Lucy in the sky offers adorable clothing with plenty of options to choose from. Their prices aren't too expensive, but I wouldn't quite consider them affordable either since they don't have tend to have great sales. I have a lot to say for this company so I'm going to make a pros and cons list.
Pros:
- Their clothes are super cute. If you can find something that actually fits you, it's worth a shot.
- Their customer service does reply in a timely matter, I would say anywhere between 24-48 hours
- The quality of their clothes in terms of craftmanship is decent. Their clothes don't feel super high end but they don't feel super cheap either. I mean for the price, I wouldn't expect anything less.
- Return shipping is free (but the return policy is still more of a con which I will explain below)
- Website is pretty easy to navigate and I like how simple it is.
Cons:
- Their return policy is absolute garbage. They only offer store credit, which is below standards nowadays for online shopping. Plus, if you want your store credit right away you have to contact customer service or you won't get it for up to 2 weeks.
- Their sizing is incredibly inconsistent. Across the brand and across the same dress in different colors. I've thrifted several Lucy in the sky dresses (materials that don't shrink in the wash, so this is how they were manufactured) and purchased a few from their website. I have the Neia dress in both lavender and burgundy in size SMALL. The lavender dress measures 26" at the waist and the burgundy measures 24" at the waist. That's a huge size discrepancy. Their size chart is absolutely useless because their clothes don't follow it.
- It's pretty odd how not all their clothes ship at the same time. Some dresses ship within 24 hours, while other's have an estimated ship date for a month later. This is noted on the listing of the item, but it's super strange. It's like buying clothes on presale. So if you really want something but it won't ship for a month, you would need to buy it early incase it runs out of stock, and then your money is just being held hostage for all that time while you're waiting for your order to ship. I feel like an item should either be in stock or not in stock.
In conclusion, I haven't had the best experience with shopping at lucy in the sky. If you can find something they does fit you it's nice, but the return policy is such a hassle. If you don't want to deal with the stress, I wouldn't recommend it. Since their sizing is so inconsistent it's just a huge guessing game. If they refunded to your original payment credit, you can order multiple sizes and return the ones that don't fit. The store credit policy is really scummy. If something doesn't fit, you have to send it back, then you need to email them if you want your money back sooner and even then it's no guarantee that the size you want will still be in stock. I'm exhausted just explaining all of this. The actual process is just as tiring. Overall, clothes are cute but it's not a smooth experience unless you get incredibly lucky with the sizing.
Ordered 3 dresses, planning to keep 1. Was told I could return. **Yes, but ONLY FOR STORE CREDIT!
Return policy sucks. Make sure you understand that return is for STORE CREDIT ONLY! During a chat, I was told they would credit my account but apparently, that is not the case. I'll spend my credit and then shop elsewhere.
Kept 1 dress, returned 2, hence the issue.
