Unfortunately, have to report the same terrible LHG service. I thought because they were based in midwest US they'd be OK. They are terrible.
Had a fridge go out. Technician did nothing to repair just looked at it for < 5 minutes and reported it was the sealed system. Guess what LHG doesn't cover? Sealed system. (That's literally the 'fridge' part of your refrigerator). Offered measly $150 cash towards their new recommended fridges. But I'd already paid $90 for their service call...
Had our dishwasher go on the fritz. Tech says its a control board. Days go by and eventually LHG says it's 6 years old out of 10yrs and not worth repairing. They want to give me $250 towards a new one and recommend Frigidaire crap models I can purchase towards.
Like others say: they don't get wholesale pricing on anything. It's the same price as if you bought from Home Depot or Lowes.
I've had two legit claims and literally nothing has been covered. I can't find anything in the policy saying this is how they operate (prorating your device). I may just do a chargeback on my fees to contest with the CC company. Not sure yet.

If I could go back in time, I'd punch myself for using this company.
Total Home Guard policy (top policy)
Crook Company, plain and simple. I've had LHG for a few years and my experience has consistently gotten worse. I'll put a few examples below:
1. I needed some general plumbing help. It took a few days to have the plumber come out, which is fine it was not an emergency, however, it took a weeks after for him to come back and fix. I had to reach out multiple times for him to finally help. Once done, his work wasn't completed properly and when I called LHG for help they said I'd have to pay the $125 fee again for his mistake.
2. Recently had my AC go out. It happened late at night and they boast they have emergency services but wouldn't send someone out or approve quick enough so I had to pay out of pocket. They ended up only paying me $80 out of a $400 bill because it wasn't approved. Really look at the wording in their contracts. When I called customer care to see if I could get anymore off my bill I was met with extreme rudeness and them saying well at least you're getting $80.
3. From this incident, I wanted to cancel my policy. I asked them the cancellation process, they told me that once I cancel I would be able to receive partial refund. So then I go to cancel and it's no we are taking all your money and it says in the contract part J. I asked for leadership to assist and they will not escalate up. I've reported them to BBB, getting a lawyer involved and am now leaving bad reviews all over the internet so hopefully someone else is warned.
I also found a Reddit thread where some stated they are allegedly paying for reviews > https://www.reddit.com/r/homeowners/comments/13wol58/do_not_use_liberty_home_guard/?rdt=*******
If you have to allegedly pay for reviews, you aren't a good company.
General policy
Update with the NDA they force when people demand refunds. They will only pay what they owe IF you agree to not leave negative reviews. Clearly I did not agree and noone should trust a company that pays to keep negative reviews off.
DO NOT BUY A WARRANTY THROUGH THEM. THEY ARE SCAMMERS AND WHEN YOU DEMAND A REFUND, THEY DEMAND AN NDA SO OTHERS DO NOT KNOW THEY ARE A CRAP COMPANY.
Below is from my BBB complaint. I have since requested a refund and they are trying to force an nda.

I paid in full a Liberty Home Guard Warranty. They were happy to upsell me to a longer timeframe than I originally requested. When I submitted a claim November 4th, for an HVAC system that would not provide the set temperature, they chose a technician that I never heard from. A couple weeks later, they reassigned the claim to a different technician. He came out and diagnosed the issue to be the blower motor on an Armstrong unit. He did research and sent the information to Liberty Home Guard (LHG). LHG sent an email that it was approved and I would receive a call within a believe 24-48 hours. No call ever came in and so I chatted them. I was told that they had to request information form the technician and they hadn't been able to get ahold of him. I called him and he immediately answered and told me he sent them everything to include the part number and where to purchase it from because the Armstrong unit seemed to be difficult to find parts for. Later that day, I get a phone call that the claim was approved and I will be receiving a compliance letter I had to sign. That letter never came. I chatted again and they said that they had to talk to the technician again. I immediately sent a text to the technician who immediately replied and recalled LHG with the part # and place to order again. I get an email again saying that the claim is approved and I should be hearing from someone in24-48 hours I believe. Again, nothing came through so I emailed and was told that I should get the document that say or the latest, the next. That never happened so I emailed again. I was told some more BS. Eventually I was sent the letter that inferred that the part being ordered was the Armstrong part. I asked questions about the language claiming if the part doesn't work, that LHG was not responsible and that I must close the claim with prejudice. The part came and I sent a picture to the tech. He said it wasn't what he told them and contacted the manuf. They told him it won't work
Beware LHG. They brube unsatisfied buyers with the money the buyer is entitles to in order to keep negative reviews from the public view. That's why the reviews are soo high. I fell for it and fell for their lies and scam of a company tactics.
Tried to use the warranty I paid for and they drug their feet for over 3 months without actually fixing the heat/ac
