“Many fees for an efficient solution”

Francesco G.
6/24/23

The platform is clear and perfectly working. The communication, even if overseas, is quick and responsive. I would like to use it again (especially for Yahoo Japan Auctions) but, although there's an expenses calculator, I've noticed many fees aftewards the auction was won. The final amount was a little bit more consistent than the expectations, especially the 10% fee that Yahoo Auctions took was not mentioned on the FAQ i previously read. Anyway timing, packaging and the product I bought were exactly as I supposed to be.

“To many fees and terrible packaging”

Reubin S.

They have way to many different fees there are cheaper options out there, and there shipping is terrible to much paper fill that collapses and it makes the package much larger then it needs to be and just cost you more money, items arrived ok but it did not need that much wasteful fill material I will never us there service again there are better options

As a service they are fantastic, but I've only just now noticed the charges on my invoices for the goods, and shipping, and then other which is their charges for the packing and storage. My last order was 9500jpy approx. Goods and 9628jpy Shipping but the other was 9231jpy which at the moment is close to £51? On top of the shipping itself which was over £50 it can cost a lot more than I thought so please bare this in mind when buying. Not only that if it gets shipped by DHL they just invoiced me for £49 import duty on £50 worth of goods, this is not Juace fault but in their invoice, I feel it should just be for the value of goods only not the whole charge. For service, you can't fault the excellent way they pack your goods but for me, this will be my last order from Japan as it cost way more than expected.

Although it can be quite expensive to post to the UK you can't say they don't take great care when posting your items. Every item has been wrapped and protected to make sure it arrives in A1 condition. Wish some UK companies would follow the care that these guys do, very happy

Verified purchase

I have bought from Jauce several times. Here's my guide for others to use :) Auctions in Japan are super cheap - the yen is in freefall and there are SO many amazing deals you can find on the site. But please understand that the price you win an auction for is only 50% of the costs. Jauce is very clear about the fees they charge for their service. Make sure to read them.

Tips for buying on Jauce.
1) Do not just buy 1 item. International Shipping fees can almost never be justified if you only have 1 item. If you want to make it worth your while, you have to divide the shipping costs between multiple items.
2) Don't buy things you can easily access in your own country.
3) When bidding on auctions do not wait until the last 30 seconds. The connection between your IP address and Jauce's servers takes at least 1 minute to connect.
4) Identify an item you like. Save that category to your bookmarks. Makes it a lot easier to find similar products in the future.
5) The best deals are often the ones without time extensions.
6) Understand the fees.
Example:
If you buy a motorcycle repair item for ¥1,000 you also have to add:
- ¥300 Banking Fee
- ¥480 in Auction Fees (400 flat fee + 8% of auction price)
- Local Delivery Fee: A few offer this for free. Otherwise, you can check the description for what kind of service provider they use. If they write "yu-pack 60" you can go to yu-packs website and see the cost. Local delivery fee depends on the location of sender. Okinawa is very expensive. Jauce's warehouse is in Tottori so you calculate the price between sellers location and Tottori.
- International Delivery is expensive. Weight is very important. Be conservative in your estimates. 1 KG of products will cost between ¥1500-2500.
So if you win a repair item for ¥1000 - it will end up costing you around ¥3800. And that's without VAT, customs, and Jauce Deposit Fees (3.8%).

Overall, there are many really, really good deals on Jauce. I've bought things for ¥2000-3000 that would cost ¥******* in Denmark. If you are unsure about the price of an auction, it's probably not worth it unless you really want it. There are so many things on Jauce - be picky and you can find real gems.

My item arrived broken. The processing time for the refund was long, but finally the insurance was paid by JP and Jauce credited me for the shipping and other fees associated with this item.
Despite the delay, I am very happy with the outcome and subsequent excellent level of service.

I got respond very quickly and well explain. All the items was wrapped carefully in a huge box.
Too many fees and tax add up from 25-30% on top of the auction but it worth the buy.
I am quite satisfy with Jauce

Excellent website, very well packaged and arrived in less than a week - highly recommended service.

But please use a different review service - preferred the older one.

Very conscientious and relatively quick to answer questions for the sellers. Extremely good packers and when you pay for expedited you get just that

This is another platform you can purchase JDM items not available in your country. JAUCE is good for you only if you get items that are cheaper than what you pay for back home, likely used items or those that are on really good offer and getting in bulk to ship together. Reason being that JAUCE charges you fees prior to your purchase followed by bank fees, etc which adds up, their shipping fees aren't exactly low also. Its how their office works to sustain this business which is not wrong so that is why my reason stated as above to make it beneficial for you.

Normally no issues with Jauce, however, I collect Japanese guitars and they have on occasion put 2 guitars in a mega sized box. This is awkward for lifting and also it takes lots longer in customs as the total value means more time at the clearance depot
So Jauce, pleaeeeeassse DO NoT Double up!
Cheers

The service and shipping fees are a bit costly but still much better then purchasing from a lot of other online sites which charge even higher for shipping.

I think buyers have to realise that shipping isn't going to come cheap since it's shipping out from Asia to Europe and America. And the service fees are necessary since the proxy site has to pay it's staff and other overheads.

Overall, good proxy site with great customer service.

Excellent, i like the idea or paying separately for the item and for the shipping
Jauce is very efficient from the deposit to the shipping, even if the deposit system is new for me

There is one only bad point to my eyes: the ¥639 fee for a won auction for an item less than ¥3000, plus the ¥300 bank charges, especially since there are already charges from paypal
This looks somehow too much for me, as it makes the charges a third of the item price
I would have appreciated something more proportional

Happily the service is top notch quality, and i don't regret my purchase

My items arrived in the condition as advertised. The packaging was very good.
All additional charges was a surprise to me as a first time buyer but now I know how it works.

A little expensive but worth it as the selection is the best on this site. I have tried other sites and it seems key words do not get the results jauce does. My only complaint would be the translations are not that great but if you look at enough items you can usually figure out what things mean. I will be using this site for now on a strong 4 stars!

A Great concept, but all of the little extras add up to quite a bit. Very easy, efficient and convenient. But, a little expensive...

Great for rare parts from Japan.

What a great service, from bidding, winning and receiving.
Yes the hidden costs are a pain, but to get and receive items from Japan, half way round the world is worth it.

Items are as described, packing excellent, fast ship. Auction fees are high and direct contact with sellers not permitted. Those are the two downfalls.

I was happy to receive the component in good condition. The packing was excessive for the component, specifically the size of the box the item was shipped inside. The box could have easily been half the size it was shipped in with sufficient packing to ensure the item was not damaged in shipment. The size of the box, increased the shipping weight and cost significantly. A 11 X 12 X 6 box would have been sufficient to ship the item. The 21 X 16 X 11 box was excessively large, and directly affected the shipping cost.
