The watch, supposedly checked before delivery, arrived with a major defect and cannot be correctly timed. Despite the contacts, no real solution was offered to me. I am told a delay of several months for a repair and still it is not sure that there are parts because the limited series is over. It's a real scandal and I'm still waiting for the solution. I sent the photos and they sent me a user manual denying the whole problem. Since more news, I am told to fend for myself.

I have called repeatedly on the service phone line and the mailbox is full and I can't leave a message and no one answers. I have received a response from Cheryl P who says she sent me a RMA # and and return label and to check my emails for Sept 6. I did this in both emails in Junk, trash and regular. No return label no RMA # after 2 other emails I have received an RMA # with a message that I would be sent a return label in a few seconds. That was 7 am this morning and it is now after 5 pm. No return label. It s very frustrating for me and high labor on my part. Not to be recommended. The shipment out to me was beautiful. The return process absolutely sucks.

Watch received was not set to correct time. As there is a separate second, date and day dial, it was difficult to set. No booklet or paperwork was included with the watch. I called for assistance, and was very disappointed in the lack of compassion for my issue. She kept telling me that normally they send the watches out correctly, but this was a mistake. Like it was no big deal. I could go through the hassle of shipping it back and being home to sign when it was returned or I could take it somewhere to be set. I explained there would be a charge for this. She insisted there would not be. I took it to a local jeweler after calling a few. They ALL charge to set a watch not purchased from them. Additionally, I found the EXACT same watch for 1/2 the price while I was searching for a manual (the day it arrived). I explained this to the sales woman at JR Dunn and she explained that the service if there was an issue would not be the same as it may not be an authorized Michelle dealer....I should have purchased it for half the price as she was not helping me either!

In fact, I found out the status of the order when I checked it online and had a live chat. So it took and extra 10 days to get delivered.

I don't understand the points program. It seems that your earned reward dollars should be usable toward any purchase as they were earned from previous purchases. When I placed my order it would not let me use my rewards together and also would not let me use them in conjunction with a promo code. If they are truly rewards, then you should be able to use them like a payment method and not a promotion.

You carry the Philip Stein bracelets for their watches which is why I shopped with you. It took me 3 days to reach a representative which was frustrating. I'm a gemologist and worked as an account executive for Tiffany & Co. in their N.Y. store - your merchandise is beautiful but your online ordering process and ability to reach a rep. by phone needs improvement. When I did speak to Cheryl she was helpful but told me the bracelet I wanted to order might not fit my watch - I've already order a bracelet for a Philip Stein watch from another vendor and it fit just fine. She was trying to be helpful but might be misinformed. I decided to order the bracelet anyway and if it doesn't fit I'll return it - thank you. Eve

I trust there will be no re-stocking fee if the Michele band I bought does not attach properly to my watch head (as has happened before with another retailer) and it needs to be returned?

I went to the site because they carried a ring I was looking for as a gift. The site offered free overnight shipping, but the promo code did not work. They also offered a 10% off first customer discount, but the promo code did not work as well. I waited a week and a half for ground shipping only to receive the item that was not the correct size. Return policy is terrible, if I am spending over $300 they should offer free returns and assist through the process. I contacted Customer Service only to never receive a follow up. It was a gift and the receiver decided they still liked it so I didn't opt to return.

Business History

James Robert Dunn started his career in 1967 as a sales representative for IBM. During a sales call to a jewelry company in Malden, MA, Jim picked up a magazine about the jewelry business and became intrigued. When his schedule allowed, Jim took correspondence courses in gemology, and went to New York to learn about diamonds and colored stones. “I bought a little microscope and I was playing scientist at home,” he said.

While at IBM, Jim met his future wife, Ann Marie Pelliccia, who was working as an executive secretary. Like Jim, she was driven by an entrepreneurial spirit. She was 10 years old when her family immigrated to this country from Italy. It didn’t take long for Ann Marie to master the English language and become the interpreter for her father’s cabinet-making business. She went to work every day after school with her father from age 11 until she graduated high school. Soon after, she joined the team at IBM. “It was IBM that helped us forge our philosophies about customer service and business ethics,” said Ann Marie.

The couple married in 1969 and together decided to take a chance by starting a jewelry business. With their savings of $10,000, the couple purchased a small house in Hanover, MA and converted it into their first jewelry store, The House of Gems.

During the first year, their store was burglarized and every piece of jewelry was taken, including customers’ repairs. To make matters worse, the Dunns were in between insurance policies. The couple went from door to door informing and reassuring each client that their prized possessions would be replaced. Ann Marie and Jim paid for the stolen jewelry out of their own pockets to preserve their reputation of integrity and trust.

Word spread when the couple made good on their promise, and business began to grow by leaps and bounds. The House of Gems soon outgrew its tiny location. Jim and Ann Marie relocated the store to a nearby mall in South Weymouth, MA and changed the name to J.R. Dunn Jewelers, emphasizing the importance of the family-owned and operated business.

In 1978 the couple relocated to South Florida and opened a small jewelry boutique, serving a select clientele by appointment only. This is when the Dunns were fortunate enough to have 18-year-0ld Robert Pelliccia, Ann Marie’s brother, come on board at the age of 18 and eventually start creating one-of-a-kind custom creations for their discerning clients. It didn’t take long for J.R. Dunn Jewelers to outgrow its location once again; that brought about the monumental decision to purchase a 6,000 square-foot building on Federal Highway in Lighthouse Point, Florida.

Today, J.R. Dunn Jewelers has expanded to 8,000-square-feet showroom in Lighthouse Point and is an Official Rolex Jeweler conveniently located between Boca Raton and Ft. Lauderdale just and just under an hour from Miami.
