I think you can find some genuine people on LS that give great advice. However, as an above reviewer mentioned, there seems to be a group of women that can be very cruel. I also noticed the current mod team seems to side with this group whearas newer unpaid members are infracted or over looked more often then not. Can this site help? Yes. I do think ovet all it's not the best place to recieve real sound advice

:Loveshack, sadly looks finished. Posts are weeks or months old, little new. So people went to other sites, I guess. Where? I am a very longtime member. I enjoyed reading and commenting, but then the mods began deleting, banning members for reasons unknown. Three women who had interesting things to say were gone, then it went downhill. The mods will not even permit discussion of the forum, a strange group. Under other leadership, it would flourish again. Yes, it is pro-women feminist and a complaining male might get hit hard. I was always misinterpreted,. Infidelity is criticized. Social forums are usually liberalish PC and this is the same. I am disappointed.

Most of the time, if you post anything that doesn't fit the liberal narrative, it will be deleted and your account will be suspended, no matter how civil and polite you are. Only libertarian and conservative leaning posts get deleted while progressives can insult anyone they disagree with impunity. They must have hired rejects from Facebook and Twitter because it is the same kind of mindset.
Don't waste your time posting there.

I came to Loveshack seeking some solace and comfort after a tough breakup, which I received, primarily from the cadre of middle-aged women who post there regularly. I will always appreciate that. However, once I became a regular poster, it became clear that on a forum offering dating advice, certain types of advice oriented toward men were against the prevailing feminist groupthink. Any advice to be more confident and assertive with women was often met with retorts that my advice was "PUA games" etc. The idea being that men who are not confident with women should remain that way and hope a woman comes along who finds that adorable.

What eventually got me banned was my inability to get along with the SJWs who infested the political forums, with the mods fully in their corner.

I'm glad I got banned, as I was wasting a lot of time posting there. But there are some good and compassionate people there.

Some members are "paid members". An example could be "prepaph". A fat old lady without children who trolls every topic personally attacking men. If you debate a "paid member" you are given "points" then banned from the site from biased "monitors" like Tristan. Do not go here if you have a relationship issue. A liberal bunch of "man haters" that can attack you and are above reproach. It actually makes you despise the opposite sex if you stay here too long.

It's a garbage site - much like citydata.com (avoid that one too). In many ways, the posters remind me of a neighborhood I lived in. Poorly educated & high welfare where people changed partners repeatedly because, to be blunt, they were all losers (drunks & addicts).

You won't get any real or useful advice from this site. They are ok with affairs & cheating for one. Anyone who takes relationship advice from someone who gives a thumbs up to affairs needs psychological help, not internet help.

Maybe I'm looking at it through rose tinted glasses, but my memories of this from years ago were of a lively community with various interesting, annoying, fun characters making each other laugh, making each other angry and generally entertaining and annoying each other in the way that real people do when they're not afraid of their own shadows.

If you're a regular from those previous times who's self isolating after testing positive for covid, returning to this community will be a really depressing experience. That community seems to be long gone. I don't know who's running what's left of Loveshack, but I'd imagine them being the sort of well intentioned but drab, humorless authoritarians who earnestly believe they're accomplishing something positive as they suck the life and fun out of everything.

I needed a place to vent as I am currently cheating on my wife (long story) and I received nothing but support and kindness. LS is by far the fairest dating advice website. Where else can you find like-minded people who understand that sometimes, when you're not getting from the wife, it's completely fine to find it elsewhere. I owe these members my sanity. I'm keeping the mistress on sight with very clever backstories. Those who know will know, ie my wife is crazy, she had a lover first, I'm so sad in my marriage, she doesn't understand me like you do, she got too comfortable and put on too much weight, etc. LS is great at getting tips that way.

If I could, I would give more. It's so comfortable it feels like home.

As others have said, the mods post under multiple user names. Even worse, some of them literally act like bullies and laugh at and mock your questions. They are extremely rude. My advice: Do not use this website!

Moderators will ban anyone they want to, I think. No second chances or appeals. Some posters can say almost anything, but if anyone complains, that's it.

You are nobody to them, a nameless entity, so easy to delete anything. Other forums have same issues, unfriendly censoring mods. No explanation given.
Of course, no one is really banned. Your computer is banned.

Hi all!

I don't usually go out of my way to write negative reviews of inter-relationship advice fora online but I will make an exception for this one.

Absolutely dreadful.

The moderation is either AWOL or incapable of making quick, un-biased decisions (you can tell by the way everyone knows everyone else by name). The regulars are fine mostly - it's the constant, unchecked stream of newcomers who post dramatic one-off posts never to be seen again - I guess they know what to expect!

Anyway. I left off my own accord and have asked for all my posts / threads to be deleted and / or hidden (not entirely clear on the policy on this, tbh) - they agreed (unusual for them) so at least there is that going for them.

There are a group of women on there that give very cruel responses to women who have been cheated on. These women have post histories of 22,000+ on LoveShack so I suspect they work for LoveShack and are on there to trigger and gain an audience. They gang up and bully. They were/are probably mistresses as they take the side of the mistresses. Not a supportive place.

MEAN people.

When a mistress is on there complaining about her MM lover, these women are so supportive. It HAS to be a set up to trigger people.

Don't post your problems because you will feel worse and even MORE frustrated. The board is full of either paid responders who purposefully trigger or pure trolls who post thousands of responses and have been members for years and years.

I was mostly a lurker, and so I didn't experience any problems with moderation like others have mentioned here. I truly enjoyed the dialogue on this site and the (mostly) sincere attempts to help others. The only downside I can think of is that sometimes posters in need of serious psychological help used the forums as pure (and repetitious) venting, which became frustrating for both them and the posters responding with advice.

Where will all the mean judgemental critics I mean posters go? I am so glad this poor excuse for a Forum is gone, gone forever.

It bothered me knowing I poured my heart out there once. So glad it is gone--the words no longer on that horrid site--poof like magic.

William was the worst, such a cruel small "man". Ha where does one go when they can't bully helpless people reaching out for help?

Adios LS!

The above describes my experience in a nutshell. While I commend the vigilance and attentiveness employed in maintaining the site, favoritism seems to run rampant, and if you're a sporadic poster, not one of moderators' valued members, they will flag you and silence you like it's no one's business. An established poster can unapologetically reply with a "LOL wut" to your message, but if you 'reply in kind', you will be deemed hostile and argumentative. The reasons as such given will be vague, applied arbitrarily, and your requests for elaborating will fall into a non-acknowledged trashbin.

Established members can also run free with a one-size-fits all approach on any issues from a post with barely any acknowledgement that they have read the finer points, and if someone challenges the notion using language as 'flagrant' as "yeah, right...", that someone will be silenced.

Do not recommend unless you have very thick skin, enjoy seeing people with legitimate issues thrown to the virtual mob, or your discussion style is basic with a healthy dose of fake moralising.

I created an account almost 2 weeks ago because I have a situation.

The situation is that, I am a convicted felon and I met a woman who is a Criminal Defense Attorney. I did my due diligence and found out that a lawyer would not lose her law license if she dates a convicted felon.

I went on this site and asked how should I disclose my felony conviction to this woman and I received so many troll users with insincere posts, especially the user normal person. They kept telling me to leave her alone, blah blah blah. When I gave them a piece of my mind, I would get warnings from the moderation team to be respectful. They eventually locked my thread and I just deactivated my account.

Here is what I got attached from the moderation team.

People on that site must be foreigners with limited understanding of the English language. Or brain damaged. I wrote a very clear question. Two paragraphs. Very clear at the differences between myself & someone else.

One idiot who responded yammered on about something utterly irrelevant. And the other idiot who responded somehow got me & the other person confused.

The mods are biased IMO, it's a simple as that.
I don't believe there are as many genuine posters on the site as they claim because the Mods post under other names.
It seems some posters are allowed to say what they like while others get banned for challenging them.
Some of the questions asked are so idiotic it's easy to see that they have probably been made up.

I was a longtime member on this site and will miss it if it's truly gone. There were a lot of fine people who posted there and I wish them all well. It was a very special spot and I'm grateful for the support, discussion, banter, love and laughter throughout the years.

To anyone who's reading this, until we meet again... take care and be good!

Hi,
I'm Underpants. Posted on that site for many years, and it was good back in the 2000s. I of course got in a little trouble here and there, but then you could argue you case, email the moderator and work it out. This was before Robert/Art Critic (who I used to consider a nice person/friend). Never had a problem with Carhill/William. Neither were moderators in my time. I recall our moderator had a pee wee herman avatar and the name Tony.

I recently logged back in and in the Political thread criticized support of Trump. I found a quote by Robert posting as Art Critic supporting trump. I did quote it and asked why? What is it, given all he has done do you still stand behind this person? I though it a reasonable question that anyone should be able to answer, I was asking the poster Art Critic, not the moderator Robert. I do not see a way to communicate with moderators directly as it used to be. My post was deleted and I was issued some kind of acknowledge your wrong doings to post again (no way to reply, only acknowledge).

I tried to rejoin in April, most of my posts were edited with content removed and edited, which altered the context of my posts and had other posters inquire if I was okay.

My last attempt felt safe, a gardening thread, sharing gardening tips and how to grow our own food in a pandemic (did not use scary pandemic word). Just sharing tips. Again, my posts were modified and I was issued an "acknowledge to post" warning with no way to ask... what?

So I logged out and good luck.

There was a movement a few years ago (2015?) for Lovecrowd, by long term banned members, but I do not see it available any longer.

I just worry that without deleting my account the moderators can just make up words, as they already do, and I have no control. No option to delete my account.

Sad, used to be a cool place.

I made some massive blunders in my life and came upon the site where others had shared their experiences. I won't say all posts were helpful but they definitely helped me think straight taking all the perspectives shared in the thread. Now that I am somewhat at a better place, it makes me sad that the site is gone. Definitely got the help and support I needed the most at that point of my life.

That's very funny. William banned me because I told the ugly truth to someone. He sent me a very rude email, getting stuck into me after I had the audacity to point out that someone was acting like a loser because she was running around after a married guy. He completely misinterpreted my post, his comprehension skills were very limited. That's extremely funny that the site has died. I hope William reads what people have said about him here, he is a 5 star $#*!head.

Loveshack is no more. Perhaps all the negative reviews here killed it?

I liked some of the more philosophical and political discussions, and enjoyed engaging with people I didn't always agree with. That's where a site like LS can excel - in more general discussions about relationships, life and philosophy. I think people seeking advice tailored to their specific situation often ended up regretting putting their very personal stuff out there.

Was never a fan of Carhill/William. Various regulars gave him the nickname of "Carbundy" after he went through a phase of using pictures of Ted Bundy for his avatar. Every so often, I'd see a post from him where he'd express a wish to see the herd of humanity thinned out by some great plague or atrocity. Well, he certainly thinned out the herd on LS... and I'm not surprised to see that the site has finally died a death.

It's a shame it's completely disappeared though. Back in the day, before WillCarbundy took over and started banning anybody who swore, said anything remotely sarcastic or ventured a fraction outside the strict parameters he applied to discussions, some pretty great conversations and the odd bit of fun drama happened on that forum. Posters on it became real life friends, some even got married... so it's sad that it ended on such a low note.
