I will first give you context to this review. I am someone who sent in a very expensive laptop that they quoted as having a value of $0 for a bunch of nonsense reasons and offered to "recycle" it which means take it for free obviously. They said all kinds of things were wrong with it, you will find out from reading others reviews that they will invent things wrong to avoid paying you what they originally promise you.
The first thing I will point to you is all of the complaints on the BBB for being the kind of business that they are. https://www.bbb.org/us/fl/sanford/profile/tablet-equipment/itsworthmorecom-llc-*******8763/complaints
Should the BBB really have to get involved to make ItsWorthMore pay people for what is sent to them?
The second thing I will point to is their hostile work environment (and I have never worked for them) that you can read all about on indeed here.https :// www.indeed.com/cmp/Itsworthmore.com-LLC/reviews
If you wonder why things like my photo happen (I will explain that), that is because of this simple thing. They don't pay them well enough to take any joy in their jobs. All the people you interact with, make little money and just don't care because the work environment is miserable. Every time I have sent in a custom quote request, I am responded to by someone who just doesn't care and usually it takes them several hours to reply to answer simple questions, never mind a custom quote. The work is miserable for everyone except of course their management which as one indeed review said "When you have employees who have been working for years at one place and they make the same as a new hire that shows you who they are. The owners will say they care about loyalty while they pull up in a g wagon, tesla, BMW everyother day, while paying loyal employees squat. Extremely unstrcutured management/HR including poor guidance, neglegence, and unrealistic expectations."
Sure, the spelling and grammar could be better but its the experience that concerns me. I feel like this treatment of employees is why, I am 100% sure the one responsible for evaluating my laptop told their supervisor it was in perfect condition as I stated and I am also sure the same supervisor told them to lie to me and tell me its not working.
If your cold response is, that is the way things are with all of these trade in companies or any business, then humanity needs a global reality check before there is widespread unrest and worse. The logic of just sell it yourself is flawed because guess what, you lose a lot of money even when you sell it yourself so that conversation is done. The e-waste problem is a problem because of companies like this that, when they make you feel like your expensive device is old garbage with little to no value, what do you do? That's right. Throw it out and make e-waste. They cannot run from this at all by trying to say "it's not our responsibility, ask the government". They are offering a service they cannot live up to and they got my review removed from trustpilot because of "not enough information so not a legitimate experience", you are doing the same, just because you say you will not share my receipt with ItsWorthMore, doesn't mean I trust you to keep your promise.
Let me just use their own words what they "promise", see the third picture here from when you go to sell an item. They cannot live up to that and they do not, I believe the technical term is lying, but you go ahead and take your chances and gamble that they pay you what they promise, because they do, for some people, and clearly not all, because apparently keeping promises are too difficult and yes you are talking about a lot of money to pay out, but hey, they promise to do it, right?
Finally I get to talk about my laptop. Just look at the second picture. There's damage to the LCD screen on the left because of how they shipped it back to after I refused their "offer" of $0 and recycling for my 17.3" Dell laptop. Which they will say was a mistake that they shipped it back in that inadequate box with one piece of cardboard packing material protecting only one side of the laptop. It is a well made laptop and so did not break into pieces but suffered LCD damage due to their "mistake" of inadequate shipping.
The last thing I will say is this. They expect you to spend your time, effort and money packaging things well so they make it there, and believe me, the box I sent the laptop in is not here because they either still have it, used it for another shipment or threw it out, but this is how they package things to send to you as I am sure they prioritize the boxes for sold items and everyone else gets treated like me, low effort, minimal packaging of one piece of cardboard, ending in a damaged laptop with a clear plastic sleeve that did nothing to help protect the laptop from the rough shipping company.
