AVOID AVOID AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
I purchased a Blackveiw phone through Joom as it was £20 ($25 USD) cheaper than getting it straight from the manufacturer. This was a BIG mistake and I strongly and wholeheartedly encourage anyone with a shred of brain cells to NOT USE JOOM.
The phone arrived and straight on arrival through setting the phone up, both WiFi and Bluetooth DID NOT WORK. I troubleshooted this for a day trying different types of resets, everything suggested from every forum online, I did this for 8 hours to make sure that this was a fault on the hardware end and it could not be fixed. I even ended up even re-flashing the OS of the phone and still this did not fix it. There was an audible rattle from the phone and I came to the conclusion somewhere along the manufacturing line that the WiFi and Bluetooth chip - both located in the same place within the phone, had burnt off. This was the rattle I could hear.
I got in touch with Joom support, and Blackveiw via them. This began a saga that lasted TWO MONTHS of back and forth emails. This totaled to >>>>> 41 EMAILS <<<<< in order to get the refund. This required a stage of using their useless engineers to "help me" try to fix the phone where they suggested to try different things I had already tried. They wanted me to send screenshots and screen recordings of me showing the problem I was stating was indeed there. They also sent me an OS of the phone to flash myself at my own time and energy cost using advanced phone software I had already used. To ask this of a consumer is COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE by all stretches of reasonability. This is when I decided I'm getting my money back whatever the costs because I am a well meaning person, but ** this company.
Read this carefully: It was clear by the amount of emails and roadblocks they put in my way that any reasonable adult would give up in this process for just a £140 phone. Their support is designed for you to give up so they can keep your money. This is not an opinion this is fact from the 41 emails it took to get my refund.
Their reply times were usually 2 to 4 business days, but there were two cases where they asked for 10 business days to get back to me. Utterly disgusting. The lengths they went to to try to encourage me to give up is almost comical. I had to threaten them with legal action on two occasions just to get them moving along and at their own very slow pace.
They also required me to take a full video from showing the phone in my hand to it being completely wrapped up and labeled with no cuts. Showing that there is zero trust on my end. What goes around comes around. This company is disgusting and I will NEVER be shopping with them again. Please don't make the same mistake as me.
In the end I had to create a drive folder with 6+ forms of media they asked for throughout this process, the post was paid for by me and reimbursed through Paypal, totally unprofessional.
I will be posting this write up on every review site I can find and including a screenshot of the 41 emails to the useless support team where I can.
I only got my money back because I took it as my personal duty to not lose to the big, greedy, heartless companies we all live within in this age and culture. If I was to pay myself my hourly wage on getting this refund I would have made over £500.
AVOID EVER USING THIS COMPANY.
The people in management of the processes of this company should be ashamed of the service they deliver. Despicable.
To all consumers everywhere: LOOK ELSEWHERE MY FRIENDS.
Do not use this site.
I bought a very broken phone.
