“Great summer program in Denver! Exceeded my expectations...”

Katie L.
6/10/22

We had a wonderful experience at KidzToPros summer camp located in Denver. The director, Dimple, was extremely accommodating and friendly. We originally signed up for half day for the week thinking that my 9 year old would be worn out from tennis. I was surprised after the first day to hear he wanted to change to full day for the week. The director asked if she could work with him on some robotics/coding additionally which my son instantly fell in love with. The staff was very positive and caring towards my son. Without a doubt, I knew I was leaving him in good hands. Can't wait to sign up for more camps for my other kids!

“Not as advertised”

Genevra P.

The camp my son went to was advertised as engineering/STEM with some sports instruction and a space theme. He didn't do any STEM activities, only one coloring activity every day. He didn't learn anything about space. And there was no sports instruction. He seemed to spend his day independently playing tennis, snacking and lunch, one coloring activity. I even learned that he was playing games on a computer. This is not at all what was advertised for this camp and I would not have signed him up if I had known it would be like this.

I paid a fortune for classes that were canceled. All communication with this business required multiple emails, plus me following up in chat or with a phone call to get any kind of response back.

In the end I was forced to do a chargeback to get my money back as they would not respond to any request regarding a refund, despite THEM cancelling the courses.

We had a very disappointing experience with KidzToPros camp this summer. They have a nice website, but I have grave concerns about the safety and well being of children that attend their camps.

My 9 year old grandson loves Minecraft and looked forward to attending their Minecraft camp for several months. We enrolled on March 4th paid in full at that time. The camp was scheduled to begin on July 12 at a location just ten minutes from our home. On July 10 (Saturday) an email was delivered to my account at 5:09 PM stating the following:

KidzTo Pros is excited to see Michael on 7/12/2021 for a fun, enriching and
Safe summer camp experience! The camp address is: Southern Hills Middle School,
1500 Knox Dr, Boulder, CO *******, USA.

Camp name: Roblox – Obstacle Course

My first reaction was that we must have received the email by mistake. This was not the camp that we signed up for and it was located 40 minutes from our home. I attempted to call and to email them immediately. The KidztoPros customer support system was closed. Their mailbox was full so I could not leave a message. I received an automatic reply to my email stating that they would contact me within 48 hours of receipt of my correspondence. Unfortunately, camp was scheduled to start in just 36 hours.

They already had my money ($415). They offered no options to cancel or transfer to a camp of our choosing. I understand making changes because of low enrollment. I do not understand the lack of communication or choice. Professional organizations contact their customers to work out the best option they can provide when they have enrollment challenges.

Unfortunately KidzToPros is not professional. They don't answer their phone. On Monday morning, I placed a call to them at 7:30 AM. I was on hold for 1 hour and five minutes at which time they disconnected my phone call.

I would not endorse this camp nor would I enroll my grandson again. I will say that we attended as we felt we had not choice. He liked his counselors and I thought the camp director was excellent. Unfortunately, the same can't be said for the administration of KidzToPros. I would not recommend this organization.

Do not sign up for this camp. We were so disappointed in this camp and the customer service. We did not receive a welcome email as promised with information before the start of camp.

The camp director was the only adult present and did not have a list of what kids were supposed to be there. Also, he did not have a lesson plan or materials pertaining to the specific camp which we selected. Additionally, for what was supposed to be a camp for 4-6 year olds, there were much older kids presents. The camp director had no information from corporate and said he wasn't even sure what he was going to do with the kids.

Needless to say I felt it was unsafe for my child, especially since the camp was unaware of any specific needs, medical issues, food allergies that my son may have let alone they didn't even know he was supposed to be there. Absolute incompetence and disorganization. I immediately began to pursue a refund from customer service with multiple emails and calls with no movement. I felt I deserved a refund because the services I paid for were not given. This absolutely justifies a full refund. Only after filing a BBB complaint, they have a D- rating there by the way, did I receive a call back from upper management. After speaking to multiple people in manangement, I was told they would only give me a credit to use at another one of their camps. I would NEVER use this camp again after what happened, so a credit was not an acceptable offer. I had to file a dispute with credit card company to get my money back. I thought it was important to inform all who are considering this camp that this is not the one for your kids. Research for yourself. So many other bad reviews regarding poor safety, disorganization, last minute changing of camps or locations, and horrible experiences.

I'm a former instructor with KidzToPro, which I liked at first, but soon went downhill. They have u write down ur 5 most preferred classes u want to teach, and they never gave me any that I had on my list, not one. So I'm going into it already a bit uncomfortable...I begged to teach chess (one of my hobbies) but for some reason I never got to, only Minecraft and other computer classes which I specifically asked not to have to do. So having u write down ur preferences is really meaningless...
They also asked my 5 top preferred locations to teach at within San Diego County...and guess what, it didn't even matter cuz they put me on El Cajon the entire school year anyway, and I live in Coronado but the commute wasn't even the worst aspect. At one point my manager said he loved having me there but honestly wouldn't have even hired me had he known I lived so far away (from El Cajon)...what?!? They put me in El Cajon, despite asking me my preferred locations much closer to home. It's like they offer u some aspect of autonomy but it's only pseudo democratic, they place u wherever *they* want or need despite making a point of asking u for ur preferences.
There are some nice people in management but overall it is a very disorganized mess...a teacher at one of the schools I taught a class at told me and another instructor that it's been such a disorganized, unsystematic process (with management) that they almost canceled KidzToPro's contract with them. Me and everyone I worked with signed up to teach their summer camp, we even signed a document via email committing to do so aka a summer work contract...but later they forgot about them and we're doing a different summer camp program anyway (?), for which I was told that I actually wouldn't be able to do the job cuz of low enrollment, so NO summer camp happening at all. Weirdly on the instructor group chat I saw clearly and obviously summer camp was happening throughout the summer, so I asked why I was told differently, and the response I got was that the program I'd signed up to teach had insufficient enrollment, but every one else signed up for a different program (like, what?), we all signed up for the same program! In fact the response was a phone call with a very bizarre, hollow and defensive explanation which left me very confused with basically a word salad explaining nothing. I ended up getting a different summer gig. In early August they call me out of the blue, and literally BEG me to come fill in for someone (in the summer program that WAS happening) who came down with pneumonia, I jumped to it immediately, they even called me at 8:25am (camp starts at 9am) to come fill in last minute for that day/week, in Del Mar which is 20 miles from where I live, I still jumped in the car and got there fast, but apparently my reliability and willingness to drop everything and come rescue them that day again meant nothing...few days later I get a phone call from management with the offer to continue working for the fall, I say yes. Literally the very next day, I get an EMAIL saying they no longer need me and we're letting me go(?!) and would absolutely not communicate with me when I asked the reason, complete avoidance of my texts, calls, voicemails, emails, etc. I called several times to few different people in management, NONE ever answered, but I called a few with a different phone and they all picked up that time, but then just blew me off completely. They lie to me so I couldn't work for the summer, but when they were in an acute crisis they called me up and begged me to come in on extremely short notice, and then just blew me off afterwards when they no longer needed me. Then I get another email from my direct manager saying they're letting me go because of either again "low enrollment" (which is complete bull$#*!) or some strange and obviously fake excuse, but would still give me a good recommendation for the future. Da $#*!? The management I dealt with were extremely unprofessional, disrespectful and really have no place to be running a business.

PLEASE BE AWARE OF THIS COMPANY. My full review is below. I am on week 3 of trying to get a refund and they continue to not call me back, not allow me to speak to someone beyond the initial call taker. I have to explain the same thing to various intake people and no one calls me back that can actually process a refund. I was told today only a credit for another camp would be offered. Total scam and you will not get what you are promised!

My wife and I enrolled my son, in the Arduino: Circuits and Science camp at Harriet Sayre school in Chicago, IL. I am requesting a full refund. I will also call the customer service number to facilitate this request.

The camp was initially scheduled for June 13th-17th, but due to availability at the school, they changed the date to July 11th-15th. We made the accommodation and changed our schedules.

My son attended today, July 11th (first day) and here is a summary:

Per the website (and confirmation we received), the camp was scheduled to run from 8:30am-5pm. According to the directions we received, I was to arrive 10-15 minutes early before the beginning of camp. I was directed to drop my son off and not to get out of the car. There would be someone to get him and guide him into the building.

I arrived at 8:10, drove around the building several times, and saw no signs posted where to bring him. At 8:20am, I called the school and the main office said to try door #5 near the parking lot and someone would meet us there. At 8:30am, someone came out and posted a sign in the street telling people where to go. There was another mom and her son who were also lost.

I spoke with the director John and he told me that camp ends at 4pm but that they can keep the kids until 5pm if necessary. The camp was advertised as ending at 5pm (not camp ending at 4pm with daycare for an hour).

The objective of the camp per the website was as follows: Campers will learn the science behind some common household technology while building their own pretties with Arduino. The inner workings of remotes, thermometers, and robotics will be studied. Each day, students will build their own circuit projects with Arduino.
-The class did not have any Arduino equipment and/or supplies.
-They used Legos for the build.
-After lunch, students from the "Film Studio" class joined my son's class and my son was asked to teach/assist the "film studios" students with a lego build (not sure why the Film Studios Class would be spending their time building with legos)
-Sometime between 3-3:30, both classes were brought to the gym where a teacher had them do laps, sprints, followed by 30 minutes of basketball and dodgeball.
-When I picked my son up at 4:00, I heard one of the instructors mentioning how a kid got hit in the head with a ball (not my son).

This was my son's first day of camp. Based on the lack of organization, failure to have the required equipment stated in the description, ending the camp an hour earlier than stated, and not being able to meet the stated objectives and provide a full day of learning about science and circuits, I am requesting a full refund.
