I have been a seller on Kijiji for over a year now. I have 29 five star reviews. All of my buyers have given me a 5 star review. My prices are reasonable and putting ads is quite easy. The only complaint I have are potential buyers who ask about something and you never hear from them again. That is not a fault of th4e Kijiji system, just the users. I never pay for any upgrades so the free adds and no comissions is a great way for me to do business.
Horrible, rude customer service. Racist targetting of users. Poorly managed and operated. I just requested that they delete their useless account and delete all my information. Craigslist is so much better than kijiji. And that's saying something. Kijiji is going to crash soon.
As of recent Conveniently the site gets you little views or eyes on your listings or things being sold. Unless you go through a paywall. I add a lot to my description, put in the right category, specify location, add photos. Still no views. Algorithm needs to be fixed. Also lots of WhatsApp scamming going on where people want to buy your listings via WhatsApp but conveniently never answer back they have no intention of buying off you. They just want your money. Its recommended to ignore any WhatsApp message via Kijiji. Most likely scam going on. Pay attention whoever is behind kijjiji.clean your site of this scam plague.
Horrible site, my account was suspended for some unknown reason. I never posted any ads, contacted one person about a trailer. That shouldn't have been it? Can't get an answer from customer service. Time to dump those losers,go to market place on FB Hope they go under No good anyway
Comment on appel cela déjà?
After all these years they cant even allow decent photos that go full screen even still, get with the times
KIjiji allows scammers to stay and rip people off. I was ripped off by a used car dealer in Tecumseh Ontario by the name of Mak Auto sales back in 2017. No more cars for me now because I drive an electric bicycle. Too many scammers online now so I don't see how people will be buying much from this website anymore.
Kijiji is not what's was before few years all think is mixed up expe
If l looking for bike kijiji show cars, trucks, bike, motorcycle, lightning
Looks filter not working need to much time find things.
I'm so disappointed with, before like kijiji very much.
Thanks
Site seems lost and getting worse. Same used products reappearing page after page after page make surfing a miserable experience. Search relevance is completely absent lately. Far too many "businesses" appearing in search results.
There's more but I'm done. Moving on to find the new better.
Recent changes to Kijiji.ca such as the repeated "feature" ads at the tops of pages (if I visit 5 consecutive pages, I don't need to see the same item at the top of each page again and again) and the volume of "featured" ad now being displayed (I have counted as many as 10 on each page at times) means scrolling halfway to the bottom of the page to see the items I have searched for is absurd.
Today, it appears it is now a requirement to log-in/register to see a sellers username and phone number- I did not go to Kijiji looking for things to purchase so Kijiji can farm my data.
It would appear Kijiji.ca has forgotten that its actual audience is the buyers- if no one is going there looking for products, sellers won't be selling anything and anyone paying for a "feature" ad will be throwing their money away (more so than they are already).
I hope another competitor shows up in Canada, soon- perhaps a return of the old paper sources such as "Bargain Hunter" and "Tri-Ad" in digital format.
So I saw an ad with something on Kijiji Ottawa that I wanted and checked the location. The Kijiji postcode showed that the seller's location was right downtown and easy reach by walking so I contacted him and made an offer.
When we agreed and I asked for his address, he gave me somewhere way down south of the city as his address which would have meant a much longer journey. I told him I was not happy with this and he then gave me a location in Renfrew to pick up or give him $10 to drop it off. I explained to him that I made the offer to buy based on his apparent close location and I really didn't want to travel that far or give him $10. He told me "no worry" and we parted amicably.
The next thing I know is that he gave me a negative review as someone who didn't show up and it was too late for me to respond. The fact that he has the wrong location in Kijiji (and he still has it, weeks later) suggests to me that HE is the one who needs the negative review but now I have no way to get this rescinded.
I have responded to over 15 different job opportunities part time and temporary. There has been no response back from anyone!
I have had mixed results using Kijiji. I successfully and quickly sold a chair several years ago, but could not sell other furniture as there appeared to be many similar ads. More recently I was the victim of a scammer who sold me a stolen modem which my internet service provider of course refused to allow me to use. So, no harm in trying to sell stuff - word your ad carefully and accurately. But buying things for cash is risky, particularly electronics.
The new review system they have just put into place is an absolute joke. Demanding 10 messages back and forth before you can give a review. Most times I will have 2 - 4 before I give them my cell to get the address from. If I decide to 'buy. I just bought a book scanner from a guy in courtice ontario. We had about a dozen messages back and forth before we went to text for the address etc. the deal went through without a hitch the product was exactly as stated ( actually far better than his ad. Yet, kijiji, will not let me post a review of the transaction with him. Barry Ad ID *******805.
If you read this I found you to be a very personable and helpful seller and I hopefully will be able to buy more of your items in the future.
I use to use Kijiji for buying and selling. Now I find that there are way too many stores and dealerships on this site that was suppose to be for the average person trying to sell their old stuff. I dont use it anymore. Check buy in sell marketplace in your area.
I used Kijiji for years, since the beginning for selling and for my business providing services. It was the go to place to advertise for free or a small fee. I trusted Kijiji for over 10 years for result on my ads. Now after months of ad placement, i see not one reply ever! The new format will be Kijiji's downfall.
There have been improvements to customer service at Kijiji so I applaud them for that.
Recent changes to the Kijiji website make deleting an old ad and re-posting it an annoying, time consuming process when using Windows 10 or the latest version of iOS. Loading photos is SSSLLLLOOWWWW... Using the app, as they recommend, is even slower.
Over the years I have used this website to sell or look up or find things. Lately have used them looking for a rental and twice have been contacted through kijiji by fraud artists posing as landlords with rooms to rent. Both are scams and luckily no money was sent as they ask for of course and not stupid enough to send it but some people do and disqusting how kijiji doesn't even answer my complaint that I sent them. 3 weeks ago now and no word... not good business practices? They should be accountable for whoever posts ads
Kijiji is possibly the worst place for a business or professional to advertise their services or products. While the average Joe selling his couch without paying a dime to Kijiji has it easy, the advertiser, the one with the real money is left in the gutter.
I spent $300 in one sitting on promoting multiple ads on Kijiji. First of all, their category systems is a complete fiasco. Who doesn't have a Computer or Web category under Services in this day and age?! Second, I asked for help from their support. They deleted my ads and told me to post a banner.
Here's where the fun starts. Their banners on paper look very nice and promising, although they are "managed" by a second company, Shiny Ads. I never had a worse experience with an advertiser before! I am now waiting for the weekend to be over (apparently they don't work weekends...) and asking for a full refund; at the rate my banner is going now it comes down to about $11/click (!).
In other words, stay back if you are a business. They will squeeze every penny from you and give you close to nothing in return. If you are simply a consumer, then by all means, go and sell your couch!
This site used to be a great app for buying and selling, finding employment etc. Now you get nothing but adds from third parties. Private sellers paying to post adds only to have it barried in a matter of minutes due to third party adds like indeed, and dealers. Not user friendly, no longer cost effective... quite useless in my opinion.
I received a mediocre review. Which was untrue. There is no way of disputing a bad review. Kijiji puts it out there, but then says it is nothing to do with reviews.
