iPostal1 has a rating of 4.58 stars from 2,316 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally satisfied with their purchases. Reviewers satisfied with iPostal1 most frequently mention customer service, small business, and virtual mailbox. iPostal1 ranks 3rd among Software Other sites.
I have now used iPostal1 for 3 locations for my business. I had previously used them when we were travelling full-time. The service is always spectacular at each location and the forwarding shipping is fast. It is also very easy to instantly shred or discard junk mail. When I call a location and talk to an agent there, they are always polite, responsive, flexible and know the details of how the virtual mailbox works. I highly recommend for travelers, businesses and personal use.
I'm getting the services I signed up for and expected, so I'm pretty happy. Packages are being handled and scanned promptly and legibly, I get good feedback on my Inbox page (and maybe more emails than I need, considering), and forwarded mail and packages all arrive in great condition. Trying my first consolidation mailing today - I expect I will see something well-packed. I haven't gone there yet with bundles or with any kind of shredding services but I confidently expect to do so and to do well with them.
1. Was told at start that the address wouldn't be thought of as a PO Box # but many places do like some of my credit card companies (etc) so they won't use the address.
2. The staff at the location that collects mail didn't fully explain everything to me at start so a bumpy start.
3. To view the mail you've received online so you can tell them what to do with it, you have to turn your head sideways as the images show sideways and not straight up- challenging
Easy once the verification process was complete. Wish there was an even lower cost option for low volume usage. I need it for a vanity address and to legitimize my business and have no real mail coming in and paying $39.99 I think it should be more like $9.99 for my purposes. Can you all look into that? Otherwise, other than pricing, all good so far.
Hi Susan,
Thanks for your review. There are absolutely other options that fit your criteria.
It sounds like you would be interested in the Green Plan 30, which is $9.99 per month.
One of our Customer Service representatives will reach out to you to assist you with the switch.
Thank you for being our valued customer.
Sincerely,
IPostal1

I started the service at the end of 2020. I have only receives 1 mailing to the ipostal1 address. My reluctance to use the address is due to the charge of $2 each time I pick up my mail. I don't understand why there is a cost to retrieve your mail. This could be very costly for daily pickup. Other than that, I have no other complaints but will use the service sparingly and have mail directed to another address.
Hi Garlon,
Thank you for your review. We do charge for pickup due to the time and labor involved in retrieving your mail and processing the task in our system so you will have a complete history of your mail items.
You might consider picking up your mail less frequently, as your pickup fee for letters is the same no matter how many letters you pick up at one time.
If you have further questions or concerns, please contact our Customer Service team at service@iPostal1.com.
Sincerely.

I am young and pretty tech-savvy, and so I was surprised that for an almost entirely online service, it was not very intuitive to try to navigate the site and the options are first. I had to get help a few times, and so it's not exactly a site I look forward to navigating at any point. However, after the frustration of figuring it out at first, it now works adequately, and as long as it keeps running okay, I won't bother switching. So, it's okay, but not fantastic.
Hi Melanie,
Thank you for your valuable feedback. Our platform has worked great for many thousands of customers over the last few years. However, we agree that it is time for a facelift. Our tech team is working on a major upgrade to the online mailbox user interface, which should roll out in the coming months.
In the meantime, thank you for your patience and for choosing iPostal1. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us at service@iPostal1.com.
Sincerely,
IPostal1
I wish the prices for tasks would have been explained better. I didn't know I would have to pay $1 per letter pick up. I haven't shredded yet but I'm sure I'll get charged for that too. It makes me weary of having a package shipped to my business address.
Also it would be more convenient to have a locker with key because the last time I picked up I had to wait 5-10 minutes at the counter behind a guy who was checking shipping prices and not being decisive.
It was the cheapest option and set up was convenient; the usps form with 24/7 online notary was extremely helpful in finishing the process.
Hi Griego,
Thanks for your review.
Pricing for all ‘Optional Services’ is posted on the Pricing pages on our website.
Our goal is total transparency. Our strategy is to charge the lowest monthly mailbox fee possible and then charge customers only for the optional services they choose, like shipping, scanning mail content or mail pickup. We believe this is the fairest way to price, so people who don’t need optional services do not subsidize the people that do.
When picking up packages, there is a pickup fee for each package. The pickup fee for letters is for any number of letters. Be sure to take advantage of our shred/content scan bundles to save money.
If you are not already, we advise that you use the 'Schedule a Pickup’ feature when you want to pick up mail, whether with the app or from your computer. By doing this in advance, the mail center can get your mail ready ahead of time. That helps the mail center to be more efficient and saves you time.
Sincerely,
IPostal1
The monthly fee is fine. You get into the real money when you're having mail shipped to you. All letters weigh in at 1 oz so I end up waiting to just have all my mail shipped before the discard date. Also, my mailbox had someone else's name on it-I don't know how since only my name is on the paperwork, and I keep getting their mail. I just keep returning it. I don't understand how they can keep sending mail to an address that isn't theirs.
Hi Diana,
Thanks for your review. We are sorry to hear about the issues you described.
Please keep in mind that you can use the consolidation feature to have your mail shipped to you, which can help you save money.
One of our Customer Service representatives will contact you regarding the incorrect mailbox name so they can fully understand and resolve the situation.
Thank you for being our valued customer.
Sincerely,
IPostal1
Communication about when mail has been received could be better. I do a lot of Amazon shopping and USPS was bringing my stuff somewhere else so I lost trust in the mail delivery. Staples did a great job following up but it took several weeks to sort out.
Tip for consumers:
It would have been helpful to know the order of structure; who was responsible for safe delivery. It would’ve also been helpful to be able to talk to a person at iPostal1
It's Unfortunate that I had to go through so many channels before I could reach somebody that could help with my account issue. The issue was simple. I was receiving all previous owners mail in my mailbox when I shouldn't have. I've been paid to have mail forwarded but I was under the impression was mine but found out later it was someone else's. Happily Though, customer service did in the end come to my aid and sort of the situation out. For that, I am grateful.
Hi Sterling,
Thanks for your review. Glad we were able to take corrective measures and rectify the problem.
Sorry for the problems getting through to our Customer Service team. We have a great group of representatives working very hard from our New York office, but demand for our services has spiked and the call volume is higher than we anticipated. We are adding more Customer Service representatives as fast as we can.
Sincerely,
IPostal1
Their service is going smoothly and ok so far. I am impressed with the system they have in place, kudos to them.
The affordability, convenience of the business address location.
IPostal is great in so many ways. You receive emails when you have new mail. You can see images of the mail in the app. You can even schedule a pick up for the mail you want. You can trash it within the app, if it's junk mail or shred it (for a fee) if it contains sensitive information. My only complaint is the fee when you pick up mail. It's only $1, but after paying the monthly fee, I think it should be no cost at all.
Easy & cheaper than competitors
Hi J O,
Thanks for your review. We are glad to hear that you are happy overall with our digital mailbox service.
At iPostal1, we offer the low monthly price of $9.99 at most locations and charge for other services on a pay-as-you-go basis, since many people do not use other services like pickup. Since it does take time and labor to process a pickup task, there is a nominal charge. All fees for the Optional Services provided are listed on the Pricing page on our website and details on pickup fees are available by each address listing.
Sincerely,
IPostal1
This was my original post:
"I received a piece of mail at Ipostal1. I asked to have it sent to me. A week later I saw that it had been returned to Ipostal1. (I recognized the type of envelope they use.) I called the store to request it be resent to me, but the employee couldn't find it in my file. I waited to see if someone had already resent the mail, but it never arrived. I put in a complaint with Ipostal1 asking for help finding this mail. I was told it was "escalated" and that someone would look into it. I never heard another thing."
After posting this, I received an email explaining what had happened to the piece of mail and that it had been re-sent to me. I have received it. Thank you Staples for fulfilling your promise to me and thank you Sitejabber for expediting the process.
Tip for consumers:
I can't compare Ipostal1 to other mail forwarding sites because I have not had experience with others. I HAVE had a list of terrible experiences with Staples, so when I found out, after joining, that this was a Staples product I kicked myself. However, in spite of all of my experience of awful service, snarky employees and unfulfilled promises on the part of Staples, this store and particularly it's General Manager, Steve Loofe, have been friendly and helpful. I still have hope.

Hi Christopher,
Thanks for your review. We are sorry to hear you experienced this issue.
We see that you have been in contact with our Customer Service team, and your situation has been escalated.
After speaking with our Staples team, they reached out to your mail center and are working hard to fix this problem. In the meantime, thank you for your patience as we work to get this resolved.

IPostal1 is simple to use. The monthly cost is pretty good, but the shipping site I pick up from charges $1 per envelope and $2+ for boxes depending on the size. This is quickly adding up. BUT, I am using iPostal1 to keep my home address private since I am WFH, so I donʻt really have a choice. To be fair, I donʻt think iPostal1 can do anything about that because it seems to vary from location to location, but in Hawaii, both locations have the additional fee.
Hi Melanie,
Thanks for your review. We are glad to hear that the service has been simple and effective for you.
We appreciate your feedback, as we are always looking for ways to improve.
We will send this information along and have someone contact you to see if there is any way we can assist you.
Thank you for being our valued customer.
Sincerely,
IPostal1
My experience with iPostal1 has been mediocre. I get it that there are certain forms that need to be filled out but they overcomplicate it by "pre-filling out" the form as they call it. Turns out in my case the items on the PDF are wrong. And the way they constructed the PDF, I cannot edit it without blowing a chunk of the instructions. So it takes a few months to get this issue resolved. Meantime I ask for a credit for the months that this takes... i'm NOT asking for a refund... or partial refund... just give me the 3 months credit that I cannot use because you cannot service my mail. Well, after a few emails with customer service, the answer is still no. Really... this is no sweat off your back and would mean a lot to a new company like mine. But more importantly it just means you are willing to show your customers that you are willing to be flexible and it's not about the money ALL the time.
Hi Alex,
Thanks for your review. We apologize for the delay in reviewing and approving your forms.
We are always interested in how/where we can improve our communications and welcome your input. Please write to us at service@iPostal1.com.
Sincerely,
IPostal1
I was given two different number for fax and it was very confusing. So I asked ipostal1 expecting an immediate response instead the automate system responded with less clarification. And since then I have been using an alternative means.
Hi Pass,
Our customer service team looked into your situation and explained why there was some confusion in your case. Since you signed up for a Virtual Office plan with phone and fax, you get your own personal fax number, different from the fax number at the mail center.
With your personal fax number, your incoming faxes will go directly to your digital mailbox, not to the mail center. Sorry for the confusion. We will look into clarifying this point in our communications.
Sincerely,
IPostal1
I asked them for re-scanning a letter as it was not perfect, they asked me to contact to mail center directly. I had to fight with the mail center for re-scanning. Ipostal1 is just an intermediary and not sure what value they are adding.
Hi Malik,
Sorry about the problems you described. We work closely with our centers to ensure that our standards of service and quality are maintained, and will, of course, follow up with your mail center.
If a mail content scan was not done correctly, you are entitled to have it re-scanned without an argument. We are here to help in situations like that. A customer service representative will follow up with you. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Sincerely,
IPostal1
Some of the additional fees can get very pricey. Didnt give me the option to forward mail to my register address. I'll continue a few more months to see how it goes.
Haven't experienced using the account as of yet as I just started giving out my address for mail and packages to be forwarded to my virtual mailbox. Hopefully, in the near future I can give my honest opinion of usage... its a great idea didnt know it existed.
Immediately after signing up, we received a letter, which they notified us of but no one could locate it. I called and told they be sending it out the next day. I waited two weeks then proceeded to call. No one could find or track it but my account showed a mail out date. I called to girl follow up and explained my situation. I called several times to see if anyone had seen it or if had been returned by chance. No one could assist and so I decided to email support. They replied with apologies and gave me an additional month on my contract. I appreciate that but would have wish to receive my letter. I ended up contacting the sender to ask them send to my email so I can print. Five months later, still no letter.
Hi Joseph,
Thanks for your review.
Our mail receiving process is designed to be secure and reliable. We set high service standards and work closely with our mail centers to maintain them. Something happened here which is extremely uncommon, but it happened to you, so we feel badly about that.
Sincerely,
IPostal1
I think $35 to deposit a check is excessive. I think the other fees (scanning/shredding etc.) are reasonable and the service works well. I've yet to forward a package so I'm not clear on what those costs might be. Overall I'm happy with the exception noted above.
Hi Ulrike,
Thanks for your review.
Glad that you think our service works well and fees are reasonable.
With regard to check deposit by mail, we offer this as a convenience for customers who cannot pick up their checks or do not want to forward them to deposit themselves. There are a couple of steps to this, and we do require that our centers mail deposits with trackable postage, so the cost is generally around $15 to $20, although you can deposit up to 5 checks at once to the same account and save.
We see that your cost was a little above that due to priority shipping, but we do not see a charge of $35.
Perhaps there is a lower cost trackable shipping option available to you at your mail center. Please contact your mail center to discuss or reach out to the iPostal1 Customer Service team at service@iPostal1.com.
Sincerely,
IPostal1
I don't love that you have to pay to see the contents of your mail when you already pay every month just to have the service. From my understanding, though, this is typical with most virtual mailboxes. Otherwise, it's been serving my purposes, and is easy to use.
Its been ok, I appreciate everything you do. Your website is a bit difficult to navigate in my opinion with no real help until you are actually stuck and have to ask for it but otherwise everything else has been smooth
I am new to ipostal1 and did not know what to expect. Mail Notifications and system are almost good except for a few kinks-
-Photo of mail isn't always acceptable because the sender can be missing from scan.
- The shipping is a bit confusing. I ticked 3-5 days with tracking, shipping to England. I asked for help and Consolation +Shipping was the reply so that's what I did with tracking. But there's more to the process than that- First consolation and Second Shipping- which would have given more precise options. As I was advised, I used Consolidate AND Ship therefore I didn't get the proper info. The mail shipment from the U.S. to U. K was sent with tracking to the waters edge of U.S. by the slowest mail-
You would think that knowing the shipment was going out of the country, and 3-5 days with tracking would indicate FedEx, DHL or Global Priorty- it was sent on 17 October and I still have not received my mail yet and it's 16 November!
I reached out to support and finally got a clear explanation of how the system works- a little more info on the shipping/consolation should be added to the website.
Thank you
Hi Janice,
Thanks for your review. Sorry to hear you experienced these issues.
As for the unclear photo, we will follow up with your mail center to ensure that they are sending quality photos of your mail.
You are correct about the shipping; we have a couple of options: One, a one-step consolidate AND ship that we offer as a convenience to customers who prefer not to do this in two separate steps, and second, a two-step consolidate where your items will be re-packaged, weighed and measured, and then ship where we show you the full list of carriers and service level options along with the price.
We appreciate your feedback and are always looking for ways to be better and clearer. You will be happy to know that we are working on an update that will include this information detailed, to alleviate confusion.
One of our representatives will contact you to assist you with your shipment.
Thank you for being our valued customer, and as always, please feel free to reach out to our Customer Service team at service@ipostal1.com with any questions or concerns.
Sincerely,
IPostal1

iPostal1’s developmental roots go back over 20 years to when software engineer and CEO Jeff Milgram's first business, an educational software company, took off and became the largest shipper in the region.
Next, Jeff opened a shipping store and was able to take advantage of shipping discounts obtained from all the major carriers. He came to better understand the shipping industry, and in 2007, he revised his business approach to focus on renting Digital Mailboxes and forwarding packages to remote international clients. In 2013, with that space attracting the attention of new and much larger players, the company pivoted and repurposed its Digital Mailbox platform.
Jeff launched iPostal1 in 2015 and built the company on what has been an extraordinarily successful business model.
Hi Seva,
Thanks for your review.
All of our addresses are real street addresses, not PO Boxes, amd can be used for business purposes. We are surprised that your some of your credit card companies did not accept your address. We will look into this further and apologize for any inconvenience.
Your mail item images should be properly rotated and easy to read. We will follow up with your mail center and correct this.
Sincerely,
IPostal1
