Misleading Product Information and Unresolved Complaint
July 23, 2023

I recently purchased a SS 23 Saint Laurent leather jacket worth around Euro 2116 from Italist.com. However, when I received the jacket, it was a SS 2018 item. Despite providing all necessary evidence, including their invoice, model number on the jacket's tag, and a verification letter from the official Saint Laurent customer service, Italist.com refused to take responsibility and used the excuse that the Italist tag and boxes had been removed. Additionally, I discovered that my item had been removed from their website after I made a complaint, indicating that they recognized their mistake.

As a customer, I find it unacceptable that a store would sell a 2018 item as the latest season 2023 to deceive customers. This has been the worst online shopping experience I have ever had. I strongly advise anyone considering shopping with Italist.com to reconsider and think twice before making a purchase. While positive reviews for Italist.com can be found on different reviews platforms, readers should approach these reviews with caution and consider the possibility of fake or biased reviews.

Italist responded to me after I posted my review in social media about my terrible shopping experience, blaming their misleading advertising on an "unfortunate oversight" and they only offered me a refund option due to "system constraints", which feels like a cop-out for a paying customer who ordered an item advertised on their website. Italist even tried to blame me for removing the tag, rather than taking responsibility for their mistakes. Their approach prioritized their interests over finding a fair solution, which is why I plan to file a complaint with the FTC to protect my consumer rights since I insist on receiving the advertised SS 23 Saint Laurent leather jacket that I paid Euro 2116 for.

I recently received confirmation from Official Saint Laurent that the jacket I bought from Nugnes, an Italy-based store via Italist.com, is not an authorized retailer. In addition, the jacket I received was an off-season SS18 instead of the advertised SS23, raising the possibility that it was either a pre-owned item or sourced from a second-hand boutique, rather than being a brand new item. I have attempted to contact Italist management by email for further clarification, but they have not communicate with me since I declined their refund option.

As a customer who paid a substantial amount for this item, I believe it is within my right to raise these concerns with Italist.com. Italist.com should be accountable for providing accurate information about the products they sell and should be transparent about their policies regarding item authenticity verification. Therefore, I would appreciate it if they could provide me with documentation or a verification letter to confirm the authenticity of the item and the partnership between Nugnes and Saint Laurent.

Never Received My Shoes and Italist Continued to Deflect on a Responsible Resolution and Response.
January 4, 2022

On November 21,2021, I ordered a pair of shoes on the Italist website. When I did not receive my package by December 1,2021, I reached out to Italist stating that I did not receive my order. On December 2,2021 Italist replied and stated they were opening a ticket to help resolve the issue. I let them know that the proof of delivery photo that was provided by DHL showing a house that was not mine. Italist stated to give them 14 days to investigate and to get back to me.

On December 6,2021, Italist sent me an email stating that DHL delivered the package and attached the photo. I reminded them of my first email where I stated the package was not delivered to my home. I also let them know that I checked with all my neighbors and the package was not delivered on my street. I then stated that DHL has delivered to my home multiple times and the photos previously and where the package was delivered to this time are not the same.

When inspecting the delivery documents that DHL sent to Italist, I noticed that someone changed the delivery instructions and added an address in a city that I have never been to. They also released my signature which I did not authorize or receive the usual text message to confirm my delivery method. I immediately informed both DHL and Italist via email that someone changed the order.

On December 7,2021 I asked Italist to provide a full refund for the order that DHL delivered to the wrong address. Italist went silent after my email on December 7th. I reached out again on December 12,2021 and let them know that at that time I had now sent 10 emails about the order and had not received the shoes, a response or a refund and will now be disputing with my bank. I still never heard back from them. On December 13,2021 I reached out to them via Facebook and they said they would follow up with me via email, which never happened.

On December 19,2021 I reached out to Italist on Instagram and they replied they will reopen my ticket with customer care and would follow up with me on the following Monday. I provided them with my order number, how many emails I've sent, my personal email address and I never received a response.

On December 27,2021 I reached out requesting an update and an automated responded was provided that they started a ticket and will get back to me via email, which never happened.

On December 30,2021 I emailed to customer service and the support team asking for an update and did not receive a response.

On January 3,2022, I emailed Italist again and explained the situation in depth and asked for follow up on this matter. On January 4th, I received a response stating that "DHL is unable to open an investigation since more than 30 days have passed since the delivery date." I responded letting "Lorenzo" know that I was not happy with the outcome that he provided being that I submitted a ticket regarding my order 6 days after I placed my order.

At this point I want a replacement order or a full refund!

1/7: Response to Claudia via private message: "Ma'am no one hacked my phone. No one. Your company is scamming folks by not following up with your shipping company to dispute deft. Either someone at DHL or someone at Italist changing addresses for orders to be rerouted. I contacted you within days of not receiving the shipment and you DID NOTHING."

Tip for consumers:

Beware of online stores. They are thriving off of not being able to get in contact with and bel held accountable for their lack of actions.

Products used:

I purchased shoes that Italist refuse to investigate internally and DHL for changing my address and then not address the concern after I reached out to them immediately.
