I realize there have been a lot of negative reviews. I had 180 degree different experience the other reviews on this site. My matchmaker Amy J has been fantastic. The one thing you have to do a client is communicate what you in a match and work hand and hand with your matchmaker for success. I would seriously consider giving IJL a chance.

Worked with IJL a couple of times and even though I have not met my forever happily ever after, I have met a lot of great people. IJL representative Perla has always been professional and friendly. She has provided me with some great matches and always takes my feedback into consideration. The only reason I give four stars is because there is always room for improvement, although Perla does a wonderful job.

I have been dealing with It's Just Lunch since June 2020, signing up with a 12 date or 12 month (which ever comes last) deal. Well it has been 3 1/2 years and I still haven't got the 12 dates. There are plenty of singles out there yet this company can't seem to find just 12 between the ages of 58-68 in 3 years. When they do find a so called match, it's typically outside the age group in my profile. They use zero psychology in making matches.

Please do not give IJL your money. In three months I went through 3 matchmakers, no dates, phone calls and emails ignored and match suggestions outside my parameters. I am out $3,400 and the company showed no effort to help me after several conversations with management. Please don't waste your money. They prey on people wanting to find love.

When I was interested in signing up I was told my city was one of the largest dating pools (I live in Toronto Canada). I have few and far between matches we are talking 4 marches in 9 months. I'm a good looking 37 year old with a great personality and open minded about my matches. I just have restrictions around age (15 year range), that they want children, would not expect me to convert, and live within a reasonable distance (ie. Not a 1.5 hr commute away). Otherwise I am open minded about matches for me and yet they still fail to deliver. On top of that several times I have been "matched" only to find out after they are no longer available. For the $4000 I paid for this service it is a waste and they can't even match me with the very basics I listed above they once matched me with someone who didn't know if they wanted a family and they lived a 1.5 hr commute away. You're better to spend this money joining private clubs and going to curated L

This company is a scam. I signed on Jan 6,2022 and after two months I haven't date with anyone! The quality of guys seems so low. Theft showed me one profile and I didn't like the guy. I explained one more time, and second was better, but still not even close to what I expected. Since that haven't heard from anyone. Calls, emails. Finally talk to VP and she said there is no way to refund! But I don't understand what kind of scam is that? Just taking people money and don't even provide with a service? Definitely someone has to stop them. Just lost $4900! Be aware

I had a horrible experience when I had pictures sent of the people they wanted to fixing up with. Apparently, if I didn't want to meet them that was considered a date I met two people actually three one didn't show up and I was told that I had 14 dates and my membership expired.M

I had one girl literally badging me to meet somebody that I had to stably said I did not want to meet anybody they have not been married before at this point in my life and this girl argued with me and argued with me to meet him and I was adamant about not meeting someone that had not been married before at this point in my life
Seriously don't waste your money. I never got all the dates I was promised they couldn't even fix me up with peoples. They promised me 12 dates in a year and I think the first year they maybe I'm met two people and I never was able to meet anybody again and when I finally did meet somebody last year, the person never showed up.
So don't waste your money

I subscribed to membership with It's Just Lunch with very high hopes and expectations. I was excited about the format and opportunity to meet new people and go on dates. Immediately following the first date, the experience was nothing but horrendous. It's Just Lunch charged a very high membership fee and included a no refund policy in their agreement. They also included in their agreement that "All Dates will be within the criteria provided by Client at the time of joining with respect to age, religion and parental status." One of my criteria, as related to parental status, was that I did not want to date someone who wanted kids. On my very first date I was matched with someone who wanted kids. For a service as costly as It's Just Lunch ($2,800 for 6 dates), a single date has a very high value and I believe strongly that they wasted a lot of my time and money on this. Rather than immediately walking away from the program, I tried reaching out to their customer service to discuss and address this discrepancy. What ensued afterwards was a 30 day struggle to try to get a hold of anyone who address my complaint. I sent multiple emails and made multiple phone calls, all of which were unanswered. Following this terrible customer service, I determined that I had no faith in this business and its ability to deliver agreed upon services. I spent the next 30 going through the chain of command in request for a refund. I was denied at every point, even though I had clear and documented proof of their failure to deliver on agreed upon services and their terrible example of customer service and response. After being rejected by even their top executive, I resorted to my credit card company to reverse the charges. Not having a legal standing to do so, they sided with IJL, but that decision does not take away from IJL's unethical business practices. I am pursing action through the BBB, Department of Consumer Affairs and The Federal Trade Commission in an attempt to receive a refund that is clearly due. I would never recommend anyone to engage in business with It's Just Lunch. Their customer service and business practices are among the worst I have ever experienced. Hopefully, my pursuant actions to receive a refund will be successful.

I was promised 12 dates in 12 months for $2800. I had 5 dates after constantly prodding them, continously emailing them about my next date. Getting new dating specialists 6 different ones. The few dates that were setup where 1.5 hours away from me. Continously telling them I don't live in Seattle but in Tacoma... I just emailed them again no answer. There is no person to call to complain to either. FRUSTRATED BEYOND BELIEF!
There is no refund no matter how they fail to deliver what they promised... read the fine print.

I paid full price plus they suggested that I get a consultant with add the fee of course and I will get consultations at least three times. As soon as I paid. One-time consultant only. The sad part is they give the last match was an 80-year-old can who barely walk. It's not only I lost thousands of dollars to pay the fee I basically got insulted too. I will recommend to men and women to keep their money and go to regular dating sites with low fees and have more chances to meet regular guys/women. In Just Lunch just another matches site that is no different from other online dating except for the expensive fees they claimed with professional dating couches but instead, they have a bunch of people with no skills to just match you with anyone. It's a joke! Keep your money and don't waste your time!

I would totally stay away from It's Just Lunch. They reel you in with great promises and then offer nothing. What they don't exactly tell you is that any potential Match that they propose is considered a Date - so you pay $1,000 for 3 Dates and then they show you a "Match" who you don't like so you say NO and that counts as a Date - $333 down. I specifically said no fat guys - (I'm 5'3 120 - I don't want some big fat slob) the first guy they sent me was gross and fat so of course I said no - oh well, $333 gone. It's like a scam - all they have to do is send you people that you won't like, you say no, and they keep your money. It's been 3 weeks since I was sent this AMAZING match so of course I reached out to my "Dating Coach" and he totally blew me off with "I will be in touch with you soon regarding a new match. I have been searching and selecting and be call you as soon as I have a new potential match that meets your criteria" Which is so funny because when we spoke he had SO MANY amazing men he couldn't wait to set me up with - now all of a sudden he can't even find one LOL - this site is such a racket - save your money!

I did IJL before, like 10 years ago and it wa great. This time around has been horrible, they really have had a downfall. I have been through countless matchmakers, every one of them sucks. Their communication is horrible, if a matchmaker quits, it takes them several weeks to contact you with your next matchmaker. They had the worst time finding me matches even when I took away all the parameters. They truly suck and should be ashamed of themselves as a business.

High pressure sales call. IJL contacted me. Started at a price of 10,000.00 dropped to 2,000.00 for 3 mths. When I said I wasn't interested they said " we have a guy we know you are going to love." they told me they had a match that spoke spanish and played multiple instruments. The match did not speak Spanish or play multiple instruments. They knew from a previous use of IJL that would perk my interest. I will never use them again. Impossible to get refund when they lied about the client.

Be careful they really are more of a dating service. Not a matchmaker service.

Stay away. They only care about collecting your money. After that it's all smoke and mirrors. They promise 24 dates within 12 months. They will literally send you anything to fulfill their contractual obligation. They do not care what you want and /or like. It's all to justify not providing a refund. Stay away. Disgusting people.

Wish I would have done my homework better and saw these reviews here. Save your money. The person in sales painted a very nice picture was very responsive spent a lot of time with me but once they had my money it became a different story. I was explaining there'll be 24 matches. Later I found out it's match opportunities, so if I don't accept the match that they give me I just lost that match. The first guy was really not what I was looking for just in photo and description. The second guy was better the date was set up and he no-showed. No response from anybody at the company two days later I finally found out he had a flight change. That matchmaker was not very good at communicating in fact I didn't hear from her for 2 weeks after I was stood up. I got a new matchmaker who was better, the first date they gave me was okay but I went on it because I knew I would lose that match if I didn't and I had to trust the process. However that date also failed to show, said he was stuck in traffic. I asked for a refund and was told someone to get back in 48 hours, however it's been exactly one week and I finally spoke with someone who said a refund's not possible because they can still give me opportunities. They are escalating me to someone who might be able to help me but said they don't do refunds. Did I mention the service cost $5,000? So I'm currently disputing it with my credit card company. More pathetic than online dating ever was

I could not share a snapshot of my credit card transaction because of privacy so I attached a copy of the email from the person I spoke with today who said refunds are not possible and is going to escalate my request but they don't do refunds as long as they can still provide a service albeit a crappy one

Folks, please do yourself a favor stay away it's a waste of money. It's been almost a year, and a $3400 upfront payment and All I can show for it is a one lousy,horrendous date. Folks they will destroy your self-esteem and make you second-guess yourself, as soon as you pay,they'd stop replying to your email answering your phone calls. All you get is the answering machine.I understand by now I would never see my money back, but the least I can do is educate other fools like me who are thinking to sign up. It's my civic duty as a decent citizen please don't do it. Oh by the way, the contract states that you get 12 dates within three years, so you got someone in charge so called the matchmaker,picking dates for you ( 99% of the time are horrendous dates that you would never consider going out with)and when you declined them they count against your quota, regardless. Let me put it this way,you pay them $3400 upfront,and than they could pick any12 dates for you,and if you end up declining all of them, then you are paying $3400 and not going out on a single date.that's what they would never tell you on the initial interview

Where do I start? The whole thing is a scam. They're really nice, responsive and curious before you pay. As soon as you do, you go to the back of the line. Let me go into some details. I am 6,2 very fit,I don't like to toot my own horn, but for the sake of the argument, You can call me good looking,lol.i work hard and I don't have time to go out anymore, I do not like the idea of having an online profile. So I gave this guys a shot. And what a mistake.they basically make you feel crappy about yourself and undatable, between bad dates, not responding to your emails. Your calls,canceling dates last minutes. Hook, line and sinker It's a real understatement.I'm not even that demanding or asking for for a 10 or a trophy blonde, I was very realistic and compromising. All asked for,is a decent human being and physically compatible. And what do you know,every match was a complete disaster., I don't want to be insensitive,please use your imagination… they basically match you with anyone just to make their quota, I and up denying a lot of them which by the way counts against you.(you get 12 dates every time you deny a match for any reason it counts against you. You need to understand this before you sign up). That's the scam they don't tell you please don't do the same mistake. Stay away.contacted my credit company for a dispute,IJL Doesn't do refunds. You have to fight go through your credit company and request a dispute. They can't do this to people. Thank you good luck.

Save your money this organization is a joke… they make promises… take your money then toss random "dates" your way… there is no matchmaking going on here… and if you're unhappy too bad for u… any question or concern i had was simply ignored… and good luck getting anywhere with an 800# and a few e-mail addresses… fraudulent bordering on criminal business practices and yes they have been sued…
I'd rather pay my neighbor kid i bet he'd do a better job… and he's only 8

I only wish I could prevent others from spending their money here. PLEASE read the fine print and do NOT believe the lies they will tell you in order to get you to sign up. The only thing worse than the actual service is when you try to get customer service. You will finally get to a manager who will speak down to you, lecture you and basically say " thanks for signing up, we are sorry you are not happy with the service we provided". Save your money!

The 4 star review is for Tamia only, who attempted to rectify my terrible experience, for which this review is supposed to be for. I would rate the overall service as a 1, because there is no 0.
Please do not let them tell you "you can get out after 3 dates". I am not happy with the amount of effort I have to put in to get a date/rescheduled date. There appears to be a high no show rate. I definitely wish I never purchased these services.

I have been a member since November 2022. Not one date. I have asked for my money back, however, they continue to state they can service me. I have no confidence or trust in this company.
I would like a refund. I don't believe in them or there ability.
This has been a complete and total nightmare for me.
I just a partial refund so I can go on my way. I am tired of empty promises from this company.
Unhappy and dateless with no refund.

Total trash! Do not waste your time and money on this archaic, unethical system called It's Just Lunch. The promises they make up front are total BS and the clientele list they claim to have, they do not. They rotate the same people around, in an effort to convince you of what they claim. Most of the dates I went on were WAY below the standards I asked for. And, a couple of them shared they aren't even clients of IJL, so it sounds like they are paying men to go on dates. Again, don't waste your time.

This site is a straight up Joke. I paid 2500$ And only had 4 dates, they don't follow their own rules. They steal your Money. She had the nerve to call me and say I have to pay another 2500$. I said where is the rest of my dates when we agreed I have 12. They are liers. They know how to talk to you and once you pay they disappear. They also gave me dates that I didn't even agree to have. Joke JOKE JOKE JOKE. Don't do it. I will not pay one cent. For This website

I signed up for Its Just Lunch in April 2020. During the pandemic I was offered two 'virtual video dates'. One was out of state, the other couldn't figure out how to log on. Its now been almost a year since I signed up for 12 dates and they have scheduled my FIRST date for the end of February. During the past year, I've had 5+ matchmakers - no consistency - how could they match me if they've never met or talked to me except to read my initial profile. Months went by with no contact from anyone at all. During transition between matchmakers they appear to have 'lost' my file. Or never reassigned my account. I filed and requested a refund and they denied it.
If they have been able to find ONE potential match in a year, How long will it take them to find 12 dates? Will they scrape the bottom of the barrel? Or just match me with anyone that doesn't match my criteria? The service is terrible. Not worth the money. RUN!

Don't trust them. You have no guarantee they will be able to find anyone that matches your criteria, and although the contract is 12 dates or 12 months, you may never get your 12 days, for years. There's no refund option if they aren't able to match you, and they may just match you to 'anyone' to meet their contract. There are other better matchmaking services - check on BBB

The service is not a service at all. They have insufficient members to met their commitment and an open-ended contract that gives them eternity to provide the committed number of dates. In over two years I have had two actual dates, two no shows, and countless cancellations. I have spoken with management to no avail. Wish I had done my homework in advance as plenty of similar reviews exists as well as lawsuits.

It's a great concept and there is a need in the marketplace but IJL is not a viable option nor a reputable company.

Unfortunately, this is a bit of a scam. They promise to "match" with someone who shares your interests and values and is basically "compatible" with you. But they don't seem to have enough members to do any of that and end up picking people according to age groups. I have also been misled by the "matchmakers" who provided me with wrong information about the match's occupation and other details that I consider important. In a nutshell, it is like paying $4000 to tinder and letting it match you according to its algorithm without you even approving the match... I am almost sure the algorithm would do a better job than the IJL matchmakers. Avoid, no matter how frustrated you feel about the app dating experience... join a book club.

All the negatives listed in other adds on this site line up with my experience. Embarrassing to have been scammed like I was. I was promised 12 dates in 12 months for $2800. I had 3 dates after constantly prodding them. There is no refund no matter how they fail to deliver what they promised... read the fine print. Rudeness is the order of the day with a constantly rotating set of matchmakers. Given the turnover it must be hell to work for IJL. Just say NO!

Do not give these people your money. They are a fraudulent company. Lies- all lies. They took six months to find me a match. You can never get a hold of anyone. No one returns your phone calls or emails. They fail to keep appointments and will not follow up with you. They set me up with matches that did not show up and matches that were not within my criteria per my profile. I got no support from any of my matchmakers. Also I was bounced around from matchmaker to matchmaker without being given any notice of what was going on. Beware of Kayla, Mike, Lisa "Elizabeth" and Taylor. They refuse to keep appointments, I had a telephone appointment with Mike who refused to call me and when I called him he said he had people over fixing his air conditioning at 6am. I called Kayla once and she got off the phone very quickly with me and said she was having trouble with her computer and would call me right back which she never did. As soon as they get your money, you won't hear from them for months.
