“Great service - Highly recommend and great value”

Stuart B.
6/16/20

I have now used iPostal1 for 3 locations for my business. I had previously used them when we were travelling full-time. The service is always spectacular at each location and the forwarding shipping is fast. It is also very easy to instantly shred or discard junk mail. When I call a location and talk to an agent there, they are always polite, responsive, flexible and know the details of how the virtual mailbox works. I highly recommend for travelers, businesses and personal use.

“I'm getting the services I signed up for and expected,...”

Frank H.
4/5/24

I'm getting the services I signed up for and expected, so I'm pretty happy. Packages are being handled and scanned promptly and legibly, I get good feedback on my Inbox page (and maybe more emails than I need, considering), and forwarded mail and packages all arrive in great condition. Trying my first consolidation mailing today - I expect I will see something well-packed. I haven't gone there yet with bundles or with any kind of shredding services but I confidently expect to do so and to do well with them.

Non intuitive, buggy website. IT support not able to help.

Seems like the least expensive solution out there, but that's because the membership is low cost. Doing ANYTHING incurs further fees once you establish the service.

Hi Douglas,

Thanks for your review.

We upgraded our app a few months ago, and the website interface for managing your mail is next on our list. It works pretty well for thousands of customers, but it is due for an update.

Regarding pricing, we charge for optional services in order to keep our monthly fee as low as possible. If we included some services in the fee, we would have to raise the price. But not everyone needs or uses these services, so the people that don’t use them would end up subsidizing those that do.

We think our approach is the fairest way to go. Prices for all Optional Services are posted on the Pricing page of our website.

Sincerely,
IPostal1

Up until recently my experience with iPostal1 has been fine. For about the last three or four weeks it's been very erratic. I had 3 pieces of mail that just disappeared. I was trying to get them discarded but the site just kept locking up so I got out of it. The next day I signed in and they were completely gone. I also had three items I wanted scanned and it took a week to get that done. Previously, I would have the scans the next day. Not happy at all with this change in service.

Sorry just seems slow to get mail out. Would be better to have more than one pick up a day. Postal probably has no control over that

Hi Jeannie,

Thanks for your review.

Not sure exactly what you mean by slow to get the mail out. Your mail center stays up to date on task requests. Our goal is that any tasks received by 1:00 PM are processed that day or otherwise the next day. If your mail center has not been meeting that standard, please let our Customer Service team know at service@iPostal1.com.

We see you have received a lot of mail and are a heavy user of your digital mailbox. Thanks for being an iPostal1 customer and allowing us to provide your digital mailbox service.

Sincerely,
IPostal1

Tech Support is generally very helpful and responsive. But, I have to rely on them too much... the App is really bad. Simply allowing a photo to be rotated would be great. And then invoicing process is non existent -- charges just appear on the credit card. But Staples is where we pickup our mail -- they have some blame, too -- but mostly because this seems really new and requires staff their to be conscientious about how they do things (take the time to do it right, not easy). And then the staff have to use an App to let me pickup mail, but that App is terrible, too... I think everything would be so much better with some money spent on UI and App design.

The employees of staples (which is where my mailbox is) just don't care at all. They will leave you standing there even when they see you waiting, they will ignore you, half of them have no idea what iPostal even is. You'll tell them you're simply there to pick up your iPostal mail and they'll say they don't know how to do that, what is that?, Let me call my manager, I can't do that, etc. It's always an excuse, and it's just not something that staples cares about. IPostal is great, the Staples employees make it an absolutely awful experience every single time.

I have had numerous issues with both Customer Service as well as a Billing Issue. I feel like there is a limited interaction between Ipostal1 and the Virtual Office Location. I have been charged for a plan that I feel is NOT benefiting me at all. I also feel like the Supervisor Response was NOT honored as I was promised 2 FREE months of service which was NEVER verified. I need a Customer Support Supervisor to reach out to me.

Running smooth until I requested a scan and got someone else's mail scanned to me. It was cleared out then my correct mail was scanned. A bit scary to think my mail may have been viewed by someone on the other end as well. I'll prob just be forwarding my mail instead of the scan shred option moving forward. I'll give them another shot though mistakes happen.

I used ipostal as we get established. We have now grown and just moved into an office. We have been using Ipostal for a year now, the phone number has been used as a business line and they will not let you transfer it. They just lied and said it cant be done, we all now this isn't true, people transfer numbers all the time. Its a retaliation tool so you don't cancel. The regional verizon business rep, says it shows that it is a portable number.

Products used:
Virtual address and phone.

This service is ok. I have a physical address and get charged for receiving mail as a rental space fee.?

Thumbnail of user iptlr
Larry B. – iPostal1 Rep

Hi James,

Thanks for your review.

You do have a physical street address where you can receive mail. But you get a lot more: the ability to view and manage your mail 24/7 from anywhere with our app or on your computer. That’s what makes a digital mailbox with iPostal1 so much better than a PO Box at your local post office.

With just a click, you can forward mail and packages, request a content scan of mail received, discard/shred unwanted items, schedule a pickup if you live near your mail center. You can even deposit a check by mail.

Sincerely,
IPostal1

I was in tears trying to get this set up. No one ever called me to tell me what I was missing. I had to find a ipostal1 location in San Antonio for help. It cost me $87 to have a package forwarded. That was completely unexpected and I thought it would be part of the service. I am also now finding out there are NO scans covered in my package and I have to pay for that. When I put in my change of address at the post office it would not take it because the address did not exist. Somehow I THINK its working but no one ever told me where to forward the mail to. So. I am thinking I should have went with a different service because this is nickel and diming me to death.

The guy had to walk me through all of the items that needed to be turned in. He was helpful but it would have been better if they called me to set it up.

Reason I chose this business:

Because of the multiple locations. I thought mail could be forwarded to another one of your locations. Apparently not. I'm pissed about that too.

Service

Larry B. – iPostal1 Rep

Hi Pamela,

Thanks for your review. We are sorry about the issues you described.

The USPS requires the Form 1583 be completed, notarized, and filed with proper IDs. This is required in order for the mail center to accept mail on your behalf. If forms are submitted, they are reviewed and approved if in order. If you did file forms, they should have been approved so your mail could be received, or you should have been notified about what is missing or incorrect. Our records show that we did email you about your 1583 forms.

Forwarding pricing depends on the package, carrier and service level selected. We are the only digital mailbox service to show real-time shipping prices for each mail item, so you can pick the option that best meets your needs and budget.

While we scan the front of every envelope or package, if you would like to have a particular piece of mail opened and the content scanned, you can request this from your online interface or the app. To clarify, pricing for all ‘Optional Services’ is posted on the Pricing pages on our website. Our goal is total transparency. Our strategy is to charge the lowest monthly mailbox fee possible and then charge customers only for the optional services they choose, like forwarding, scanning mail content, or mail pickup. We believe this is the fairest way to price, so people who don’t need optional services do not subsidize those who do. Be sure to take advantage our discount content scan/shred bundles to save money.

Regarding mail received at your center, it all depends on the actions you take. If you file a Temporary Change of Address at your local post office, then all your first-class mail from all senders will be forwarded to your iPostal1 address. Otherwise, only the senders you inform, whether business or personal, will know to send mail to your iPostal1 address. We do recommend filing the Temporary Change of Address in person to ensure that the correct address is being entered.

We do have a Customer Service phone line that is available Monday-Friday 9am-8pm EST. They can be reached at 845-579-5770 and are always happy to help.

Sincerely,
IPostal1

I used another service prior to this one so I know what a good service looks like. The first 2 scans I received were cut off and upside down and the interface is not very user friendly to select scans or viewing. I cancelled after 2 months.

Hi Terri,

Thanks for your review.

Sorry about the quality of the scans you received. We work closely with our mail centers to maintain quality standards and will follow up with them to fix this problem.

We upgraded our app this year and are currently working on an upgrade to the online digital mailbox interface, so finding the scan request button will be easier. To view a PDF of scanned mail content, all you have to do is click on ‘View’ next to the mail item in your inbox.

I use iPostal1 because that's what my commercial mail receiving agency uses for mail scans... I don't like that it doesn't integrate with my CMRA's own website, so I have to log into iPostal1 to look at my mail, and then log into my CMRA's website to request the mail be forwarded.

The UI is fine, although the price list doesnt apply to me because I'm not using iPostal1 for my actual mail service. Y'all really should provide something customized and skinned for each unique CMRA using your service.

Also what's up with the name?

The customer service directly from ipostal is very good and so far they have solved all the problems, unfortunately it contrasts with the customer service of the site where my email address is located, the manager is not polite and has been careless with my mail two of the three times that I have received documentation, the times that he has made a mistake he has not solved anything and acts as if he does not care, that is why I have had to go to ipostal directly

I did not realize that I would be waiting in line at Staples anytime I wanted to pick up my mail. And, Staples then needs to find the right associate with the key to get me my mail. This is a much more inconvenient/long process than I expected.

Unfortunately my site charges a fee for mail pick up, so I usually have it sent. I am charged much more for the envelope of mail sent than matches the cost on the postal item when I receive. I already pay monthly for the service, why is mail forwarding receiving a charge above the actual cost of mailing?

Thumbnail of user iptlr
Larry B. – iPostal1 Rep

Hi Nicole,

Thank you for your review.

We show the pricing for all our services including mail pickup. Please refer to the pricing pages of our website and to the location details. IPostal1 tries to be as transparent as possible regarding our pricing and policies.

We charge for pickup due to the time and labor involved in retrieving your mail and processing the task in our system so you have a complete history of your mail items.

At most locations the monthly mailbox fee is only $9.99. You would pay twice as much for a PO Box, which does not even provide digital mailbox service. IPostal1 is a great value and a tremendous convenience.

Sincerely,
IPostal1

Larry B. – iPostal1 Rep

Hi Samuel,

Thank you for your review.

As part of your mail plan, the outside of every mail item is scanned so you can see the image in your digital mailbox as soon as it is received.

If you would like to have the content of all your mail scanned automatically, so you can view the PDF in your inbox, you can choose the ‘Auto Scan’ option. Login online to your mailbox, click on Account, then on Options. You will see the Auto Scan option. Of course, there will be a charge for each content scan. You can purchases a Scan-Shred bundle in advance to save up to up to 33%.

As far as system updates are concerned, we recently updated our app and the current project is to update the online digital mailbox interface. We agree with you that the online interface needs a facelift, however we are not sure why you are experiencing issues with the buttons. Please contact our Customer Service at service@ipostal1.com for further assistance.

Sincerely,
IPostal1

It seems to take a long time for issues to be resolved and questions to be answered completely and thoroughly. Additionally, the process is confusing. Because iPostal1 provides training, I thought that this would be the best 3rd party affiliate to partner with, and yet I'm consistently frustrated with the process. Plus, it seems like clients have the ability to start having mail sent before they even have their 1583 uploaded and complete; I haven't had that issue with other 3rd party affiliates.

The payment system is also vague. I receive checks and I don't have any idea where to apply them. I was told to "view the report" - but there are a lot of reports and I finally figured out which one - but again, not entirely intuitive by the description of the reports.

"Christmas" was an excuse by the brick & mortar store iPostal uses for my chosen address, as to why he couldn't enter my packages into the system. I had to call each time I knew a package was received to get him to enter it. Each package was entered 5 days AFTER he received it. I am hoping now that the holidays are over that things change.

Hello JF,

Thank you for your review. We apologize for the delay in entering your package into our system.

It is true that the holidays have slowed down mail center operations, but it is not acceptable to us that it should have taken five days. We work closely with our mail centers to set and maintain high standards for servicing customers. Our Customer Service team is following up with your mail center to ensure this does not happen again.

I was unpleasantly surprised to find we are charged to scan every letter we receive. I understood the base fee included the cost of scanning 10 letters a month. Also, once scanned, your system provides no way to download the scan which is a major deficiency.

Business History

iPostal1’s developmental roots go back over 20 years to when software engineer and CEO Jeff Milgram's first business, an educational software company, took off and became the largest shipper in the region.

Next, Jeff opened a shipping store and was able to take advantage of shipping discounts obtained from all the major carriers. He came to better understand the shipping industry, and in 2007, he revised his business approach to focus on renting Digital Mailboxes and forwarding packages to remote international clients. In 2013, with that space attracting the attention of new and much larger players, the company pivoted and repurposed its Digital Mailbox platform.

Jeff launched iPostal1 in 2015 and built the company on what has been an extraordinarily successful business model.
