Conducted my own onsite sell. Read all the instructions, even if like myself you're aware of how to conduct live auctions successfully. Once you get the hang of completing the catalog, it's all pretty much good to go from there. Just remember to save each entry before proceeding to the next. Everything went pretty smooth during the customer pickup following the sale and afterwards, payment was prompt (much sooner than anticipated). Overall, the Maxsold support was fantastic, from start to finish. I'll be using their service as a repeat seller. Like any auction, remember the benjamins add up at the end of the day, so don't be too disappointed if some items don't go for high dollar. Biggest benefit was having such a breath of fresh air when you look around and see how much space was created following the sale...one less storage unit to pay rent on. Enjoy 😊
First time seller and multiple technical issues such as: - Date I picked for pickup was not the date given to purchasers - Reports online differed from reports received (kept telling me one lot wasn't paid for online) - No instructions on what to do if lot isn't picked up - App DOES NOT link to a sale you've started - Uploading photos was a challenge Reported to Maxsold and basically told to bad. They only addressed the first issue and said a confirmation email had the same date as the purchasers despite their online system showing the data I had chosen.
I love the ability to browse auctions to find items unique to my circumstances and then refining my bidding to win the item. The follow up pickup procedure has been perfect 9 out of 10 times. And for the 1 unpleasant pickup experience, Maxsold had recourse paths to resolve that experience. Maxsold offers a safe environment for bidders.
Tip for consumers:
Refunds are available but only with extenuating circumstances and limitations.

There are a bunch of good things and a few bad things about MaxSold. Overall, you can generally get great deals whether or not you're reselling, furnishing a house or just looking for items to put in your house. The pickup experience can be good or bad depending on the team that is working and whether or not it is a partner-managed auction or MaxSold-managed auction. There are often mixed requirements about masks. Customer service can be tricky to work with and they offer no flexibility on pickup times once the pick up is scheduled. Overall, it is a pretty good experience.
Using MaxSold was fun and relatively easy. My only disappointment was that I originally signed up for MaxSold managed sale but ended up having to do self- managed one instead due to unavailability of a team member. However they did put me in touch with someone locally who helped me for a fee. I probably would have netted a little more with a MaxSold managed sale. The process is very quick. They live up to the timeline they promise. A much easier and economical process than an on-site estate sale. The buyers do most of the work and the next thing you know, your house is empty! I enjoyed it!
Item was dirtier than looked in photos, with quite a bit more lint and dust and stuff stuck to the exterior than you could see in the pictures. But was expecting to be giving it a good cleaning and service anyways, so not a huge deal. Just may have worn gloves and an older shirt to pick it up :)
I've bought a lot of stuff from Maxsold. I've had problems with just one item. Won the auction of two stock tanks for $30. One heck of a buy! When we went to pick them up, only one was there. When I research what happened, I found that one item was listed in two lots, so by the time we got there, the other person had already picked up our item thinking it was included in their lot. All Maxsold did was refund my $30.
I have spent many hours searching MaxSold auctions near me... bought many items for my home. From furniture to art work... I recommend this site to everyone... but maybe I should keep it to myself. LoL...
I've bought lot of things through Maxsold auctions over the last few years. Generally I feel like I got a great deal... it all depends on who else is bidding that night, sometimes you are really lucky, sometimes not so much, but generally you aren't overpaying. The app is straight forward and bidding is easy. Adding an option to receive a text reminder would be good for items you are following, I've missed items I wanted to buy because I just forgot. Overall it's great to have an option like this, in an area that has very few antique shops anymore.
I Absolutely love Maxsold! It is addictive to get so many great items for such a low cost. The Maxsold staff are friendly and getting rare gems from estates would never be as attainable as they are with this company. The process is very smooth and organized making it easy to bid and pickup your items.
The biggest issue I have is with the lack of descriptions and this is the reason I pass by without bidding on a lot of items; it's so frustrating. 1) failure to list the dimensions and identify which # is associated with the width, depth and height (not always easy to tell from a picture). 2) please describe the colour - hard to tell when it's not a very good photo and a colour may look completely different on one computer than another. 3) using the word "untested"; do you not think you would get more money if you took a second to plug in an item to see if it works; or just be honest and say not working or that it worked when last used.
The directions were easy to get to once there the signage was big enough that we did not have to search and then it was in a clean location and there were enough people waiting so that we did not have to. We have been bidding on MaxSold since the beginning and we have never been unhappy.
Maxsold has a smooth process and some great finds are available. Maxsold is a great company and I enjoy being part of their community.
Been using Max Sold for quite awhile now and have had no issues. I called the help line to ask for an extension of pickup, they called the vendor and it worked out perfectly. I've found it easy to use, pickups are relatively easy.
In Maxsold you can find a variety of super interesting objects, apart from its operators will guide you to find what you need
We had a downsizing sale and prior to this my wife and I thought we could tackle my parents lifetime of buying and collecting. So wrong - met a fantastic rep named Kelley G at a networking event. A few months later her team showed up, catalogued everything quickly and efficiently over 2 days. Had the sale a week later and cleaned house. The extra cash was a bonus. Great job guys!
Maxsold is a wonderful, low traffic, online local auction you can find plenty of cool things for cheap. I do wish they had shipping/delivery services, or at least hire sime muscle to help put things in my car because i'm a small personbut i suppose you can use lugg for that (use my referral code L******* for $10 off). Overall it's fantastic! For example, i attached a photo of a sweet lamp and a desk i got for a good deal :)
I have been looking for dining room chairs for at least two years and could never find just the right ones. I was thrilled to be the successful bidder on MaxSold and found the whole process easy and seamless. The pick-up location was described accurately, and there were MaxSold representatives there to answer any questions.
Thanks MaxSold!
I have enjoyed all the treasures that can be found on Max Sold. The quality is usually as posted and Max Sold works hard to resolve and questions.

Well after I wrote my review they reinstated me, As a buyer, I enjoy the experience of Maxsold. Being able to browse what is essentially a series of large garage sales from the comfort of my recliner, and not needing to be an early-birder to find items of interest, is very convenient. My biggest problem is controlling the impulse to buy more items than I actually need -- how can I turn down a selection of power tools for only $5?
I've had great experiences with MaxSold as a buyer. Pick up has been easy, people at the locations are very friendly and highly organized, and the majority of items were as advertised. Some items were in crappier condition than I expected, but upon careful review of the photos it was clear that I had missed things, not that there was any misrepresentation of the products. For the price, everything I have purchased was a great deal. They do a decent job of describing flaws where there are some, which is important to ensure buyers know what they are getting if something isn't in perfect condition. The only area for improvement might be getting even more detailed (perhaps a set of scales/ratings that are consistent?) for things like size, smell (pet home, smoke, moth balls, etc), quality, etc. so it's not just in the wording of the ad (or the photos) but that you could sort by quality or other features. I will continue to use MaxSold and have recommended them to many others. I expect we'll use them within the next year for our downsizing sale.
I always find different things. It's fun and easy to use if you haven't tried it yet don't be scared go for it place your first bid today and have fun
Thanks for your support, John!

For seller managed auctions, the 30% fee is high considering the seller does everything except the web site. Also you should reduce the fees to the buyer. Lower fees means more sales and higher sale values which in turn gives Maxsold and the seller more money. Also more people would be willing to do a Maxsold. Many comments I get from customers picking up the items are the fees are too high. Stop gouging your customers!
Over all I was happy with this service. They had a lot of stuff to catalog and only missed one cupboard of contents. They left some items out without explanation to us. A little update on such items before leaving would be an improvement for future sales. There were some minor spelling mistakes and wrong information on a couple of items. The teams sent out were professional and personable. The final cheque came quickly by mail and I was emailed a complete listing of the sale results. I would use the service again.
The MaxSold concept makes a lot of sense and can provide an efficient way of disposing of a wide variety of content without having to move it. The staff was good and those in the lead on site made good suggestions and were pleasant to deal with. On some items, we made out much better than expected, on others we got less or no bids. This is not surprising for a no reserve auction. As more people learn about this platform, the situation should continue to improve. Overall things balanced out and the take home total made it well worthwhile. Due to the large size of our estate auction, the MaxSold managed option $800 flat fee was worth it. For a small quantity of items, I would probably recommend the Seller managed option. Preparing in advance and having the items accessible / layed out really helps. Our auction was large and the pick up day required the coordination of the pick up of over 380 lots. It was a busy day, there were a few no shows, which is largely unavoidable and two lots that were only partially picked up. One of those was due to an honest misunderstanding and we arranged an opportunity for the buyer to return later but there was no logical explanation for the other occurrence, which should have been obvious to both the MaxSold employee accompanying the buyer and the buyer himself. Overall, the pick up was well organized and executed considering the level of activity and there was no house damage.
Some overall comments and recommendations for improvement:
1. Very few employees on site seemed to have visible identification or name tags.
Recommendation: All employees should have name tags. This is simple enough to action and would make it much easier for the seller when coordinating with the dispatcher as well as to provide feedback.
2. The biggest problem we had was that one of the bidders who had bought several items did not pay, apparently their credit card was declined. This resulted in a series of lots left over, therefore having to be disposed of by other means and a loss of revenue while those that were outbid by this person could have paid and taken the items.
Recommendation: If someone's card is declined as the auction closes, the item should immediately go to the next highest bidder. Instead, two full days went by, and the pick up day was initiated with an apparent hope that the person whose card was declined would respond and get the issue addressed on this third day. It was not until late in the day that this strategy was finally abandoned and the next highest bidders were contacted and asked if they were interested and available to pick up the items. This worked for some items, although it extended what was already a long day. However, several other items were left over. This likely could have been avoided if immediate action had been taken at the auction close. No clear logic or explanation was provided as to why things happened this way. If someone from MaxSold responds and wants me to contact them, I can provide more specifics.
3. The final auction statement which summarizes all the lots, prices, commissions and amount due is a good document. However, it indicated that there was a partial refund given to a bidder because of a "partial lot missing". To put in context, there was only one such occurrence on 380+ lots so that is good but the matter was never brought up to us.
Recommendation: The amount involved was small but the financial implication of any refund is 70% on the seller and only 30% on MaxSold. As such, this type of issue should be brought to the seller's attention ideally during the pick up or as soon as it is discovered with an explanation of the situation.
4. During the pick up day, a MaxSold employee asked if they could simply take some of the lots that did not receive any bids with them when they leave at the end of the day. They asked more than once during the day. This seemed odd as the thought had been to offer the no bid lots to buyers of other lots as opposed to employees.
Recommendation: This probably should not happen as it makes it seem as if some employees are there with the objective of getting free stuff. If this is sanctioned by MaxSold, recommend employees be instructed to wait until the end of the day to ask or preferably until the seller asks if anyone working wants the items left over. Otherwise it puts the seller in an awkward position. I reported this to dispatch but if someone from MaxSold responds to this comment and wants me to contact them, I can provide added specifics.
5. The head office advertised speed (i. E. number of days) at which the process can be executed after the first phone call is likely overly optimistic most of the time. In our case, once the task was passed from head office to the local MaxSold unit, the realities of scheduling and staff availability set in and flexibility on both sides was needed to get this done.
Recommendation: Head Office should have a better view of the level of activity of local units in the region applicable to the Seller and provide a more realistic timeline based on the actual/current situation on the ground as opposed to the ideal scenario that likely assumes that a team will be available instantaneously.
Many thanks for the feedback. We are truly sorry to hear that you had encountered issues with your MaxSold auction. If you can send a quick email over with your auction ID and your contact information to rich@maxsold.com we will contact you in order to discuss, and so that we can also launch a full review of the auction around the points raised. Thanks again for bringing this to our attention, and we hope to hear from you soon.
Maxsold provide unique opportunity for both, sellers and buyers. Sellers have a chance to clean u their house and make same cash. Buyers divided in two major group; people who are buying for their own consumption and second hand resalers.
The biggest challenge for buyers i quality of photographs and lots descriptions. You are buying without seeing and touching actual items. The company conducts business in very professional manner, but there is small degree of risk.
