Taylor is Amazing! Not only does he provide an Amazing service from LawnStarter he is really great about offering other services that are needed. I travel for work and are out of town often but I never have to worry about how my lawn looks since Taylor is there to take care of whatever is needed. The prices are also very reasonable to services and anything extra that is needed. It's taken a while to find a trusted service but I have found it in Taylor and LawnStarter.

I told them that I needed a one-time service which is front and center on their website - Guess what they don't do it. After speaking with Messiah - he said I could not speak with a supervisor UNLESS I was a customer - I would not become a customer NOW because you are a deceptive, deceitful bate and switch organization! Dumb Dumb Dumb says one time mow - would not have cared if they charged me $150 dollars I needed it done once now FORGET IT

This business is absolutely horrible. Was rescheduled 3 times and no service was ever done. Today's reason for rescheduling was either for a personal reason or couldn't get around the screened in pool due to height of grass (gave both reason for rescheduling). Rescheduled 6 months for January 11 20? Do yourself a favor and hire a Real lawn service company. Lawnstarter.com just is a referral service that refers people with a truck and a lawnmower

VERY DISSATISFIED! Poor service worker damaged my yard, cut my grass uneven and way too low. Cut flowers from my flowerbed. I filed a property damaged claim and got an email back from Jessica stating she is sorry for the poor service and damaged but she will not reimburse or replace and suggest I buy grass seeds and continue to water my grass! My grass wasn't dead or damaged until their "pro" mowed it

The crew damaged my outside air conditioning unit. When I contacted the company they basically told me unless there was video evidence then they would not reimburse me for the property damage. Cost me almost 300 dollars out of my pocket and still payed 35 dollars for the cut as well! Worst customer service I've ever heard of! Even the company I hired to fix the damage knew immediately it was damage cause by a weed eater cutting the wires! Do not use this company!

Contracted for weekly service in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Wednesday or Thursday service. Was unable to consistently provide service. Missed or reschedule more appointments than was able to complete over 2 months. Missed 2 weeks in a row, then tried to charge $151 over weekly cost for "excessive high grass." First mowing was 07/03, second was 07/21, followed by 07/28,08/06 did not show week of 08/11 or 08/18. On 08/25 received estimate for $193, was informed service would not be provided until estimate was approved.

Tip for consumers:
LawnStarter did not seem to be in communication with their subcontractors.

Site did not allowing to leave a review about a provider that did poor work and did not complete my project. Very unprofessional and I was told by Lawnstarter that it isn't their problem, they o ly support customers who pay them directly. But they do falsely advertise providers who are scam artists. If you live in Houston, Id advise never hiring Matthew Wingate to complete any landscape work for you or using Lawnstarter.

My HOA likes to make a few extra bucks by levying fines when the grass is too high so I thought I would engage a professional service to mow, feed, and weed my lawn. Lawnstarter came to the top of the list saying initially they could mow within 2 days of signing up. That turned into 3 days and that turned into a no show. I texted, emailed, and used their web form and was met with silence or autoresponders. Finally, I called their customer support line. After a 10-minute muzak wait, I spoke with someone. The agent tried to contact the person assigned for my lawn and they got no answer. I have no idea what kind of service they provide because they didn't provide any.

Worked for this app first day rude customer because of the person before me, handle it the best way I could did my job got out of there. Second gig someone had already cut the yard? Third gig got called a 1950's slur handle it again, in to the next gig success well I thought NEVER GOT PAYED!?! And to top it off lawn starter deleted my account...

Try Craigslist or the kid on your street to cut your yard.

Last year, this service was decent. There were some mixups (for instance they sent two crews a couple days apart), but the quality of service was good enough for me to try them again this year.

It could not have been worse. The first two crews they sent cut my lawn so poorly that it was uneven in many places, they missed whole SECTIONS of my lawn, and they left my gate open. Thank God my dog didn't get out because he's a runner.

Then recently my service was rescheduled over and over for a period of three weeks from the original date. I contacted support and they were so inept at holding their contractors accountable. They proceeded with empty promises of getting a crew out to me asap, and offered $15 vouchers on my next mow. Only thing is... there was no next mow. I eventually accepted that my lawn was not going to be mowed by them, and had to borrow my neighbor's riding mower, as the grass was now almost 2 feet in places and way too high to cut with my mower.

I've cancelled this service and will not be back. Please heed the advice of others on here and go with a reputable lawn cutting service instead of this crap.

We scheduled for one of the lawn starter "pros" to come and mow, edge, and blow off our front and back yard. For starters, the back yard was untouched. The front yard is a terrible disaster. There are spots that were completely missed, all the yard is uneven, and the edging, what edging? The edging they did do is uneven and sloppy. There is now trash all over my yard. Not sure where that came from either. I would never recommend this company. Save yourself time and find a real professional. I could have done this job better myself, blind folded.

I ordered the lawn mowing and weeds control service. The service was delayed for more than a week. After the 1st delaying, I contacted the company every day and they promised me the job will get done as the next schedule every time. But the service have not contact me nor provide the service. I asked to talk to the manager, they always say "she is not available". This is the worst company I have ever used.
Now is a week later, they still have not mow my lawn. Called them everyday, they always say they will have someone do the job in one or two days. No they never show up. A nightmare. Never use lawn starter.com.

Juan started out taking pictures and sending me before and after shots. Then one day I got a message stating he missed the cut and to please give him a good review and he would get it the next day. Then nothing, that was in April or May. I live out of town so I can only trust the service providers word. He stopped sending pictures and clearly stopped cutting but I have spent hundreds of dollars because they keep drafting the money and told me I only have 5 days to dispute. How can I dispute if I live out of town. This is all a scam! Shame on you Juan, Ryan and the whole of Lawn Starter. I am 80 years old!

Tip for consumers:
The first contractor they sent me charged me several hundred dollars over the estimate on the site and then after I payed it, left the site and tried to get me to terms higher than the site quoted me. The second contractor started off good and then completely stopped cutting and communicating with no explanation. The company continued to take my money. I’m 80 years old and don’t even live in the city for the site. They keep taking money out of my bank account and won’t return it.

Had first cut of cutting grass at $19. The only thing done was cutting grass with no edging. My garage pole was knocked down. I communicated with servicer and was told I had to use app, which I did but before that I talked directly to servicer and had agreed on $19 first cut and $40 biweekly and cutting alley grass behind garage. After going back and forth with servicer, I decided to look elsewhere. This was a bad experience and my pole is still on the ground.

They don't loose 5-minutes to ask for review looks ok on surface then when you inspect maybe not. They already charge your card. Filing reports don't get a warp speed response they take money first. Site is scam because they do charge even if you are not happy think twice before hiring. They weed whacked plant to death. Looks like pencil

I wanted you to be aware of what exactly your customers are experiencing when trying to engage with your providers who mow the lawn and your customer service team.

I have been trying to get my yard mowed for the past two months. I have used your service in the past so I am not a new customer. However, the person assigned me to mow my lawn for two months has canceled the day of or the day after the app said they would be there for two months in a row. Many times they said it was due to weather when it was a perfectly sunny day. Other times is because they said they were dehydrated. I would try to communicate with them through the messaging app and they would just simply not respond to me.

Because he would move the service up a few days at a time, I would decide to wait, thinking the grass will be a little bit long but they will be here soon. But, unfortunately, for two months, they did not show up. By that time, I was kind of on the hook because your customer service assured me they would not charge me for overgrown grass, so I wanted it to be your company that came to fix the problem rather than having to pay a whole lot of money to a new company because the grass is so long.

I have had to spend so much time trying to work with you guys just to get my yard mowed, and it still hasn't happened. This is the whole premise of your company to have people come out and mow a yard, and I don't understand how you can't get one person to come to my house for two months when I have reached out to you guys so many times.

I have requested to change the crew, I have contacted your customer service, and just like the provider, your customer service team has led me on by saying they spoke to the mower and assured me they would be there on a certain day. However, when the person canceled again - the customer service team only would have the same solution: They would reach out to that same person who has continuously canceled on me rather than giving me a new crew. They finally told me they could not find another crew to come service my area.

Yesterday, they told me to wait by my phone all day because they will contact me by phone. No one ever called, and I kept my phone turned on right next to me the whole day waiting. They assured me yet again that someone would take care of my yard. They told me they would not charge me an overgrown grass fee, and they felt embarrassed and will make it right. But they didn't. Again.

Your service provider, as well as your customer service team, has wasted my time for two months assuring me that they would make things right and never actually following through with anything they said.

My yard is very embarrassing to me. I cannot sit in my backyard in my lawn chair, it's attracting more bugs, and I can't even play with my dog in the backyard right now. It's so overgrown. If you guys did not have enough people to come to service my yard, you all should've been honest with me upfront, so I could've just found a different service rather than moving the service back a few days until it got to this point. Still, I'm so frustrated and stressed.

It's also going to cost me a lot more money now to have someone else mow it because, of course, long grass is a lot more work than if someone had just come every two weeks as I had scheduled with you guys.

I think you should be aware of what a horrible experience it has been. Your website and app look great as a nice tech company for convenience. But first and foremost, your core product is people mowing yards. If you don't have the people to come to mow the yard it's useless and makes people's lives worse and not better.

I hope you also take this feedback and appreciate the time I spent notifying you of this experience because I'm also a business owner. I would be mortified if this was what my customers had to go through at my own company.

They did terrible job on my lawns and bushes and flower bed. They say if not satisfied you won't be charged. They charged me $146 and quoted me $119. Called 3 times and was told they would not charge me. Worst lawn service ever! Reported them to better business bureau. Want my money returned they don't deserve to keep it!

I would leave a zero rating if I could. I cancelled one mow because the previous time they came out they cut my grass too close to where you could actually see dirt. The next time they came out again they charged me double to recoup the previous cancellation siting long grass as the reason. Total BS! Bad business. The BBB has this company listed as an "F" rating. Hire them at your own risk. They will not only ruin your yard but will charge you double for it!

This is the worst company that I have ever dealt with. Please do yourself a favor and never use these people. They cancel service that has been scheduled in advance week after week.
They call their Landscapers Pros. They are far far from being any type of lawn care pro.
Mainly people who cant get a job and just go buy a lawn mower.

The customer service department is a JOKE as well.
Try getting someone that can speak English is impossible.

Showed up and did a great job the first time. 2nd time mowed the front yard, edged half of the back yard and then left. Got a text message that he couldn't access the back yard even though he had been back there and weedeated half the lawn. Then got another message that they would find another crew to finish within 48 hours. 2 days later another message that they couldn't find another crew and were unable to finish what they started. NEVER AGAIN!

The first time, they only did half the job, then I had to have them come back to mow the back yard. For the next appointment, they never showed. I messaged the crew and they said they were on their way. I was still waiting for them to show up 3 to 4 days later and the crew was still saying they were on their way. At that point I told them not to bother coming and they haven't. Bit they billed me $48 on June 15 for a service they did not do. I ended up cutting my own grass. I would not recommend this company.

We've used Lawnstarter for over a year. I was satisfied with the regular service we received. As of late, however, the mower has been late by days. We were just charged on June 21 when the mower didn't even show. That mower even damaged our grill cover but we said nothing. The incident that finally got to us is when that same mower caused a rock to fly into our window and cracked it. We made a damage report but Lawnstarter said they won't pay for the damages. We're not looking to scam them, we just want them to take responsibility for the damage their mower caused. Also, don't charge us when your mower doesn't show. We're not ones to write online bad reviews, but this is unacceptable. Picture of damaged window posted below.

Today I canceled my service after trying it for just over 2 months. I'm really frustrated, disappointed, and at this point, angry. I have had three different crews in a row come out and not mow my backyard for different reasons including: 1) "the gate was locked" (the code was in my property info from the time I signed up for service) 2) "one of my guys told me he did it" (spoiler alert, he didn't) and 3) "Your dog was in the yard" (ok, but can you not tell me you're here so I can get him inside?). Apparently they do not know how to look at my property info or ring the doorbell and ask me (I work from home 24/7) or send a message. They all just left and charged me full price. I have never had any warning they were coming to make sure my dog was inside so I had no idea there was an issue. This is unacceptable. My backyard has not been mowed in 5 weeks now and I'm hosting 50 people at my home next week. Im hiring my old lawn service back that is nearly 4 times the price but they are at least reliable and honest. I'm attaching a photo of my back yard. I have not received any of the refunds promised and I will be disputing the charges with my credit card.

This company has a serious accountability problem. I have had 3 crews post that they completed an incomplete job. Why do they not have to take photos proving they did the work? Cool in concept but there are some serious issues these people need to work on so that the customers aren't the ones jumping through hoops holding their employees accountable for the shoddy work and incompetency. This is seeming more and more like a scam. I would not recommend this to anyone.

Sent individuals with improper equipment to handle job who appeared to be high on drugs. They wanted to mow my yard in the dark showing up three hours after they messaged they were on the way. Customer service has failed to respond about getting a real company sent out. I would advise steering clear of them as they do not check out who they are sending to do the work.

I was booked on the April 12th for lawn mowing, they didn't show up, then re booked for April 25th, again didn't show up, and by now my grass is very tall and costing me three times more to cut. I called and email them so many times, and nobody bothered to call back or at least apologize. I filed a complained with the consumer protection agency in Maryland with all the communications, and payment made. This company shouldn't be in business. They lie, take money, and then you have to run after them.
