“The whole process was perfection.”

Scott S.
2/12/24

Like the title says - perfect process. I spent a ton of time and made my choices. I did use some generic parts but they let me pick where to spend and where to save. I never felt pushed in to a part that I didb't want and their computer handled all of the problems with compatability. It took them a little bit of time to build the computer and they were upfront with that. They hit the mark with all of their guestimates. The PC arrived. I was a little irritated that I had to install the GPU myself (once again, they told me it would arrive that way) but they did give detailed instructions to do it. The card is fragile and shouldn't be jostled while in place. After the computer was set up, I benchnarked all of the components. All parts worked as they were supposed to. The OS was installed properly with almost no bloatware. Durability. I guess ok but I have only had the computer 8 months. 8 don't know if it will last a decade but it performs as good in month 8 as it did on day 1. Service. I just asked them about which parts would fit and be compatible (additional hard drive). They looked up the motherboard and my config and gave me accurate recommendations on a product that they don't sell. They already had my money, they didn't have to take the time to help, but they did. Price, they were cheaper than most other computer builders. Yes they were more expensive than building it myself, but I wouldn't have bought from them if I had that skillset. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone. Next time I upgrade my setup, I'll check with them first!

To be all honest I agree don't buy Ibuypower had a pc for 2 months from them. The power supply already died, the RGB in the CPU cooler died, The RGB in the Case fans died. The fans are so loud that I can't hear myself think even with the software for the motherboard downloaded. The GPU had trouble posting aswell. I honestly wish I can get my money back. The Customer service is the worst I've ever dealt with even worse then hp and dell.

This company wants to make everything as difficult as possible. This is the 2nd one I've had. First went out after 3 years. Current one I'm fighting with them on and these stupid RMA numbers, and least the 4th individual I talked to offered to make it the RMA for me. I don't deal with warranties hardly ever but this company is TERRIBLE. They crash early, and they don't stand behind their products, as I'm currently figuring out as my current computer I've had to jump through hoops. Ridiculous.

Tip for consumers:
After dealing with the customer service(they were nice, and did their jobs), this company’s policies are absurd, and ignorant! I know it’s a cheap computer that was bought for me as a gift to relax. But I do have social media influence. I will fix this either way but you have one of the most useless customer service policies of anything I have ever seen. Of course. I guess that’s easy to get away with when you can blame it on one of your manufacturers….

Computer stopped working 3 weeks after owning it, sent it back to be fixed. Returned to me with broken side glass panel and they kept my power cord. Month later i still dont have the power cord to use the system.
Everytime i chat with someone on the website they all claim to "push it" but thats been told to me 3 times obviously does nothing and they have no solution. Just look at my useless pc everyday. Will never spend a cent here again. Would return if i could.

Tip for consumers:

I purchased a PC the GPU of which broke down right after the 1 month return period. I tried to get my PC fixed the customer service people are just so bad. I called multiple times and different agents kept telling me different things. My order is also a "rush" one but it turns out my PC just got stuck with them for some random reasons after it had already been fixed for nearly 10 days.

Pray your computer doesn't break.

The initial experience was fine; the PC I purchased had great specs for a fair price. Shipping was prompt and everything was hunky dory for nearly one year.

One day, my computer wouldn't turn on. Tech support was mildly helpful, but the gist was, "You better be tech-savvy enough to fix it yourself; we'll ship you parts." Given the premium I paid for the computer, I was expecting something a little more white glove (ie: take it to a local repairer and bill us, or even better, send someone out).

Long story short, I was unable to fix it. They do offer shipping both ways if under full warranty, but the terms are a little scary (amounting to you, 'if it breaks further in any way while shipping, you are responsible'). I swallowed my misgivings and sent the PC in to be repaired.

I was excited when I received the e-mail that the computer made it to its destination. I was less excited when I received an odd e-mail that my computer was found to have insects inside of it, and due to their policy, they would have to ship it back to me unfixed.

Of course, when I asked for documentation or pictures of this insect infestation, they said something on the order of, "It must have been bad, so they didn't have time to take any pictures." Great.

A couple of weeks later, I received the PC, and indeed, there were a few bug carcasses inside (it left my home visibly clean). And of course, by then, the clock had run out on my full warranty.

I cleaned the computer, quarantined it for an extended period to be safe, and then cleaned it again. I contacted them again to inquire about shipping it back for repair. Turns out that since the computer was past the 1 year parts warranty, I would need to be pay for it to be shipped to/fro, on top of pay for any parts that were necessary. I was ok with the latter, less thrilled about the former, particularly given prior bad experiences.

So in sum, the computer was just fine - but you better hope it don't break!

Over the years I've spent more than 10k with this company (3 computers) my recent purchase was over 5000$ I received the computer with a faulty gpu (msi liquid suprime 4090) I started the rma process, shipped the faulty gpu for a replacement. I sent the highest priced msi gpu to them and they sent me back the lowest priced msi gpu with absolutely no communication. So essentially stealing 300$ off my build after making me pay to ship the broken gpu. The icing on the cake is the new gpu doesn't fit the case I have. I called them in search of a resolution and they promptly transfer me to a survey. I'll never use this company again and won't be referring anyone to "ibuypower" in the future.

Placed an order on the 5th that was supposed to be shipped out on 12/19, waited till the 22nd to reach out to find out the order has been delayed, reached out again to find out why, and was told parts are back-ordered, ok that's understandable what parts(mind you this is all responses that took days from them, they send me a listed 2 weeks after order is placed and approved showing damn near my entire PC is back ordered, ok fine whatever we'll wait since they said it'll ship out next week, next week no answer still not shipped started new email with another customer service rep to be told yea we have the parts now its waiting to be collected now 4 weeks since the order, come Jan 3rd after no responses to email talked to chat rep and ya well you can see what I was told there, bottom line $#*! company, $#*! service, false ship and build times, once they get their money they could give a flying $#*! about what happens after.

I am on part swap number 5 and this will be my 3rd SSD. They are selling refurbished parts as new and they are breaking after 3'ish months. I asked to have a brand swap as these are clearly not reliable parts. They said no. Buy elsewhere or build your own. They clearly dont care that they are scamming you. Paint it blue and call it new.

Tip for consumers:
Dont use IBP. if i've learned anything over the past 9 months is they dont care that they are screwing you.

The first day I got my PC, it was working perfectly fine. But after only 3 hours of using it the power totally shut down. I thought I accidentally unplugged the switch but no, the PSU was already dead. Im guessing they recycle older parts and reuse it. If thats what they do I totally understand. What frustrates me about this is when I tried to contact them with their RM, it takes them 3 weeks to ship it. At first it was 2-4 days, then it became 4-8 days, until they pushed it to 2 weeks. It litteraly took them 2 days to ship the PC but 3 weeks to just send me a brand new PSU?

Not sure I have ever written as bad a review as I'm about to... so I feel a little guilty. It's just not my style but this has been a nightmare.

The only thing that went right with my purchase was ordering and giving them my money. That went very smoothly. After that, they started by sending me an email asking me to confirm my shipping address, even though it was already right on the order. When I called to confirm, there was a 2 hour wait. Ironically, there was only a 5 minute wait if you were buying a new computer.

When my computer got here, it wouldn't connect to the monitor. I had a friend of mine try to help because there was, again, a wait of "at least 2 hours" (so I don't know if it's 2 hours or 5 hours).

That person tried everything and even dismantled the guts of the computer based on a trouble shooting video that IBuyPower has on YouTube. That didn't work.

I tried technical support again and again, it was "at least 2 hours" before I could talk with someone. You could get right through to a salesperson. Who told me that Covid really threw them for a loop. When I asked why wasn't sales backed up with Covid too, they didn't have an answer.

I'm going to return my computer and hopefully see my $4600 sometime in the coming months. I wasted a lot of time with this company. Before you buy from them, call their technical support to check wait times... which is what I should have done in the first place. You'll see that after the sale, you're on your own.

If you are unlucky like I was to have something damaged during shipping, you will probably find their tech support satisfactory (though you will be annoyed while you sit on hold for up to 2 hours). The tech support guy Chris was great and helped me diagnose the problem and determined the best course of action was to do an advanced parts replacement RMA, where you pay for the part, they ship it, when you get it, put your bad part in the box and ship it back and get your money refunded. A full week later and the part hasnt shipped. My computer is worthless without the GPU and now it has been a full month since I made the original purchase. Their customer service team neglects to advise you that it will take between 3-7 days to pick, pack, and ship the part. No matter how simple. It's a card, it is still probably in the box on the shelf one week later, and now the Labor Day weekend I can stare at a lifeless machine and wonder why I ever chose to go with this company.

Tip for consumers:
Avoid at all costs.

These people are very difficult to get a hold of. They often have me on hold for over 2 hours, and emails they just don't respond at all.

Not to mention, the computer they sent me was dead on arrival. They sent a replacement gpu, didn't fix it. They send a new hard drive(wrong size) still didn't fix it. Then I sent the whole thing back and they refuse to repair it and sent it back to me. I can't get my money back because it takes them weeks and weeks do get parts and ship things, and apparently I'm outside the 30 day return period even though I never got a working computer in the first place.

Tip for consumers:
If your pc is dead on arrival, DO NOT let them send you parts. Send the entire thing back and get your money back asap. If they take more than 30 days to fix your pc they won’t let you return it per their policy.

My son purchased a build your own computer with his hard earned money. Spent over $3000. 00 with shipping to Canada. The Cpu did not work at all so we had to return it. Emailed customer service asked for a new one... they TOLD me to spend another $ 830.00 plus shipping to get another one and they will send one out. Said i will ship the 3 day old one back and then you ship it out. WELL they said they received it brocken/damaged... I know that's why i sent it back... now they are saying its MORE damaged... REALLY! NEVER WORKED IN FIRST PLACE. They informed me i have to make a claim against the postage company. Mind you there is no damage to the outside packaging... they take your money but don't return yours. STAY AWAY

Have been trying to get into contact with someone the last few days to try and figure out why it's taking then so long to move my RMA process along to the next step has been diagnosed for about 15 days now… WHEN WILL IT BE FINISHED. Not to mention they don't even have the correct times for their phone hours listed on their website it says they're open at 9:30 well I called multiple times to hear the click on the other end knowing a bit just hung up on me. Countless emails only replied to by an automated bot. I'm convinced the people behind ibuypower are your stereotypical fat lazy computer bastards. Will never recommend to anyone and hope to never have to deal with this cancer of a company again.if I could go less than one star I would. Don't waste your time with this company unless you want to ship your computer off not knowing when you'll get it back

So I bought from ibuypower on black Friday, spent a lot of money, waited 3 weeks... and it came Broken so I called them spent 2 and a half hours on hold to talk to them for them to say yeah its broken and then told me it be 3 to 6 more weeks for them to fix if I send it back. So I got a company near me to fix it and found out they didn't put anything together right... and somehow they said it passed the "QA CHECK". DON'T BUY ANYTHING FROM THEM. Go to someone else.

I ordered a custom computer and was told it would be 5-7 days till it shipped after day 3 they said they had all the parts collected and ready to go and then on day 6 I get an email saying they don't have the case (WTF you said you had all the parts pulled) so I responded in less then an hour and talked to someone and found out that I could get a different color from the same maker and it wouldn't slow the process or cost extra then 3 hrs later I get an email from someone else who says yes it will take 5-7 days longer... skip to 2 weeks later I get my computer carefully unbox it and set it up well the video card is dead I call again go through the trouble shooting that I had done already and yep the video card is dead so they say if I buy a new card they will send it to me (BS you are NOT getting more money from me) so we set the system to run on the onboard video and they will send me the RMA free shipping paperwork and in 30 min I get an email that I need to send it at my expense back (F*ck) so I wait 4 days and send it back but the computer is showing other problems ie: the power light started flickering then died the computer doesn't boot all the time then I get an email from FedEx a day later that I need to get it to them for the RMA well f*ck I sent it back USPS for $25 already and now I have a less the new computer and I'm still in the middle of all this BS

Bought a system, it didn't work, had bad graphics card. Must have spend 20 hours on the phone (most of it on hold) getting them to assist. Finally got them to agree to send new graphics card - I had to buy it, install myself then return bad one - I received refund about 2 weeks after they had received the old one. I had to call them and ask them where my credit was, they told me I wouldn't be issued credit until they received part return. I tracked return - they had it already. I had to stay on hold a couple hours while they found my return and said they would issue credit.

Now system is 3 months old. Water cooling fan is making horrible grinding noise. I've been on hold for tech support for 2 hours, every couple minutes a message says "you wait is expected to be more than 2 hours". Every time you call its the same thing, if you hang up you start over. I'm also on their website chat - been waiting 1.5 hours for them to start chat.

System looks great - but it has had a to many issues and they provide NO SERVICE!

Tip for consumers:
dont buy a system from them - period.

I wanted to order a custom gaming PC as a Christmas gift. I was afraid that there would be complications or long shipping times so I wanted to order well in advance. I placed my order on Nov 18 and my order was set to ship for Dec 5. I thought that this was a long time in between but still plenty of time before Christmas. December 5th comes and goes and my order still hasn't shipped. I called them, waiting on hold for ages, and finally got someone who said that things were delayed but it should be within a week. A week comes and goes and still not shipped. I call again, wait on hold, and was assured that even though it has been delayed again, it will 100% be here by Christmas. I have been anxiously waiting for updated info and it finally shipped on Dec 21 and arrived today at 4pm, Dec 23... just BARELY in time. Today is Friday and they are closed for the weekend and the first part of next week. I was pleased and followed all the directions unboxing and setting up the computer but my monitor stayed black. I tried switching cables, switching monitors, everything and it still wouldn't display. I am panicking and I called the IBUYPOWER tech support number and the recording tells me its a 90 minute wait, they would already be closed by the time it was my turn if they weren't on pacific time! After I wait just under and hour and a half I get a grumpy tech support guy that DOES NOT like it when he is interrupted... After a lot of trial and error, removing the graphics card myself (as a total layperson), and me emailing him a few pictures it turns out that an attachment part of the case that the graphics card plugs into is broken and the card can communicate with the mother board. He says I can repack and ship the whole thing back which will take a long time or he can order a new one that will get shipped out by the end of next week and give me 2 day shipping and it be here within 2 weeks. He cant rush it, he can't overnight it, nothing. I am so annoyed at this point I ask for a supervisor (I swear I am not a karen).

The supervisor is the absolute worst. He was rude and clearly annoyed with me for being unsatisfied even though I was being polite. He actually says the part wont be able to be shipped for almost THREE WEEKS due to backup and some kind of audit they are doing after Jan 1st and he will give me THREE DAY shipping. That is a LONGER wait time and WORSE shipping than the previous person even told me! He tells me the other guy didn't know what he was talking about and implied I should be glad he was being upfront about it. I asked if he could give me a discount or anything to make this experience not so horrible and he said that 3 days shipping (after waiting 3 weeks in their facility) would already be a rush and it cost them a lot of money. He refused to offer any discounts or free items or anything. He just asked if I would like to return it for a refund.

After almost 3 hours on the phone, I am flabbergasted. I spend 3k and they act like they did me a favor to take my money. In the end this pc will take 2.5-3 months to arrive fully and I will be forced to install the parts myself (which I am not really comfortable doing) if I don't want to wait even longer! The person who was waiting anxiously for Christmas for this new PC... now they get nothing. I understand that things happen and I wouldn't be writing this review if the people at this company had been less rude, more apologetic, and tried to make this right.

Tip for consumers:
Stay away from IBUYPOWER.

After many years of buying standardized offerings, I finally went all-in and ordered a "dream machine" from iBuyPower. I had purchased standard configured PCs in the past, so I wasn't making a huge purchase from a company with no track record.
I ordered the computer the on December 1,2020. With COVID and the holidays, I had no expectation of receiving it anytime soon. However, It actually took until January 21,2021 before I got the first status update of "gathering components." So, almost two months radio silence. I actually pinged them to make sure the order had not dropped off the radar. I received my box approximately Feb 2. Again, no big deal.
Unboxing the beast was exciting. I was a bit perturbed that the MEK3 keyboard didnt work. It had to be send back and replaced. Considering they made me pay for the shipping, it probably wasnt worth the exchange.
Not long after getting things running, I was playing Call of Duty Warzone and the computer just shut off in the middle of playing. I rebooted it and it failed to boot 3 or 4 times before coming back to life. Scary. I couldnt believe Call of Duty bricked my computer. Fortunately, after a few attempts, the computer rebooted. So for the next few weeks I avoided the issue and didnt play call of duty. I honestly thought the issue was with the game. Normal daily usage of the computer was fine. Then a few weeks later I tried again with Warzone and the same result. Screen goes black and the computer shuts down. I spent the weekend trying to figure it out and eventually determined it must be the computer. Maybe tech support could help me figure it out.
Well good luck with anyone trying to get hold of tech support. If you can even get the phone system to pick up, I spent 2.5 hrs on hold. When I did get hold of someone, they suggested almost right away it was probably a motherboard issue and asked me if I would be comfortable replacing it myself. How could they have diagnosed it that fast? Let me guess - not the first time hearing about this issue.
So no, I am not comfortable with that. The support tech was perfectly nice by the way, so no ill will towards him. We were unable to come up with a course of action, so I was supposedly being escalated to a supervisor. After being put on hold again for a half hour I got another first level technician who told me they were not the supervisor. They would transfer me again. I was transferred to another number that just rang, and rang, and rang for a half hour before I gave up. Understand I was mostly on hold for a over 3 hrs, so I gave it a shot. I suspect that "supervisor" is code for an empty room with a phone that just rings until you give up.

I ordered one of their "game ready" units. After setting up an account and going through the whole billing process I received an email to call them and verify my shipping address. Although they had both my shipping address and phone number on file so they could have called me. No big deal except that when I called the line was busy for 2 days straight. I also tried sending emails and they were never answered either. In the time I had to wait sitting around I found a better deal on their site for 100 dollars more. So I sent an email asking to upgrade wich was never answered. When my spouse finally got through (I am on deployment with the military and could no longer spend my days trying to contact this company) they told her it was not possible and that my comp would be there next week. I then got an email saying they will let me know when they start to assemble my computer. I payed for a pre built ready to send computer. I still havnt talked to anyone myself.
