Jet is spotty
February 16, 2017

First I ordered bounty full sheet tool paper towels. They came late but came. I live out in the boonies on a dirt road. The driver said he's the regular driver and would learn the area. That was encouraging.
Then I bought several small and irregular items and three colors of toner. They all came to my PO box which is preferable to not at all. But those came quick. Only one thing, the cyan was the only toner that showed up. I looked on my email receipt thinking and knowing I bought three colors, but there was no hint I had bought the others. Fair enough. They had to have been out of stock and just removed them from my list. But the meat based cat food, two bags were still not delivered. Tracking showed they made it to the hub but were undeliverable. This was Feb 8 during our constant storms and rain. But our road is muddy but we have been getting g through in 2wd. So it appears the driver is afraid of the mud. It's Feb 16 and still no cat food. Yesterday I tried to arrange for them to deliver to a Freinds house that is on paved road. I had to call jet and OK it and I had to call ontrac and OK it ( guess ontrac just has jet.com painted on the side) so I waited all day. My Freind said no show. Jet is really good about emailing back quickly. But two reps emailed me. One said it wasn't possible to modify the address and the other said we could. A different t one emailed me this am and said for security reasons we couldn't change the address. So I told them to keep the cat food and I would drive 60 miles to Reno to pick up my catfood.
So for me, home delivery is a bust in the winter at least. It their PO box delivery works OK.

No, No, No, No... Did I say "No?"
January 20, 2017

Based on good prices, the promise of fast shipping, and an offer of 15% off my first three orders, I decided to give Jet a try. I am a longtime Amazon shopper, going back to when the only product they offered was books, and I buy thousands of dollars of necessities and gifts on Amazon & E-Bay each year, among many other sites

Bottom line -- never again! If they offer the merchandise for free, delivered in one hour by the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition Cover Model, still NO

My first three orders, all multiple food products containing liquids, ALL damaged badly with liquids leaking all over the box. The packaging was so thoughtlessly done that it was virtually impossible for it to arrive intact. It was akin to shipping a bowling ball and a crystal vase, loose, in an oversized box. I'm not kidding -- in this case, loose, half-gallon jugs of liquid vs. loose fruit cups with plastic, tear-off wrappers

They made some attempt to make things right, but the second damaged shipment was in part a replacement for the first damaged shipment, and since that one leaked so bad the shipper wouldn't even deliver it, the third damaged shipment was a replacement for that, so you can see where this is going.

They also have some sort of bizarre supply chain where a product available today may not be tomorrow. And I don't just mean that some DEAL has expired, I mean they don't have the product AT ALL. How on Earth is anyone supposed to shop regularly at a merchant whose stock is randomly available or not

They also feature no reviews. For food products, I guess reviews are nice, but food is so personal that I'll generally try almost anything once, then keep track of what I like for future orders. But for lots of other things, reviews are critical. I am an active reviewer on Amazon, and I tend to do very well interpreting the reviews on products I am interested in buying. On Jet, nada

Finally, Jet regularly makes a mistake that Amazon makes only occasionally. Jet seems to have ONTRAC as a preferred shipper. ONTRAC is by a very wide margin the WORST shipper on the Planet, and if there are other shippers operating, say, on the Jovian Moons, I'll bet they are also better than ONTRAC. Jet's inability to pack a simple shipment is only going to be exacerbated by ONTRAC's routine mistreatment of the packages entrusted to them

So, in conclusion: No. Just No. You have been warned

Worst experience ever!
September 23, 2016

I looked everywhere for the perfect media cabinet and found it on Jet.com for a great price. I guess I received what I paid for, poor service. I ordered the product on September 5. My product was estimated to be delivered between September 13 - 20. I received an email from Jet.com on the afternoon of September 19 stating that my shipment had been delayed and to contact the company should I have any questions. I did. I was informed that Jet.com had not had any contact the merchant (What!?!) and did not know if my order could be filled. I felt this was very unprofessional on the part of the merchant, Jofran, and told Jet.com if I did not receive my order by September 23 to cancel my order and issue me a refund.
On September 22, I received a call from the delivery company, RL Carriers. They stated that my order would be delivered the next day between 10-12 and I would get a call 30 mins before they arrive. (GREAT!) They asked would an 18 wheeler be able to come in my neighborhood. I told them I had seen some 18 wheelers before in our neighborhood. RL Carriers contacted me again the morning (9ish) of "delivery" to ask again if an 18 wheeler could come in my neighborhood. I repeated what I said the day before and added that if they were afraid to use the 18 wheeler please use another type of vehicle. The deliveryman said he would call me back. After 3 hours of silence, I called the delivery company and was told my order was out for "delivery". I still had not heard anything from them at 4:30. I called again. Their response, "It is out for delivery and we will call you back soon." He called me back at 5 to ask if I had stairs. I informed him that I do. He stated that his company does not do stairs. What!?! What delivery company does not do stairs and why did was I not asked this yesterday or earlier? Why was I not informed of this when placing the order on Jet.com nor was I informed of this when I inquired about the order earlier in the week. I told them to take the order back as I was not able to carry it up the stairs myself.
I contacted Jet.com and told them everything that had happened in the past 2 days and asked that I be issued a refund. The customer service representative stated that it would take 10 business days after they receive the product back in the warehouse before I would be issued a refund and that refusals, as my order was deemed because they do not deliver up stairs, would be delayed a little longer.
I have ordered every type of product you can imagine including furniture (just received 2 sofas from Wayfair earlier this week) and have never heard of anything like this from the delivery to the refund situation. I will NEVER order from Jet.com or Jofran nor would I ever use this delivery company.

Avoid Jet.com
August 26, 2016

I tried to place an order at Jet.com in April 2016. It was a gift. I placed the order and got a confirmation email. Then a day later I got an email from Jet saying my order was canceled. I called them to ask why my order had been canceled. The agent - at the number that's supposed to be Jet's customer service help number - said she wasn't able to tell why my order had been canceled. I asked her why not. She said she wasn't privvy to that info. I asked why she was answering the phone at Jet's customer service number if she couldn't answer customer-service questions. She said she didn't know. She told me the people that can figure out my order snafu were not in the building. I asked when they'd be back and available to talk to me. She said she didn't know! Then she admitted that there actually WERE some order department specialists physically there. I said I'd hold to talk to them. She said they were too busy and the hold would be long. I said I didn't care; I needed the issue resolved. I waited on hold. Then she returned and sheepishly promised to have someone call me back right away.

Someone from Jet eventually called me back from the Jet order placement/fraud dept and said that my order had been canceled because the shipping address was different from my billing address. So, nobody ships things to other people!? Don't people sometimes have two homes? There are a LOT of baby boomer snowbirds in this country! And why - if my order raised red flags - had I received an order *confirmation* email first (with an order number) saying my order was aplaced and then I got a *cancellation* email 24 hours later?!

So, then I had to speak to this fraud specialist guy and answer grilling questions about my card's billing address. I had to prove the card was mine - as he pulled up a map on his computer - by providing the names of multiple crossroads near the billing address and the name and address of the bank where the debit card was issued. Then he asked why there was a discrepancy in addresses and asked how many months of the year I spend at the address associated with the debit card. WHAT?! I told them I was disgusted by all this third degree crap and I wouldn't be using their web site. Someone from Jet then apologized via email and added credit into my Jet account for my troubles. I was angry already and I ended up ordering the gift item at another web site.

Fast forward to August. I decided to utilize the credit in my Jet account and give Jet a second chance. I tried to use a coupon code that gives me 15% off my order, which was located on the home page. The site wouldn't honor it, saying it was good only for "new customers".

I tried multiple other codes that were good for 15% off my first three orders with Jet. I AM a new customer; I've NEVER placed an order there! Yet, I kept getting a red error code that said "code invalid; only good for FIRST TIME customers". Again, I had never placed an order with Jet! So I wrote an email to Jet and I was told to try another code. The same thing happened AGAIN. I was flustered and I wrote back. Eventually, someone at Jet went in to my account on their end and manually applied a 15% off code. Whew! I wrote them a thank you email. I was relieved that I could finally place my order containing items that had been sitting in my cart for 2 days.

I placed the order. Immediately I received two emails from Jet at the exact same time. One email said my order was placed successfully and one email said my order was CANCELED! (Both emails referenced the same order number and arrived in my inbox at the exact same minute). This time, I was shipping to myself, so the debit and shipping addresses were the same. So, I knew that wasn't the reason for the cancellation. I checked my order on their site, and lo and behold, all of the items in my order indeed said "canceled" next to them.

I called the customer service number again. By this time, I was feeling defeated and ready to give up. The woman there was very pleasant but - surprise - she said she didn't know why the order had been canceled. She asked me to hold for someone who could explain it. I waited. Eventually she came back and said that I would be getting an email explaining that their system made an error, I hadn't done anything wrong, and that my order was canceled mistakenly by THEM. WHAT?! So, I opened my email while the woman was still on the phone. I did receive an email and it stated that the cancellation was their error. The directions were for me to reenter the web site and press the "place order" button. Well, that button was not an option. My order had been canceled so there was no way to choose "place order" because my cart was empty. So, the customer service agent said that she would re-place my order for me and send a confirmation email. She did, and the order did go through.

It should not be this exasperating to place an order at a web site. The company needs to work on the tech aspects of their site. I do plenty of online shopping and I have no issues with other sites like Drugstore.com, Amazon, and Chewy.com.

It is also entirely possible that I was a victim of the "bait and switch" move that they appear to be pulling on customers. It doesn't seem like a coincidence to me that when my earlier order was canceled 24 hours after I'd placed it, the item I was attempting to buy went up in price by $50 on their web site after they'd canceled my order. It seems that Jet frequently cancels orders on customers only to tell them they don't know why it happened. Then they instruct customers to go back to their site and try buying the item(s) again. Invariably, the price(s) of the item(s) has/have risen.

The whole shopping experience at Jet.com has left me feeling exhaustedand suspicious. The customer service reps are all nice; Jet has that in their favor. I can't help but wonder, though, if people there are just placating me or talking down. It's like they're on happy pills even if I get grumpy with them.

I won't shop at Jet again. There are plenty of things in life that raise my blood pressure and make me frustrated and stressed. Online shopping shouldn't be one of those things.

Smarmy Fraudsters
May 11, 2016

For the first few months I had good experiences with Jet. Their prices were sometimes lower than Amazon and the few times there were issues with shipping (which I could understand because they are a new company), customer service was responsive.
I had even been using their JetAnywhere cashback service to make purchases on other websites in exchange for Jet credit.

That all changed a few weeks ago.
I was planning a home improvement project and spotted what appeared to be some great deals at Jet for some items I needed. I placed a big order for slightly over $1000. Some of the deals seemed almost too good to be true, but I thought worst case I would not get my entire order. A couple hours later I received a notification email they cancelled my order without explanation. I didn't make much of it at the time and figured they must be out of stock of some item.
A few days later I noticed I was unable to log in to my account.

I contacted their customer support who told me in an impersonal and generic reply that my account had been "suspended indefinitely" for "using single-use promotional codes multiple times, activity indicative of buying items for resale, or otherwise using our site or services in an unintended way."
I was taken aback and sent a reply explaining my reasons for my recent purchase which were personal and not against their terms. I politely requested that if they would not reinstate my account to please refund my store credit.

I have copy-pasted their outrageous response below:
"Thanks again for reaching out.
Unfortunately, we are unable to refund the Jet Cash. The Jet Cash that was issued was done so under the blanket terms of use of our Jet Anywhere program. Since we have determined that you have violated Jet.com's terms of use, your Jet Cash is subsequently forfeited.
We have found that your account activity indicates that you are buying items for resale, most likely overseas. Your account is closed and we will not be reactivating your account or restoring any of your Jet Cash.
Thanks so much and have a great night.
Sincerely,
Jet Head Order Verification
Jet.com"

My first thoughts were "'for resale, most likely overseas' are you ****ing kidding me?" Like I am going to buy Chinese made junk in America and ship it back to China?
What really gets me is the totally disingenuous and smarmy "Thanks so much and have a great night."

The assertion was so ridiculous I was left speechless. How can one argue against a company that has reached such an outlandish conclusion? Considering they chose not to leave any name, I can only conclude that false accusations and theft (with a smile) are standard company policy.
I am unable to verify the amount of store credit I had because I cannot log in to my account, but I think it was around $60. The amount is enough to hurt but not enough to be worth suing. It feels like a schoolyard bully stealing your lunch money.

Jet is not a company to be trusted. Shop here if you want your money stolen and told *you* are the criminal. I have never experienced worse service.
Stick with Amazon if you value your time and have any self respect. Any pennies you might save at Jet are outweighed by grief.
