I was once an active member of Mandy but I listened to some advice from others and signed on with a rival site for production work. I have not worked and only paid fees in a space where nobody knew me and i couldn't get help. Hence, I have returned to Mandy where I was active when I was actively working on films and television series in New York. Although I am based in Los Angeles these days, my past positive experiences with Mandy and associates using the site gives me hope for brighter days ahead. Of course the slow down in work was partially due to covid, but we are back up and running now and I aim to work.

This is generally the best site for finding info about both movies and TV shows, but with some inconsistencies. Although foreign films are there to be found, the plot and cast info can be less informative than for US-made films. Some older short films aren't there at all, but that might not worry too many people.

This is a great place to find a movie title from around the world complete with director and cast. You can read reviews from users and find showtimes for currently playing films in theaters near you. You may even write your own reviews and give ratings to your favorite movies and television programs.

It used to be much better when they had a forum where users could ask questions about any movie. If you had a burning question or were trying to track down a forgotten title, someone out there had an answer. It's sad that IMDb removed this feature because of abuse.

Used to hang around this service a lot in my childhood especially when it came to movies staff; now it kinda lost its vibe

I would give it 3.5 stars - but since they deleted the message boards its just not as fun.
I really enjoyed discussing movies on there with lucid people.
However, i think they had to take it down due to the number of asinine and/or crude remarks so often made on comment boards by senseless idiots.

What I most enjoy about IMDB is if you eveb just know part of the name of a movie, you'll probably be able to find it. If you like a particular actor, or director, or music artist, you can look them and see every movie or TV appearance they've done and then you can cross reference and find all sorts of movies you never knew existed!
I also enjoy looking up actors from the 30s thru 70's.

I also enjoy reading trivia and comments, amd movie trivia.

A place to search for movie reviews if you`re hesitating whether to watch or not. Can have some "paid" ratings, but is good in overall.

This site is a leader among the others for me. It always helps me to look for some great movies by means of their authentic film-ranking. The reviews are also very informative and sometimes enforce you to see the other side of the film, which you even haven't thought about.

I think this site was a lot better when the forums were there. Now, it's difficult to tell if a movie has any sort of cult following even if the score's a bit low (like with Drop Dead Fred) unless it's a movie that's notoriously bad (like Troll 2, The Room, or Sharknado). While there still are the reviews, it can be difficult to gauge how much of a following there is for a movie based entirely on IMDb reviews.

Beyond this though, the site is incredibly helpful. It's definitely been a good guide for me to find new movies I hadn't considered watching before in the past, and it continues to be this way for me to the present day. Generally though I think the best way to treat the user scores is as a general guide to whether or not people like the movie rather than as a factual reflection of the movie's quality, as it's quite easy for a movie to get onto the Top 250 within a couple of weeks of being released.

This site is leading when I`m starting to look for new tv series or movies of the past years to spend the evening with. I recommend the resource!

The sad thing is that such sites are getting worse lately in terms of discussing the movies and trusting the reviews. Still good to find some new shows to watch.

An outstanding resource to read reviews on every movie you are interested in! However lately there are many cases of fabricated reviews - but those seem to be moderated.

All the ratings and stars given to movies, tv shows and events are so precise. Can fetch all the details regarding the cast and the team.

Good website for actors timelines and movie information nice to see whats on in your area... but not all cenimas have correct showtimes or timings seems you need to check the website of the cenima before planing your day.

It's not perfect and most bios and several movies are missing a ton of info but it's main usage is to check who played what character, least that's what I use it for. So as long as the crew list is updated, I'm happy. Don't believe it has a very big staff, think it's mostly run like Wikipedia, so you get what you pay for.

Good information site re anything film. Some trolling in the discussion areas, but the staff respond to reports and will ban troublemakers.

I usually check the movie ratings first in IMDB before watching a film, so basically it influenced my expectations in rating a film.

I use this site all of the time. There is a wealth of information for most movies.

Useful site with basic information on most movies, such as actors, director, year of release and synopses, watch out for spoilers though.

IMDb is indispensable, there's no question about it, but it's not very complete. Adding or correcting information can be a real bother, so I've stopped trying. Nonetheless, I get the largest amount of traffic to my film blog from IMDb, so it's been a personal help to me. And, yes, it's kind of a mess.

Good site for looking to see whether films are any good or not. You need to get s "feel" for what the scores mean though; around 6 is generally a pretty poor film, 7+ generally alright... You can tell it's going to be a real stinker if the score is near 3 though!
