My brother-in-law booked through them, told us about their Umrah trip and sent me the itinerary and information. Without hesitation, I followed through and booked with ilink tours. Brother Ali did everything I didn't question the price. They insisted on cash payments for the hotels and services. Never gave a confirmation when payments were received unless you had to call them and email them multiple times.
Ilink tours were patient with my payments because my mother died during the time of me making payments. Here's where the one star comes in.
They rightfully wanted their money, but fail to communicate with hotels on your behalf or refund you the money that the hotels that they would give you.
We get to Mecca our flights have been changed two months prior by the airline. Brother Ali and his boss Waqar did not communicate to our hotel in Mecca that we were going to be coming in a whole day later. Regardless of the time, we still came in a whole day later. So when we got to the hotel if I didn't start speaking, Arabic, they weren't going give us our reservation because we came in past the point of them being able to give us our reservation.
The man at the reception desk asked me why our agency didn't communicate with them when our flights changed two months ago? I told him I don't know and he said let me see what I can do. After standing there for almost an hour and a half they were able to fix our booking.
When I emailed brother Ali asking how he was going to fix this, I got a passive aggressive phone call from Waqar blaming the hotel without taking any responsibility or acknowledgment for their lack of communication. Waqar didn't even offer an apology for the inconvenience.
When I told him, this is unacceptable and there's no reason for him to get spicy with me. He said I was the one getting spicy with him for the fact that he did nothing wrong. I handed the phone to my brother-in-law then they proceeded to speak to each other in Urdu and Waqar's demeanor changed. Offered apologies and a half explanation. Clearly Waqar had no problem communicating with my brother-in-law with respect.
By the time we were leaving Mecca, I got a that my father was in the ICU and had to leave. Waqar and Ali track my flight information but they didn't talk to me about my flight information changing they talk to my brother-in-law, as if he our keeper or something.
When we arrived in Medina, I told the hotel clerk we were leaving early. The man said at reception they would give me the refund for the night that I was leaving as long as my hotel was spoken to through the agency. Before my husband and I left the hotel, I reconfirmed this information with the manager of the hotel.
I've emailed three times to no avail or response from ilink tours. Save your money and go somewhere else that actually respect you till the end of your trip. Not just while they're getting paid and actually talk to you with respect no matter what languages you speak. Because there's a clear difference in how they treated me and my brother-in-law.
