“Hi,”

Hi, Welcome to my latest review, I'd like to bring you to the attention of this man. Matt Cutts. About Me Hi, my name is Matt Cutts and I joined Google as a software engineer in January 2000. I'm currently the head of Google's Webspam team. Before Google, I worked on my Ph. D. in computer graphics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I have an M. S. from UNC-Chapel Hill, and B. S. degrees in both mathematics and computer science from the University of Kentucky. I wrote the first version of SafeSearch, which is Google's family filter, and I've worked on search quality and webspam at Google for the last several years. His blog is worth a read every now and then if you want the latest scoop on anything google specifically SEO and lots more, this just might be the place, what i like most is there's already so many people asking him questions and he has made available in depth answers to those questions, what i don't like or what you need to remember is he has googles best interests at heart so you can't entirely take his word as Gospel.

“Does Anybody Bother To Look At Matt Cutts Real Blog Stats?”

I think it is absolutely amazing what you're getting away with Matt in the name of do no evil, that you will absolutely not respond to even though it is obvious fact. Your own blog, if it was any other that wasn't also enshrined in Googly concrete from a load of links to it and being a million years old would barely exist on the Internet. You have after 12 years at this only a 17.5 percent direct following, a 80 percent bounce rate, 55 second on page read time. 300,000 visitors a month with apparently 240,000 of them saying you are irrelevant to yourself as worth reading. You are using as your main url what we used to call doorway pages. You don't have anything but your blog, but when you go to the domain, what do you see except a landing page that is a manual doorway asking, oh, you must be looking for my blog. No Matt, they are looking for your shoe size. Your only justification at all in this is you are not commercial or running ads, so you can sit back and judge others that are. You seem like a nice guy on the surface but what you really are when it comes to the Internet is the hatchet man that is smiling the whole time he wreaks his havoc on others lives. I wasn't trolling you or kidding you, although I thought it was pretty funny myself when I tweeted you the stats on your own blog and said, first thing to do if Matt Cutts wants to clean up the Internet, is quit allowing a crap ton of searching to come to him when the vast majority of users are saying, you provide no decent content and a reason to come back on their own.

I some time read this blog, but it is too technical, my suggestion should be written in the language of layman.

Matt Cutts - the God of SEO - If the SEO world had a God, it would be Matt Cutts. Matt is the geeky but amicable public face of Google's search quality team, which maintains the algorithms that determine how web pages rank in Google searches. Because Google is famously tight-lipped about the precise mechanisms it uses to rank websites, the SEO world hangs on Matt's every word, as his blog posts and interviews are often the only authoritative (i. E., non-speculative) resources on many SEO topics.

If SEO is important to your website (as it most likely should be) it is worth keeping up with Matt's blog. Also, if you are ever uncertain about a particular SEO tactic (say, using "noindex" on sitemap pages) I would start your research by searching Matt's blog and interviews. Although Matt Cutts will not suggest webmasters use black hat or even some aggressive white hat techniques, if Matt says a particular SEO practice is kosher, you can feel safe that your site will not be penalized for using it.

Some useful (and interesting) interviews with Matt Cutts:

John Battelle's inteview
In conversation with Eric Enge
SEOmoz video interview
SEOmoz Webmaster Issues Q&A
On personalized search
On how to structure a site
Discussing reinclusion requests (and bizarrely stroking a cat)

I wish Matt Cutts would stay on topic! - Hey, I love Matt Cutts as much as the next guy. He's thoughtful and nice and his blog is tremendously useful for anyone who runs a website or cares about SEO. BUT, I just wish he would stay ON TOPIC! For example, today he posted on "Arrr you prepared to talk like a pirate today with pirate a day fonts" http://www.mattcutts.com/blog/arrrrr-you-prepared-for-talk-like-a-pirate-day-with-fonts/

Ok, I get it. Geeks like pirates. But what about the rest of us who just want to hear useful technical information! Anyway, for the useful stuff, I guess I'll just keep checking this section http://www.mattcutts.com/blog/type/googleseo/ and turn off my RSS :\
