I bought copies of MS Office for both my work computer (Mac) and my home (PC). Submitted my paystub for verification and had everything up and running inside an hour. I don't like that if my comp crashes that I have to repurchase if I don't have the download anymore, but having a cloud drive solved that. This is my second purchase from JourneyEd and I plan to make more. The prices are unbeatable.
I bought software from JourneyEd that had a 6-month term. The software was SPSS. About 3 months into the 6 months, the software stopped working with an error message that my serial number had expired. I e-mailed dozens of times and never got a response from them. Absolute ripoff and non-existent customer service.
This site is little more than an aggregating tool. They DO NOT offer anything special to students that students--or anyone--could not find with a ten second google search. Not only that, but their "deals" on tech are more expensive than five minutes on Ebay, or pretty much any other site. The fact that they sell themselves as a site offering a special service to students, with special access, is not only misleading, it's manipulative and deceptive. DO NOT trust a site that claims to have your best interests in mind as student or teacher, and then offers nothing you can't find in a couple minutes yourself, at a better deal. Maybe use the site as a reference point, but DO NOT believe you are getting the best deal just because they say it. It only gets second star because maybe it can help those new to the game as a bit of a reference or a starting point on where to go next.
BEWARE: A complete and utter mess and disaster. They have a sub contracted shipping arm that messes up all orders that are entered.
PROBLEM: You place the order, they send it to the shipper, and the shipper garbles the information. When you track the order with FedEx and find that its stuck due to incorrect information, you cannot go back to JourneyEd -- they are not the actual shipper. But contacting the actual shipper is only possible by them, and they can only email their shipper. Its nuts.
I waited 4 weeks and placed and re-placed orders, only to finally have Visa rip the whole order out by the root.
SCARY REALITY: They own academic superstore and almost all the other educational discount online stores, over ******* of them!
I recommend getting the same discount from the actual software publisher, such as Adobe, etc.; you get it directly, and almost immediately, same discount.
JOURNEYED.com has terrible customer service. They follow the "we're really sorry but we can't do anything further until the shipper addresses our correspondence" protocol. Its terrible.
