“My experience with Lifechangers”

My experience with Lifechangers has been amazing. I came here with absolutely nothing 2 years ago a very broken woman. Today I hold my head up proudly, I have my son back among all my hearts desires. Thank you Jesus

I got set free from addiction and met God there but I didn't receive the love of God from the staff that's a fact. They are hypocrites and at the end of the day it's about the money. Its pitiful—They pick and choose favorites by who brings more money in fundraising(As long as their pockets are full they could care less about anything else.) I recommend finding a different program because someone could easily become bitter towards God by the way they treat people

My family just brought me home one of their papers to try and get me to go here. I am already a month+ into treatment. They are religious and believed these people are helping. I myself see the same tactics that non profits use to get people to fundraise for them at slave wages. This is even worse as it seems like they take control of your communication and medicine which is cult tactics.

My son, a veteran diagnosed with PTSD was in this program. He was discharged from the program because he complained about his inability to call me or his father. They do NO substance or mental health treatment like they promised. They hide behind Christianity to abuse and manipulate the people to do "fundraising." They brainwash and mentally abuse people. They withhold medications for people diagnosed with mental illness. The FBI needs to investigate them. Do not put your son and daughter there. They are probably involved in other illegal activities.

My son spent 30 days there and had to get out of there! Management style is fear and control. They were called names, threatened and punished if 1 person got out of line, everyone was punished. He asked if he go for a hike and get exercise? Told he didn't EARN the privilege?... TOTAL MONEY DRIVEN CULT in my opinion. One guy stole $60, and they let it pass because " He was a good Producer?
There was NO Christlikeness displayed, No example of Christianity being represented, Only hurting hearts getting even more damaged... If you are thinking of sending a loved one there... DONT DO IT!

I was just at hyvee, I seen ppl from here outside of hyvee, "fundraising". I struggle from addiction and have for a long time. I gave them money n told them that I appreciate what they're doing because ppl like me need it…. After I left, I looked up lifechangers and all I see is terrible comments calling it a cult n a racket…. Makes me sick that ppl are literally scamming vulnerable ppl, as in addicts and ppl who suffer from mental illness just to make a profit…. And using religion to do it…. The ppl running these places are the $#*!ing devil! Telling unsuspecting ppl it's a free rehab, when in all reality, they force these patients to go out n pretty much beg for money to pay their rent…. This place should be ashamed of themselves! It's SICK! And to act like they're doing "Gods" work?!? They're as $#*!ing sick as the catholic church! Disgusting!

This group had a table set up at the Sams Club in Jefferson City on 12/13/19. I noted morevthan one instance where the workers made dirty comments to and about customers. Seemed like they were there to try and pick up women. One said something rude to mecand I told him off. I would never support this organization.

So LifeChangers was a nightmare. I was 17 and disappeared into the cult known as LifeChangers. I wasn't allowed to talk to a majority of my family. I brought pictures of my friends and family 5 months later the pictures were put away and I was advised to let go of my old life. Constantly I was downed for having assurance my boyfriend would be there when I left and was told he'd probably cheat.(he didn't and we got engaged). Constantly I was told I have no right I was a minor and they lawfully could handle me how they wanted. I came in and couldn't walk my need for a physical therapist was neglected for months when I did go they consistently didn't listen to the doctor's instructions leaving me with a dislocated spine disk. Consistently lead me on and left me for a constant need for validation. I was not on drugs nor was I in full sin my own mother abandoned me and it was my only choice. I couldn't get a job or have a minute to myself. They let other people say anything mentally abusive and leave me in tears without correcting bullying behavior (60 year olds bullying 17 year olds and getting away with it) Tennessee puts people in a hot un air conditioned room to make more than 7,500 shirts a week no pay(it's basically a sweatshop). Employees are underpaid and overworked (most can't afford rent for a house and compromise in living in an over populated living setting). You have to even deal with fundraising in extremely hot to extremely cold temperatures fundraiser's sometimes going 6am- 9pm $3 allowance for breakfast, $5 for lunch, $6-10 for dinner and you have to be in luck to find lunch near fundraising area here's the thing only $14 to eat per person but these people earn almost $2000 in a weekend and see nothing. How is it a multimillion program has so much money but doesn't help with the decline of peoples health. The shirts are cheaply made and very easily made and they charge high. In the fine print of the waiver the people sign it makes you agree to not suing and makes you acknowledge you'll go through physical and psychological pain and suffering and your liable for your injuries or issues, and you have to agree to sign away your first amendment right. Plus not being in addiction they preach you were in addiction 100% of the time no regard for who wasn't. It is spirit filled but the good never out weighed the bad there and leaving was the best decision I ever made because though I was homeless leaving I lucked out and now I'm a responsible adult living my life free of abuse. I don't go to church because I still haven't healed from the trauma it gave me. LifeChangers will forever and always be a sweatshop, slavery inducing, and morally wrong cult. This place should be shut down because they have not yet had any repercussion.

I was a student in the Wasilla AK location for about 6 months. The "leadership" was Kat Kirby, Erica and Andrew Downs and Ronnie and Tracy Vance. All had long since had their brains burned out on meth and all had a damn God-complex. The biggest psycho was Tracy who would claim that she never slept because God was busy "downloading everything about us (the students) into her head." Yeah, right. God doesn't operate that way. He's not manipulative like that. Most likely she never slept because she was high. Then there was Kat Kirby who clearly failed to pray the gay away as she was fired from the ministry then promptly became a lesbian again (no joke, chk out her FB profile). It also became apparent that she was sexually preying on at least one if not two of the younger ladies in the program. I could go on and on with the horror stories. The non-stop manual labor, the punishments for little nothing offenses like "making a face" at someone. It was ridiculous. Contact with one's family was strictly limited to a supervised once a month visit and two 15 min phone calls a week which could be taken away at staff whim. We spent all day Friday and Sat selling crap jewlery and T shirts outside walmarts to "earn our keep." However, with all the money we brought in from these sales, we still ate Ramen for many meals and were told to "be grateful." Wow, and just where was all that money going. Well, Katrina was fired for stealing and who knows how much. As I said, I could go on and on. Women left this cult right and left. The twisted Bible doctrine and harsh punishments and isolation was just insane. One day, I'll write a book. Stay away, just stay away and save your sanity.

Definitely a profit driven cult practicing spiritual abuse. All the distinctive. Love-bomb on the way in... then things change. Estranged you/limit and control contact with familt/outside world. No TV no radio. Leaders claim to have gift of prophesy therefore to disobey them us to disobey God. Zero access to females unless you are emptying the cash out of their purses in front of a Walmart. To leave the compound is to go against Gods will and many that leave die. This is a recurring message. Leave equals die. Only higher-ups have access to the women and illicit/inappropriate relationships are status quo. Arranged relationships/marriages. Nobody in leadership has ever left nor do they have more than a year or two of sobriety. Human trafficking. Ride six deep trafficked all over the southeast to "fundraise"... each crew clears a couple grand each weekend. NC center brings in a haul of 30 to 40 thousand a week but guys are fed bologna sandwiches and must keep their breakfast under $3 on the road while fundraising. Unclear whether leadership is clean/sober. No light in their eyes. Danger. Danger. Beware Life Changers Cult.

I read the reviews when my daughter was on the streets and was going into the program. I prayed and asked God for his will be done. Three weeks in, they took them to Louisiana the third worst broken out area for Covid-19, the weekend that TN governor shut down. I agree people are should work for their health and well being of a program if it's free. But, not during a pandemic. Their lives shouldn't be put in more danger than it was when they were on the streets doing drugs. Wonder what the government officials and judges who force people into these programs are getting. Someone needs to check this place out. Also there are other questionable practices. And the person who said that this is just a strict program. Where was the counseling, where is dealing with your past to make your future better. I thought when I read the reviews oh they are just drug addicts and didn't want to work for their sobriety. I was wrong, thankfully my daughter has gotten out and is on the road to recovery. NO THANKS TO THIS PROGRAM. I pray for the ones who have no one to listen to them.

I took my Son the one in TN. I took him there to get help for addiction BUT NO! They trained him to sell T Shirts... No help for his addiction on how to live a sober life. My Son left we called the so called Pastor 3 times to go pick up his belongings. THEY STOLE HIS THINGS... Then the so called Pastor confronted me and told me and my 74yr old Mother to shut up we were pissing him off! They gave all of his clothes away. How do you do that. They brainwash the men I know a you man that is there and him and his girlfriend are brainwashed. My Son had sense enough to go in a store and call me. We are able to get him home thanks to God and angels along the way. Now I am gonna have to pray harder to try to get my Son who don't believe in the Lord to trust him. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE LISTEN TO THIS MOMMA DON'T SEND YOUR CHILDREN HERE!

They kidnapped a friend's son, promised to help him, but instead took him and made him go "fundraising". The number they provided was to an individual, not a group.

They take those most vulnerable and deprive them of everyone who supports them and cutting them off using manipulative means and emotional and mental abuse. The police need to get involved, what they are doing is a crime!

I was in a very dark place, and was in need of treatment. My mom came across a table of theirs and was given the pitch. She was told they have a house on the beach, its completely free, they have a chef, workout room, is a Christ centered program and basically sounded too good to be true... which it was.
I was told i would be going to their location in Carlsbad but last minute they changed it to Gallup, New Mexico. Since i had made arrangements to go to treatment i couldnt make different arrangements last minute. They didnt pay for transportation as promised, so i book a GreyHound for $300 and arrived at 3AM. (While claiming to be free they did pressure my mom into giving a standard $500 donation) I am driven to the "treatment center" and it's a freezing Cold warehouse. The warehouse consists of three sections a kitchen which is off-limits to everyone, bathrooms and a bunk room with bunkbeds made out of two by fours. Main room is filled with plastic chairs this is the only place you can go and sit there is nothing or nowhere else you can go to do anything. If you wanna go anywhere you have to have somebody go with you as an accountability partner. They have this hillbilly rule called the gun line which is basically old Termanology for back when you're in prisons where you couldn't cross a line or else you get shot things like this were placed around the kitchen entrance and the table where the "pastor" would sit and you would hand in your homework which is ironic because you're turning in homework to someone who didn't graduate high school and has no religious or drug treatment education whatsoever. My main complaint is the fact that 3 to 4 days out of the week you get in a busted up minivan not fit for driving and you drive for six hours to various parts around the surrounding states and stand in front of a Walmart for 12 hours (minimum) yes stand, no sitting and beg people for money in exchange for T-shirt's, homemade necklaces and CAD boards with thing like "live, love, laugh" stuff like that but god related all in order to get people to give you money on the basis that you've pitched them that you are helping feed clothe and house the homeless. Which you are not they feed you hotdogs and beans, no clothes and you're in a warehouse.

The best experience my last day leaving was the "pastor" saying "Y'all keep acting up and you're gonna find out real soon why I got these flames on my hands" basically he was threatening us with violence because one person decided to have an attitude. I guess in prison he used to fight and this was back when he weighed about 180 currently 300 lb. This was the pastor.

On our trips we would stay in trap motels and we're allowed three dollars for food at McDonald's every morning we were then allowed another 3 to 5 dollars for lunch at Jack in the box at the end of our three day sessions of begging for money for 12+ hours depending on whether we hit our $1200 a day goal we would then have to drive regardless of the time we left for about 6 to 12 hours home with the person driving running on nothing but energy drinks in a hoopdee mini van where our lives were seriously at risk because of the tiredness of the driver and the junker vehicle.

Sundays when we arrived home even if we got home at 5:30 - 7 o'clock in the morning we had to go to church, Church would start at 8 o'clock and even if we got one hour sleep we still had to go even though we had just worked 40+ hours out of the last 72 hours and those extra hours were spent in a minivan where you could not sleep the rest of the time again you just had an open space with plastic chairs and all you could do is sit there you could not lay in your bed during the day there was no television to watch there was no Wi-Fi you had to sit in a plastic chair and even if you wanted to go into one of the other rooms you had to have accompaniment less you steal someone's I don't know wife beater or axe deodorant spray or whatever hillbilly items were brought in if I had a nickel for every time someone use the word y'all I would have enough money to afford an actual drug treatment program.

The program is about money and money alone and they do it in the name of God they think they hang the banner of Jesus and claim to be helping people but at the end of the day someone is just making money and that is all it is, very very sad because that person is going to be judged many people are going to be judged. I had to sneak out when I tried to call my mom I could not even reach her because when I mentioned the issues with the program they hung up the phone and said no badmouthing the ministry, click. So I had to wait another two weeks for my next phone call in order to know when I could leave. I had to speak to my mom in code in order for her to book a greyhound ticket. Somehow I managed to get past them, they dropped me off at the bus station eight hours before my departure next to a liquor store knowing the problems I had but they didn't care because they got what they wanted from me and they were moving onto the next person who would be brought in from the jail would be faced with either doing 3-15 years or completing one year of slave labor raising funds for the apostle Mark as he likes to be called.

It's sick, those people are sick everything you read about this program is true all the ones you read that have five stars are written by them, you can tell because they are written in the same country hillbilly accent that I heard while I was in the program by staff. I was lied to, I was manipulated and it was the worst month of my life. Christ would have compassion these country hucksters and I'm sorry if I call these people names that I shouldn't as I am a Christian man but I'm so angry they put me through the worst month of suffering I've ever been through in my life. If I didn't get a ticket out my next best option would have been to commit a crime and spend the time in jail.

Ships you six men deep in minivans all across the southeast to "fundraise" selling Jesus trinkets in front if Walmarts.

Blatant, disrespectful marketing of Jesus.
The exact thing he flipped the temple tables for.

You will fundraise 13 hours straight Friday and Saturday bringing in usually 9 to 11 hundred dollars a day... but keep your breakfast under 3 dollars and your lunch under 6 dollars and be prepared for a stripsearch when you get back.

You will drive up to 8 hours back to the center through the night after fundraising for 13 hours.

Our driver fell asleep and we wrecked and I dislocated my shoulder

The guys at the NC center alone brought back an average of 40 thousand a week for "apostle mark".

Pastor Tommy dropped the emergency room bill in my lap before church service.

Just think about that.
Good and hard.

Tells you everything you need to know about lifechangers

Horrible people exploiting the weak and desperate for money. Never been treated worse.

Recent former student. Just escaped Thursday, really. I was only there for two days, but it was the strangest, scariest experience of my life. If something seems to good to be true, it usually is. Everything written in the previous post is absolutely true. I ended up leaving, on foot-no money, no cell phone, and no idea where I was and 7 hours from home! But for a group of people who are so "Christian", they need to expect to get what they have coming.

It is places like this that gives real Christ led organizations a bad name. Hiding behind God and going against his word is dangerous grounds. My 85 year old mom on a fixed income gave the required or "donation" $500 to get her son some help like any mother would do. He was taken there Wednesday and unfortunately he leaves the next morning. I say he leaves they dropped him off at a McDonald's with no money, at which I myself gave $60 to go into his file, no nothing and they couldn't stay and help him cause the guy had to get back to prayer time. Really? Wonder if the prayers were Lord send me someone hungry I can feed or someone needs... well not gonna get into that. Needless to say Mom was devastated, heartbroken and crying. I called to at least see if she could get her money back being at the least she may owe them a few hours stay and a breakfast. I was shocked to hear "it's not our fault he left no refund". I could understand if we were talking about a month or longer but less than 24 hours. Is this the way to run a Christian organization? Can we break our self made policy to help someone? Very upset would not recommend this place to anyone. GREED is a bad disease and you will pay for it. There is one guy that works there I met while checking my brother in that was a sincere guy who had been through the program. I don't remember your name but my advice it to run. You have a big heart, too big to let this place kill your spirit.

This place is NOT a rehab. They use these young men to sell t shirts and other handmade merchandise in front of the Walmart or Tractor Supply. If they do not sell at least $1,000 each time they are out, and they go out at least once a week, then they have to fast and repent for the next three days! You provide their personal hygiene items, bed sheets/blankets/pillows, clothes, shoes and etc. They ask you for a Walmart gift card for other items. They cannot have any medical help. Not even Tylenol. They use these people who are down and almost out to sell their stuff for profit! They are under the name of a church and use God as a disguise for what they are really doing.

Are they sheep in wolves clothing? Are they REALLY a bona fide rehab?

A relative was court ordered to the Lifechangers program. Through a court order, I was told to transport him from the jail to this facility. I was told by their attorney to stop at Walgreens to pick up a prescription for the relative on the way to the Lifechangers facility. That the prescription was called in by the county jail nurse. Also to let them know, because this was a mental health prescription - which was a large dosage that had been prescribed for 8 mo by the doctor at the county jail. And they needed to go to a mental health facility for counseling because of the type of prescription. Once we arrived, and the "counselors" that were in charge were provided this information, they immediately refused! Said he could not take this prescription, that he would "rely on God". He was going to have to stop cold turkey! This is all well and good, and God does do miracles. However, God has also given men knowledge to make medicine for needed medical issues. NOTE: this prescription was prescribed and ordered by the county jail medical providers and this relative was ORDERED by the DISTRICT ATTORNEY to this specific Lifechangers facility. This was NOT a street drug or something that this relative was addicted to, but what the county jail providers demanded that he take and had been taking under their supervision. NOT something he could just quit cold turkey and pray about! Some of the side effects are seizures, convulsions, and stroke. This relative had been approved to go to a different rehab facility, but the DISTRICT ATTORNEY refused and denied this rehab facility and would only approve LIFECHANGERS! Is the District Attorney - a State employee and Lifechangers - supposed a non profit, Christian organization - working together? When I was adamant, trying to explain that this prescription was court ordered, the "staff" still refused. Even called the police to try and force me to leave! I briefly spoke with the officers and and explained. They agreed with me, and asked if my relative wanted to stay? The relative said they would stay until their lawyer could work out the kinks. But was concerned about the issues of stopping the prescription cold turkey. The police officers left, and I remained! I was not being unreasonable! The next morning the Assistant Director - Chad - personally called me and apologized. He also asked for a big list of personal items for the relative, bedding, and a back pack for traveling! When I questioned this, and asked to see the relative, Chad informed me that I was not immediate family and would not be allowed to communicate, visit or have any further contact with the relative for the duration of their time there, which was one year! The next day, this same Assistant Director - Chad - contacted me AGAIN (remember, I am not immediate family) for more personal items for the relative! Including a Walmart gift card for other items! I did take some personal items and some bedding that same afternoon for the relative at the Lifechangers facility, and ALL of the members of this facility were loading into cars and vans for an extensive journey to "spread the word" and "to sell t-shirts and etc in Mississippi". REALLY!
This court ordered relative who had only been released from a county jail facility less than 24 hours, and court ordered to the Lifechangers facility, and was denied any contact with me because I am not an immediate family member, was demanded by the Lifechangers staff to go with the other young men across State lines for this mission! If he was not compliant, he would be forced to leave, which puts him in jeopardy and will be forced back into the county jail facility! This relative also has very young children that I have legal custody of. The Assistant Director - Chad - told me that I could "drop them off for visitation", and they "have three staff members who would supervise the visit with the children". Wait! What? Who does that?! WHY would I ever do that?! NO WAY would this EVER happen! (could their possibly be a child pedophile in their too?)... Does this Chad want to take this responsibility? WHY would he even suggest that? The privilege of MY precious grandchildren, who innocently want to see their parent, is being denied. They are the immediate family, and are minors. I am their FULL and LEGAL GUARDIAN and because I am not an "immediate" family member they cannot visit because they said so. What are they afraid that someone will see or hear? So, is it in the best interest of the persons in the rehab that they are thinking of? No.
Where is the division between Church and State? How can the Assistant District Attorney order this relative to this Christian facility, that withholds their prescription medication and counseling without any supervision of any medical personnel? And expect to "pray it out". Its not just a matter of faith! Its also a matter of being denied reasonable healthcare of these men and women by a medical provider! WHO is taking care of their medical needs too? This is a rehab, after all! To help them get past any addiction in a proper and safe manner. Everyone knows that they need help during their withdrawals. Prayer, is GREAT! But, they need someone with the brain God gave them to help them too! Not someone forcing them to solely pray it out! They need proper guidance, along with prayer and faith to get past their addictions. Allow them to see their family and friends in a "supervised" manner, so all involved can have the peace of mind and work together so that they can make it through this difficult part of their lives. Not add to their struggles! Do we put our hand in a barrel of snakes, and if we get bit, become sick and/or die, was it is because we did not have faith? No. It's a matter of using the brain that GOD provided for us.
Are their needs really being met in the proper manner? I am sure they will respond to this - or have someone to respond - and say yes. But, from my observations, NO! They are a group of people, under the pretense of being a Christian, and using their "power" on desperate and addicted people. This might work for some people, but they are way to harsh and needy.
I can go on and on, but I would not recommend this facility.

I was looking for something that would be Christian based and recovery oriented. These folks are NOT what they claim to be.

I located and printed a 23 page document for these charlatans, based in Tennessee. They caused so much harm in less than two weeks that I am still recovering from the experience.

I was in a house... a nice house, granted... in a part of Vancouver, Washington, near the Camas area.

These people seem to prefer to ship in people that have travelled several hundred miles to keep them further separated from their families.

Each 'recruit' is able to write letters to family and friends. However, you are not to touch a computer for a year (per their document) and are not allowed a cell phone. Calls to family or friends may be allowed, but are scheduled, can be made only on an organization cell phone, and the 'privilege' to make said calls can be taken away for a minor infraction of the 'rules' and the receiving of a demerit.

I will write more later, but swear this to be the truth.

My name is Bryan, and these guys have the makings of a cult. They isolate and, I believe, brain wash the prospect. More on this later.

I was ringing a bell outside of Walmart for the Salvation Army, and there was a Lifechangers man collecting donations... I watched him walk inside and buy himself a soda with the donation money. I was horrified
