In my years as a state administrator, I have purchased more than 100 HP printers and have used them personally in my home business. The printers have always been solid and support satisfactory. However that is no longer the case. My previous printer would not maintain a connection to the wifi, but I was unable to convince technical support, so I just bought a new printer, another HP. It is a 9015e and works well, but if I refuse to buy HP printer cartridges from HP, they shut off my printer. This is horrible support and I refuse to be held hostage. I will be replacing this new printer as soon as my time expires with my current printer cartridges. I refuse to do business with a company who can shut off my printer whenever they want anytime I don't comply to their wishes. Goodbye HP. We had a lot of good years, but you have crossed the line.

Tip for consumers:
If you purchase an HP printer, you must purchase HP ink or they will shut off your printer. I do not use my printer enough to use the ink fast enough, so they shut me off even though I still have good ink levels. If you do not buy enough ink often enough, they shut you down.

They lied about the adaptive battery setting. I searched it up in the mini settings and main settings page and nothing showed up for it.

I bought a printer from Staples store and the printer does not work that well. It is an HP OfficeJett 5255. Pretty much every single time I try to print something the stupid machine gives me a problem. I had a long struggle with it not reading the wifi signal from my laptop and that problem was fixed by me purchasing a cord to connect it directly to the laptop and then once that problem was fixed, I started having problems with the ink cartridges and had to replace them even though they were not empty and this is after years of one printer problem after another. My advice to you, before you buy a printer, read the reviews online and research the product thoroughly before you purchase it and its expensive ink cartridges.

First off I had to signup for automatic ink replacements at their time frame (I have eight) and not used one yet. I also had issues getting it installed and setup. HP neglected to tell you in the instructions that the original ink cartridge is necessary for setup. Also HP has no online help or number to call and they never return calls.

This HP Spectre 360 laptop is the most glitchy and most expensive PC I have bought over 40+ years and over 1/2 dozen brands.
Constantly having to unintall and reinstall drivers, wait months for updates to catch up with each other in order to function properly, and simply out of sync with win updates.
It is a pretty laptop and it works for just about everything (except for fingerprint logins, touchscreen, and the heavily advertised B&O speakers that are barely audible and keep loosing their control app and RPC service) but that is about all.
Very dissappointed.

I'd placed an order for a new desktop, as my current one is getting rather old. I'd decided to also acquire a monitor and keyboard while I was at it, and everything was planned to ship 4-6 days after my order. The monitor and keyboard had managed to come in fine, but the Desktop had still yet to show up. No biggie, I'm used to things passing the deadlines, so I gave it another day or two. I still hear nothing from HP and decide to call them and check on the order. Turns out the package had gotten damaged during shipping and they had to take it back before processing out another one. Out of their control, stuff happens, I get it. But from here is where things turn bad. At first, I was told the order would be processed in a couple of days, and I would be able to receive it in a few more days. After those few days I call again and now they say their inspection process can take up to 8 days, and that tomorrow (the day I'm writing this review) would be the day that my package would ship out, and it would come in 1-2 business days. I called customer support today, seeing as I never got any confirmation of my desktop shipping, and waited over an hour on hold while trying to reach customer service. Upon reaching them, I was told that the department I needed to talk to had closed 15 minutes ago (again, I'd called over an hour ago at this point) and that there was nothing they could do, and that I'd have to call them again in the morning. NOW upon looking at my orders I finally have an arrival date... for mid-July. At this point it would have just been faster to cancel my order and order the same computer again, which would have only taken a week at most, so the fact that this whole process is taking almost a month seems bizarre to me. Their ability to get things to you seems to be decent when everything goes perfectly, but for the life of me I can't give them any higher than 2 stars after the pain I've had dealing with customer service and wait times.

I bought and HP Officejet Pro 6978 and had it less than 6 months and the printhead went bad. It was still under waranty. I called tech support and was told to send the printer back for a replacement. I sent it on the 2nd of December, they received it on the 5th of December. Called today to see where my replacement was, and have to call again tomorrow for an update. I was told that I should have received it on the10th. Still waiting. How do I get my printer?

Shortly after purchase the printer was not completely printing the bottom third of the page, leaving large white gaps. Contacted support who passed along to their 3rd party contractors. Five visits and one month later and the printer is in worse shape than when we started this process as they now can't get past error messages their work induced. One can expect that there is always a chance at a bad unit coming out of a warehouse, but trying to skirt doing the right thing by kicking the can down the road is inexcusable. It should have been replaced after the first two visits didn't resolve the issue and now I'm on hold still awaiting word if they are going to finally get me a printer I can use.

Update 1/15/20:3 days after "My manager will contact you tomorrow" with no contact from the 3rd party contractor, I called them. They said HP had elevated it to sending out "one of their own techs" to assess and was surprised I had not been contacted by HP to let me know. That was on the 13th. Still no contact from HP. Service ticket was opened on the 4th of Dec.

Update 1/29/20: A very kind and helpful HP tech finally made her way to our office on 1/17 and was taken aback by the condition they had left the printer in. She pushed to HP that I was in need of a replacement as this had gone on too long. She left me with her contact information should I needed her assistance in pushing this to completion. On 1/24 I was finally contacted by HP offering a replacement unit as a "one time" exception to their warranty. I accepted the offer on that day. As of today, I have not heard back whether a replacement has shipped or even if they are planning to ship it. My administrator, who has been affected the most by this, has reached his final point and is now having me pursue "other avenues" in regards to us having a functional printer.

In short, HP is a big name. Perhaps now too big. You always have to expect that something electronic can come you to either faulty out of the box, or goes bad shortly after you get it. Part of the game. But you should also expect a company that is in this game to be ready to deal with the issue quickly and competently and own their shortfall. The only option left is to try and make other potential purchasers aware of how they view their commitment to you.

I own three 17" laptops (for myself) and one 15.6" (for my husband). I am a computer pro with 15+ years of experience. I worked for one company that used different computers and I switched them over to HP because I have been using them for years. The one problem I did notice is that most of the time you couldn't make recovery disks from the equipment so all you had to do was call up HP and they would send you the media for free. About the last 5 or 6 years you had to pay for the disks and that was okay, the cost was about $12-$20.00.
Another good thing about the laptops is if you needed to change a hard drive, a wireless card or memory, there were little doors on the bottom that went to each of those items. But now you have to take the complete bottom cover off to repair these items. The plastic covers have gotten flimsy and easily broken. But the biggest challenge is talking to tech support. I was told I could have media created for my computer and all I would need to do was to download it. I was in and out of town working so I didn't download the software even after I was sent another link. The next time I called I was told I could pay $35 to download the media to a flash drive. When I didn't get a link I called back and was told it would cost $35.00 and have a $14.00 per month plan for up to 3 computers. They would stay on the phone and walk me through the process and make sure it worked. I said I didn't need that I just wanted the media. Then I was told it would cost me $60.00 to just get the media. I can go in the store and buy a retail item from $50-$100.
The coup de grace is the fact that 2 of the laptops I have, I can't get parts for them. When I called HP, they said they didn't sell them and the places they referred me to only repaired printers. One item is a keyboard that I've been trying to repair for11 months. They couldn't even give me the correct part numbers. I can promise you that if I had known that when I bought these items, I would not have gotten an HP. There's a saying "to be forewarned is to be forearmed." Don't buy HP products, you will regret it.

HP have fell off completely, I used to purchase the instant ink for several years. I noticed it was watered down but I decided to continue it for a wdial, a lone while.I begin to purchase ink now. I just realized today. That i'm unable to print and black because my color cartridge is empty. In the beginning you could print even though your colored cartridge was empty. With today's inflation. We don't need all that extra trying to force us to purchase ink we may not need. So I am going to get back on the instant ink program. But i'm only going to get on the one that you paid four dollars a month for and only pay ten cent per print and they still will send you ink Not satisfied at all, So when this printer break? And most HP printers malfunction in one year. I'm going to buy a cannon printer, Because they've always required all in Cartridge to be installed. If I must have ink and a printer I might as well go with the best.

I have two of these printers with the same issues. This printer will freeze when it is out of paper and will not recognize that it has paper when reloaded without a complete reboot, purge, and capacitor discharge. It's not worth buying.

HP8720 ALL IN ONE PRINTERS
Since I had great luck with the HP7410, I went with the HP8720 thinking that HP continued their quality and support. I was wrong. I was even told by the associate in the store that they're bad and people are complaining, but didn't take it seriously until I became the next victim. The printer started breaking down about 3 months after I purchased it. At first I thought it was a cartridge issue, so I replaced the cartridges. Than I read that HP had software/firmware that prevented anyone from using cartridges other than HP. After contacting HP and doing further testing, I came to the conclusion that the printheads themselves were prematurely going bad if you had low usage, like home use. After I reported the issues, I didn't get anywhere with HP that would help me with the issue, and now the HP8720 is just a big paperweight sitting next to my desk for about a year now. Being confined to our homes, it would be extremely beneficial not to have good printer. HP products, especially my printer is nowhere close to what they once were. BAD deal for the elderly and disabled, since you won't win the fight with billionaires... No new printheads, as they're too expensive for me to afford and replace on my own. Nothing else helped. You get Delays and the runaround until the Warranty expies and then you're tatally on your own.

I would like to file a Corporate- Presidential Complaint- ref- my experience with your HP PAVILION SLIMLINE 400-314-DESKTOP PC. I have dealt with every department -and after attempting to correct this matter-11 months later- I have dealt with ITT Tech - who basically tells me- that my operating system has to be taken out and placed back in. We have done numerous diagnostic tests- meanwhile- unbeknown to your ITT Staff I have had the PC examined by trained professionals who assure me that it is a hardware problem and not a software issue. It has been 11 months- 10 phone calls- 10 e-mails- total of 30 hours on the phone in the Maze of HP- and no one will assume ownership for this problem even while it is under warranty.
If you include the cost of the PC $300-plus add all the hours spent- times my hourly wage- Total=$900- if have invested $1200 in between cost for the device and time squandered and still no ownership by HP for the Lemon I have bought.
Case # *******672 complaint # **************.
When I spoke to your Technician I already knew the answers due to my Departments Computer Tech's assistance- yet the malarky that this technician dealt out- and I am only 1 customer out of thousands she has spoken too- only makes me aware that HP- is misguiding it's customers- and the warranty/product are awful.
For Goodness sake- I know I have a Lemon- why lie to me- and attempt to mislead me-all because I am a customer that apparently doesn't know what the problem is. Well folks I do know-and your Tech's have all stalled for 11 months- the replacement of this Lemon.
You folks now owe me $1200. 00- that is for the Lemon plus all the time I have wasted and been lied too- the time spent trying to repair this device-all to no avail.
HP maybe a great computer company-but in this case- you have sold me a Lemon-failed to accept it is a Lemon- taken no ownership for the problems- stalled- lied- and now 11 months later when I finally get someone to help me- I am being told a line of tales that don't even hold any water. It is not the operating system and has never been- it is the hardware. You folks owe me over $1,000.00 for all the time on this awful matter.
My Social Sites reviews- inclusive of documentation and names times phone #'s will show the world how bad this matter has been handled.
Respectfully

I recently bought a new Printer from HP. After having the ink cartridge's refilled an bringing them home and trying to get them to work in my printer, I then discovered that they will not work in the printer! I was outraged and called HP with the complaint. After several weeks of hearing nothing an HP REP called and offered my 2 printer cartridge's to shut me up. I said to the guy, YOU ARE GREEDY, and take it to a new height in the definition! Keep your cartridge's and I will just go to site jabber and post a SHAME ON YOU!
