The soil provided was of excellent quality, which is important for the health of succulents. I appreciated the clear care instructions provided with the order, making it easy for me to maintain my new plants. I highly recommend Mountain Crest Gardens to everyone!
I ordered pastel color theme 25 for $54 and spent my $$ my time researching, taking interest, designing my theme (short stubby landscape with pastel color which won't be a tall order of things) and ordering it after giving a good thought. But these crooks have to mess with the entire order. Except for a couple of stuffs rest all were overgrown ugly bunch of crappy plants! Not only they don't match they are not the variety at all what they show in the picture! Deceiving effing crooks! To top it all I had to shell out another $15 to send the package back to those buttholes! This is what went on; plz read and save yourself and some big ticket disappointments ME: Regarding my order, I got completely different set of tray I`m so disappointedwiththis. I was so excited about this order. I cross checked my order again what I ordered was pastel succulent tray of 25. I got some thing else! Attaching pic of the order that I received. This may have 1 or 2 of the variety of pastels but the set looks completely different than what I have ordered. I need a full refund for the same. Also I need shipment label to send it back to you. MCB: Per the product description for all our collections, stated under What You Receive: "Colors and varieties will be similar to photo, but may vary depending on the season." We pick plants that match the theme of the collection, but the specific varieties vary year-round. ME: Entire order will be different you mention it. You don't want specify variety thats available currently then all thats waste for me as I have similar ones already. Also you dint mention what will be replaced with what. This is $#*!ing nonsense to me that I have bear the returns cost for ordering from you. Its a worst ever experience in the history of my purchase! This will definitely make it a point in my reviews. Thanks so much so nothing! MCG: As stated on the website, the specific varieties are chosen by us. The photos are an example of the types of plants you will receive. If you have specific plants that you would like, we always recommend purchasing them individually. After burning my dreams and interests to ashes this is what I said to them! To match the pastel them you guys dumped some random crap in my package. Returning it immediately! The reviews are going to be included for all the pain I got in this 1 shipment! Worst in the history of my online shopping! Ever! Get a crappy version of bunch of misplaced items and then pay for shipping it back on my own expense! Karma repays in future! For sure! Karma is a b@#$&!
Plants arrived in perfect condition, small plants in 2" pots, which makes handling them quick and easy upon receipt; the way most Sempervivum specialty vendors supply them is bare-root dry in paper bags, which requires hours of tedious work to get them cleaned, potted, and top-dressed, and labeled. Compared to other Sempervivum specialty vendors that ship bare-root, you will receive about double the quantity of plants, both mature hens and good sized chicks, with those other vendors, as compared to Mountain Crest where 1 plant ordered is one small plant received. When receiving Sempervivum, if a single plant flowers prematurely, it dies (because they're monocarpic) and one depends on chicks to be in existence to keep that variety going, thus receiving one small plant does pose a risk that it'll flower after receipt and die, without yet having a chance of making chicks. For that reason I gave the "Value" rating only 4 out of 5 stars. The plants, while small, are strong and well rooted, growing in a coir fiber medium, which is better that the dreaded peat medium many growers use, I expect they'll grow just fine once "unleashed" into the garden. Highly recommended.
Tip for consumers:
I had difficulty using the web site, where certain functionalities like "Subscribing" to a plant for notification when it's ready and the Wish List, would not work for me from any of several computer devices. I spent the time working with the good folks at Mountain Crest Gardens sorting through the issues, they worked with their web developer to ultimately correct the glitches.
The plants I received are very healthy but are super tiny. They look good after I re-potted. They lost most of their soil through shipping.
All the plants except one arrived in good shape. Hope the sad looking one will survive... but over all, I'm happy with my purchase! :)
I ordered 9 different soft succulents (mostly rosettes) and for the most part Im happy. Shipping quality was excellent, packaging was suburb, and most of the plants were in fantastic condition. My only complaints are that the Graptoveria Debbie was not recognizable as a Debbie to me and seemed to be in rather poor condition (multiple leaves had come off in shipping - not common leaf loss but It seemed more like a water issue so I cant use them to propagate) and very few leaves were left. There were also quite a few plants that were unrecognizable next to their photo on this site. Im aware all plants have differences that make them unique however plant and leaf shape as well as being in the same color genre should usually be expected. Overall I would definitely recommend them (I already have) and I now have 9 healthy happy plants.
My plants arrived well-packed and in good condition. I had a difficult time choosing among so many plants. I will keep treating myself to a few plants and give them as gifts.
The plants were all great, and they got it to us a little early when we requested it. Great service. I would rate it 5 stars except that we we received only 195 of the 196 plants that we ordered - one succulent was missing from its spot in the plug tray.
All the sempervivums looked great. I was a bit disappointed I got two that were the same but they are still nice. The little missy sedum had a bunch of dead leaves and looked pretty sad but I'm hoping it will perk up soon.
One of the succulents arrived damaged. All the others were in good condition. Shipment arrived quickly.
