I was required to verify with ID.me to continue getting unemployment, spent way too long on their website uploading multiple different photos of my ID and each time it says they couldn't read it. Got an email from them next day saying they'd fixed the issue, but I still had to re-do the whole form and re-upload the pictures. This morning I get a call from a Private Number *claiming* to be ID.me needing to verify details! Refused to give any information since there was no way of knowing who this person actually was, but it's very concerning that I get a call like that right after verifying through ID.me. Are they giving out my number? The only reason I'm rating 2 stars is that the site *did* verify and allow me to continue with my unemployment.
Horrible horrible horrible. They have one job. Verify identities. Yet they can't read ID cards, they can't verify phone numbers, customer service does nothing to resolve anything, and their live video option has a wait time of 3+ hours but keeps hanging up on you. Another example of private contractor lining their pockets with money at the expense of the vulnerable.

Same problems as everybody else. I've been trying to get my identity verified for 3 days for unemployment purposes. I leave my computer open for hours but my wait time never drops below 3 hours. Either this system is a fraud, or they need to hire 100x the number of "referees" they have right now. The government services we depend on should not be contracting with ID.me until they fix their issues!

Waited for a "referee call" for over 10 HOURS on my day off so I could get my unemployment back. Uploaded the following per their request: Passport, Driver's License, Birth Certificate, Social Security Card, Selfie, Health Insurance Card, Legal Name change court paperwork. There are literally NO OTHER FORMS OF ID that I could possible provide. Guess what? They denied my Driver's License and Birth Certificate for no reason. NO REASON! And when I asked why, the "referee" hung up on me. After waiting 10 hours on the phone, she HUNG UP on me. I'm calling my state representative tomorrow to file a complaint, or at least make them aware that this company is standing in the way of Pennsylvania residents obtaining their unemployment, and what action can be taken. I'm doubtful anything will be done, but I'm hoping something can happen. This company is making money off the backs of those affected by the pandemic, and its disgusting, unethical, and corporate greed at it's worst. I hope they rot.

I have been receiving unemployment as my job as a school bus driver has been shut down since April 2020. After the extensions have run their course I had to open a new claim. All this has come to a stop because of ID.me. You cannot file online without verifying with this company even though I have been receiving benefits for the past eight months. What a nightmare! Their system cannot read the photos or verify my phone number that Ive had for ten years. I waited three hours for the trusted referee only to get a message that my documents are being verified and then "boom." "Please resubmit another photo of your passport using link provided." I did it in under 20 seconds only to get a new wait time of over five hours. I tried to start over only to get rejected and "AGAIN" had to wait for a "Trusted Referee" with a wait time of 4hrs and 58mins. This wait time never cycled under four hours for the next three hours. I cannot get my benefits (like many of you) until ID.me verifies my identity. This is criminal and actually scary.

I have been trying to get though to a trusted referee for 3 weeks - the queue is not first come first serve, they kick you out or leave you waiting for HOURS. I have uploaded my documents dozens of times. This is a scam. The system is completely flawed, they should be flagged for fraud. Customer service is a waste of time. The entire ID.me system is train wreck. Figures the government uses this for identity verification.

I uploaded personal documents to comply with the Pandemic Unemployment Assistance Portal in order to file my weekly claim. The first day I sat for 5 hours waiting for an "ID.me Trusted Referee." The following day I waited in the (5 hour) queue twice. Every time I was directed to reload the documents. I'm furious! Now they have a copies of my personal information.

I have spent 8 hours on average a day to be reached by a ID.me referee! They have a copy of my social, drivers license, front and back, a bill that I had to scan and send for proof! They say they can't recognize you, to accept a contact call via FaceTime from a ID.me person so to actually verify you. After waiting for 8 to 9 hours on the phone, they send you a message saying there was a problem with your bill proof! The whole point of being contacted is to get verified. If I lose my unemployment because of their useless system, I will file a lawsuit!

I gave this company a really bad review a few days ago that i must retract. Once you are able to make contact with a person at the company everything goes very smooth. The people there a very nice and know what they are doing. The "trusted referee" operators or the system suck. Maybe they both are inept. But if you email

Was required to register@ id.me for my unemployment. The site said it was basically super easy. After 2 days and countless hours of getting nowhere, I ended up so frustrated I sent nasty emails and tried deleting everything I'd submitted. Of course, it takes them 1 full week to delete my account, so my unemployment's going to be at least 1 week late. This whole website and company sucks!

I am very disappointed with the customer service. I have been having issues for 2 weeks getting ahold of an agent to approve my information and in those two weeks, I have received one email back regardless of my daily efforts to receive updates and get the credentials I need to assist veterans with home loans! I asked since I have been waiting 2-3 hour increments, unsuccessfully, if I could schedule a facetime (the facetime with an agent is required by them) and that request has gone completely unacknowledged. I don't even believe my requests to support have actually been read! I think I am getting blanket statements that don't really match the requests I have made. I just want to get the credentials to do my job and I am at a loss.

Flawed algorithms which use ownership of a cell phone as the basis of rejecting my ID after I had uploaded my PA DL, US Passport and multiple selfies is ludicrous. That's right, my cell phone is one of several on my wife's account, my name is not on the account, therefore I don't exist. "Cogito, ergo sum", is an alien concept despite Descartes coining it in 1637. I would have had an easier time voting in the 2020 election had I been a dead illegal foreign national than getting these clowns to verify my ID. Couple this with the "Trusted Referee" video conference which I scheduled 5 times, in one instance being on hold for 7 hours with no conference or referee ever contacting me is beyond contemptable. If you don't have the capacity to produce the product you have been contracted to produce in a timely manner, tell your clients BEFORE they are sucked into your alternate universe, don't make lame excuses about "unusually high demand making wait times longer." In other words, don't pee on me and tell me it's raining. Under promise and overdeliver, not the other way around.
