I went to the Leslie store located in Anna, TX. Had my water tested and bought supplies around 9:30am on Saturday morning 6/7/25. One of the supplies that I bought was a 50 Lb. bucket of Chlorine Powder. My drive is about 20 minutes away from the store. When I got home and got out of my truck, I smelt chlorine. I have a tunnel cover on my truck and just thought the bucket may have tipped over and spilt out. When I opened the tailgate, a strong odor hit me right in the face and took my breath away. I almost passed out. After I got my breath, I noticed the lid of the chlorine bucket was slightly opened. While holding my breath, I started to remove the bucket from the back of the truck. The bucket was really hot. I lifted the lid and noticed a small plastic bottle (about 1" x 3") tucked down by the side and only the top of it showing. Whatever was in that bottle was reacting with the chlorine. I removed the bucket from my truck immediately and put at the edge of my driveway. I when in to tell my wife that I need to take the chlorine back to the store and show them. By the time I got back outside the bucket was smoking really bad. I took a garden hoe and removed the lid from the bucket, as soon as I did the chlorine ignited. I called the store immediately and explained what was going on, Matthew said he needed to call his district manager. Matthew called me back and said they needed pictures or video. I asked him where I need to send that and he said, "you need to bring it in, because we need proof, we don't have anywhere you can send the proof". I told him I could not come until later because I had a funeral to go to. When I got to the store, the assistant Ryan said he was aware of the issue. Tried to call the district manager but, didn't answer due to being at a sporting event for his kid. They were texting but, not sure what was said. I showed Ryan the video but, he did not know what to do about it. At this point it was about 5 hours after the incident, and I still have not heard from the district manager. We told Ryan that this is a major deal and could have gotten someone killed. I'm writing this letter Sunday morning and still have not heard from Leslie management.
Luckly, I took this out of my truck when I did. This looks like someone deliberately put this bottle in the chlorine to do some harm. I have not got no support from Leslie's and I'm going to put this out everywhere I can on social media.
They made me feel like I was doing something shady. I have been going to Leslei's for over 5 years; I will never buy from them again.
Hello everyone, I generally consider myself a fair person. I've been a customer of Leslie pools in Norwalk about we've owned the pool for 48 years. We've been purchasing our products from Leslie pools for that long. We've been dealing with the high prices for that long. We recently had work done on our 48 year old pool for like the first time.
's new skimmers reform the bottom of the pool by the way, it's an inground pool. We found out our test kit was missing or broken or something and I went down to Leslie pools to purchase another one. They sold me their bottom line unit which is fine for me. I just wanted to test kit and it was $25 by the way, I can get it on Amazon for $10, I brought the test kit home and used it for the first time and it was a liquid chemical test kit and the test kit worked fine for the pH side of the test but the chlorine site showed zero chlorine. Any time you have zero chlorine in your pool. That's kind of a bad thing so I upped the chlorine input to the pool and tested it every day after 45 days with no change. PH is fine no Klein, we called our pool guy who came and tested the water separately and said the chlorine level was great. Don't worry about it so I brought the test kit back. They played stupid to all. Of course we don't have any problems. We've never heard that we have any problems with this unit and they said must be a bad one will give you another one and that's what they did and I took that test home and used it and what a surprise it didn't work, a week or two went by and I finally got a chance to return it and again they played stupid. They hadn't responded to the first visit return where a statement was sent to upper management about this problem. No phone calls were received no letters no anything. The guy at the store said he doesn't even know how to use that test kit. What a surprise. It's a standard test kit. It's been around for 100 years, this is the kind of attitude that they have. They just play stupid to everything. I mean if they've got a guy working the desk and he doesn't know how to use a freaking test. Kit is no business working in a sports store. Three total trips to that store got me absolutely nothing other than a refund no explanation no anything And they're still selling the product in their store. Clearly it's defective. My suggestion is buy your stuff online because you have a better chance of receiving a unit that functions and trust me Amazon does track these returns, and if they see that certain items are being returned because of being defective. Did you pull that product off their shelves 48 your customer and they treat you like that clearly it's all about the money run away from this place. Thank you for your time.
There’s clearly no professionalism at this company. We as consumers need to act together and boycott places like this one they disrespect customers and where it’s clear they’re in for the money and they don’t care about the customer.
