“Products, auctions and employees”

Only discovered Mac.Bid less than a month ago and bought 6 items the first auction and been winning auctions since. We had no real clue about the pickup or inspection process, but would ask employees and they were quite helpful to the point of walking down with me with a flat-bed cart and loading it on. We got all "open box" items and everything was included, nothing missing or broken except for one item of about 15. The auction countdown is fun in anticipation of the "win"

At the beginning I loved this place, but the quality of the item inspection/detail is going down hill some at one location. I know it up to us to view the item before bidding, but since I'm driving a way it's impossible for me to do so everyday. Since they listed they look at items you would think they know what's in the box. It's just hard to want to bid when things are this wrong over and over when you buy too much to add insurance on everything.

I just purchased a HP printer and picked it up today. It had been "gutted" of the most expensive components, i.e. Toner cartridges. I paid a total of $164 for the printer that sells for $329, which would include toner ($246). I now have a printer that may or may not work for a total cost of $410 that I could buy new under warranty at full retail for $329.
"Missing pieces" is one thing, but "gutted" is another thing altogether!
Buyer beware. I will tell everyone I meet to avoid Mac Discount like the plague.

I know many people out there, myself included, will bid on an item and when the auction finishes with you as the high bidder only to find later on or the next day you lost it by $1.00. When you call CS to ask WTF they just tell you "yeah that happens". There is supposed to be no sniping but there is for certain bidders. It is a corrupted enterprise that I would warn everyone to steer clear. It will only make you mad.

Tip for consumers:
The workers will spill the beans and all you have to do is ask.

There is no single product. It's more an ethical issue. They have none.

Plan to wait possibly 45 minutes when picking up big boxes as the employees have to locate the item. But on the bright side, they do take it to your car!

In most cases, the merchandise is defective, missing parts, broken or just plain trash. I bought a shelf unit, but when I got it home, the box was literally filled with someone's garbage! I have bought 3 pieces of furniture, and in every instance, they were missing major parts. In the beginning, it was a good business model because you could take the risk for just a few dollars to get something, but now the bidding goes higher and higher and the minuscule savings isn't worth the risk and hassle. I bought a faucet for $100 and picked it up today. It's missing all the hardware to mount it to the sink! I should have just put my$100 toward a new faucet at Home Depot. My days on MacBid are over. I've had one too many disappointments!

Mac.bid has everything and anything you can think of at their multiple locations. About 90% of all items I have won have been in perfect shape. The other 10% have either been missing pieces or damaged but most have been fixable. Common sense should tell you to stay away from anything electronic or high priced without opting in for their buyers insurance. Remember someone didn't want the item you're trying to win for one reason or another. Enjoy smart bidding on Mac.bids.

My recent experience with Mac.bid has been nothing short of disappointing. After purchasing several items from their auction, I was shocked to find that the products were damaged and unusable upon receipt.

What's even more frustrating is the lack of accountability and customer service demonstrated by Mac.bid in response to my concerns. Their "Open Box" policy, which supposedly allows for the sale of items with missing pieces or damage, is nothing but an excuse for selling substandard products.

Their suggestion that customers should inspect items prior to bidding is impractical and unrealistic, especially for those like myself who traveled a significant distance to collect their purchases.

Moreover, their Buyer's Assurance offer comes with a strict 5-business-day return policy, which fails to acknowledge the inconvenience and frustration caused to customers in such situations.

Overall, I am deeply dissatisfied with my experience with Mac.bid and strongly advise against engaging with their services. The risk of receiving damaged or unusable products far outweighs any potential savings.

Items purchased from this site seem like a good deal. Until you actually have them in hand.
Open box=returned or might be broken, missing parts, dirty, used, non working, broken in a million pieces, etc.
Buyer beware! These Amazon returns are there as disposed of merchandise. Amazon vendors must do something with returns, so they pay to shred them.or send them here.
The buyers premium and lot fee is just added fodder to increase the company's bottom line.
After purchasing about 10 items here as open box... it's hohum. Now I have to store or throw this stuff away.
If it's too good to be true, it most likely is!
Please guide yourself accordingly.

Tip for consumers:
It's stuff one step from shredding/landfill. Don't pay to be the disposal for Cramazon Crap,Wallymart, or others.

Products used:
Heater. TV mount. Stand was broken. Inflatable bed leaked. Battery charger was defective.

Picking up things from the Warren warehouse is super simple everyone there is courteous, and more than willing to help. Even had full conversations with other customers in the parking lot about their items. It's hard to overlook the excitement on someone who received a great deal on their item. It's also easy to enjoy paying half price for things.

I liked the idea of this business but typically everything is either damaged or broken. Who opens a box without removing an item and changes their mind and returns it? It's possible but ANY Open Box should be completely inspected because there's either damage or some other problem otherwise the retailer would resell it. Buyer be very aware. If it looks looks too good to be true, it is.

Tip for consumers:
GO LOOK AT THE ITEM BEFORE BIDDING!

They use computed generated bidding to get the price they want, no one, no one, will make me believe different. That is scamming! Why not put minimum bid on the items so that my time is not wasted? The fees are outrageous and I don't see this company being prosperous in a few years once their business model is exposed.

Terribly bad photos of auction items. When visiting the warehouse I see the latest smartphones in hands of employees and Managers. Not sure why the auction itme pics are so awful! Don't they see the poor quality of the photos? It is SO obviously bad. They lack any interest or concern for us buyers.

DO NOT expect customer service. I received an email stating that my item MUST be picked by tomorrow 1/1/2024. I drove 2 hrs just to find out that they were closed. I wrote an email since the customer service line NEVER followed up and called me back. The email stated basically. The website said they were closed. I read the email not the website. I had a membership and spent thousands of dollars but they will not get anymore out of me. Their customer service has gone away. So if you need my $16 keep it. It is the principle of the fact. I had bought a lot of trash from Mac Bid and understood that I take a chance but for you not to stand behind your email threats that is just bad business.

Actually won bids, no time left, bid closed and I actually won, five minutes later I check purchase to pay, it's not there. I've even tried to bib on a item that I've won just to make sure and it will tell me that the bid is closed. I've had several item taken away and this is very frustrating after spending my time on this, not anymore, I'm done with MAC BID! Scammed!

Once I went to pick up a vacuum cleaner. They said I won two vacuums for the same exact price. (The second vacuum was filthy and well used - open box.) I believed it to be a glitch in their system, but still had to pay for two vacuums. This week, I bid on a suitcase. At the end of the auction, I was sure I had won the item. However, the app didn't give the pop-up message it usually does and I did not receive a confirmation email. (Yes, I checked of my spam.) Yesterday, I got a "reminder" email to pick up my suitcase before 6pm. I didn't see this email until after work and my item has already been abandoned and my credit card has been charged. Customer service says they are sorry. This is what you will get when you use this auction site. Beware.

Like the other reviews, don't bid on this stuff. I bought 3 different items and each one was junk. Bought a room humidifier and it had to be several years old because it had lime build up on it and covered in dirt. They had to know that but still just listed it as open box. There's a reason this stuff is all returns.

They randomly suspended my account after I already had spent hours bidding on stuff and had stuff to pick up tomorrow. No communication whatsoever. I called and called and finally got someone and they said my account was linked to somebody who has been suspended. I've never had another account or gave my card etc to anyone. I've already spent a bunch of money. They claim they will refund me yet haven't seen the money yet. They said I can appeal their decision but that I'll lose everything I already had won. They are a very sleezy company. Highly recommend you stay away.

I have been bidding for several weeks and "won" about a dozen items. About half of my "wins" were broken, used, or missing key parts. Cheap pressure washer missing wand, walk way solar lights missing the spikes that permit them to be driven into ground, telescopic fishing pole broken in half, shoe caddy cabinet with damaged panel and no assembly instructions, tin snips that were so used they were almost worn out, and so on. On the other hand we got a Koi pond pump for $2, new in the box ($50 value). So this business should be called the M@C Bid Auction and Casino. You might "win" occasionally, but not every time. There is a reason for the "no returns" policy. I'm afraid M@C Auction and Casino is in the business of disposing of the returns or unsold merch for Amazon, Target, Walmart, and any other retail business with a return policy. Ironic- M@C Auction and Casino is selling the returned merch, but they themselves have a no-return policy.

Tip for consumers:
M@C Auction and Casino simply flips the returned or unsellabe merch from other retailers. Buyer beware!!

I bid on a Twinkly Christmas tree and won. The pictures and links showed a Twinkly box and the link was to a Twinkly website when I got there the Christmas tree was just a plain Christmas tree with white lights not Twinkly but they did return my money. I would think that is fraud.

I spent over $200 on a new light on Macbids. I got it home, set it up, and the light doesn't work. Now, this was an open box item and I did take the risk on buying it. But this tells me that mac bids makes little or no effort to ensure their items are any good. I got screwed! Buyer Beware!

I've notice that if you post a max bid, you'll never get it for any less. Right before the auction ends, the bid seems to miraculously go to just under what your max bid is. Seems like a scam that should be reported to the State Attorney General's office under Consumer complaints. The form is online at their site. Also, I expected a "Buyers premium", but did not expect a "Lot premium". The Buyer's premium + Lot Premium increased my final bill by 21%. Seems excessive and a backdoor method for MacBid to increase their take on each item. My fault for not investigating further before bidding on anything though. I have a couple of more items won in a subsequent auction. Based on other reviews here, I'll be surprised if either of them work. Definitely a lesson learned!

Tip for consumers:
Never place a max bid and be prepared for the final bill to be significantly higher due to Buyer and Lot fees.

I've spent a lot of money winning things on mac bid and probably half if not more of the items were trash, missing important parts or a completely different item than what was supposed to be in box. For example, won a bid for two glass spray bottles, got a pair of women's dress pants instead. You can't return anything unless you pay a $7-10 fee which is ridiculous but clearly they do that because most of their items would be returned. I've noticed a bid would be at $1 until almost the exact same time close to the end of the bid where the price will increase drastically. Some items are bid over retail price then added fees make it much more than retail. There's no way people are stupid enough to do that when the retail price is marked on the item post. Probably computer generated bidding. This is especially true on large merchandise, such as vanities and appliances.
If you decide to try Mac bid just beware to not overbid for something that could very well be trash. Uploaded photo is an example of two items which would have been a good deal except the charger was missing parts that allow it to work and the phone holder was broken. Spent over $60 on trash and almost $20 more on ridiculous fees. They also claim to check everything before auctioning it, which is definitely a lie because I've bought items in boxes that were literally empty. They wouldn't do anything about it because I didn't open it until I went home.

Tip for consumers:
Don’t leave the premises without checking your purchases.

Items pictured are NOT correct. They take pics of only the good side. Lots of broken items, missing parts, used items. That still have dirt n pet hair in them. Air filters that are dirty and clearly used. Be very cautious when purchasing. Get the insurance on items. Especially furniture & Electronics. Sweepers, cleaners, tools etc. If you get a broken item MARK THE BOX on all sides. So others don't buy THEIR GARBAGE. We have bought from there several times. And have returned SEVERAL items. Who every does the inspection of items. Must be blind. Or doesn't care that they are lying about the item. Staff gets rude when asking for help.
