Provided a list of handymen in my area with reviews, I chose one that was right for my needs and they did excellent work
Mountain Home Remdeling in Laural MD did my roof. At first glance it looked great,so I gave a high rating. Within a short time I had stains on my ceilings, a sheet rock peeling and falling out of place. They sent someone todo a worthless repair job that lasted only a short while. I have a great deal of damage I have had to pay for broken rafters and repairs to vents system. Repair is needing to be redone where handyman supposedly fixed. Yet, Angi refused to downgrade my review.
Erin and Abe at Home Advisor were both most helpful, particularly Erin. Erin arranged for two contractor appointments. I used one of those contractors.
I did not like getting two immediate email request for payment from Home Advisor when I was going to pay the contractor directly. I paid the contractor the full amount, on the day of the work, and he deposited that check the same day. He could not have gotten his money faster.
Patios and More Landscaping Services LLC. We just had a water-front Landscaping project completed by Mike and his team. It turned out beautifully. It required frequent and clear communication between ourselves and Mike who was readily available to help us along the process. The team was understanding of our attention to detail and carried out the plan as promised. It was a very good experience! We appreciate all the hard work!
Confusing, I received a call from someone saying they were from Angie's then he hung up after I told him what I needed. Then I was charged twice for service that was only provided by Carolina best cleaners. They charge me for service from some lady name Natalie Who had never been to my house. Right now I'm waiting on my Refund.
I requested a quote and within 30 min I had been contacted by one of their contractors. This contractor was hired and he did an excellent job. I was contacted within a few hours by 2 additional contractors also. However, when I went to leave a review for my contractor, I had to sign up for home advisor emails. Then, my review never was added to their reviews. I have tried 4 times and haven't seen it yet. Very frustrating.
Very good once a recommendation was made for a supplier. Took longer that expected to get options for suppliers. I actually found my supplier on Google only to find he was included in the options for suppliers provided by HomeAdvisor later.
Service call was above expectations and the end result was very good. Now I have a go too for Security / Fire alarm needs in the future.
When the pro I normally use was not available, I used Home Advisor to find another. It was an emergency project to satisfy the requirements of my HOA, which gave me only 8 business days to get it done. (They claim it's 15 days, but they count the time in the mail for their notification letter and they count weekends.) One drawback: After I hired someone, I kept getting calls, including one from a man who was quite irate--he said that there was supposed to be a notification when the job was no longer available.
Home Advisor does not always check back to see if you received a call or got a response from someone they sent your way.
I found an awesome company through Angi.
Angi as a company is overbearing. Follow-up was pushing and invasive. I wasn't even given time to get estimates and give thought to my decisions before the phone calls and emails started. Phone calls were repetitive, representatives didn't even know I had already been contacted for the same information by other reps.
I was a member of "Angi's List" previously, and will use Angi again. I would appreciate a less "invasive" customer service approach.
We have used HomeAdvisor for several major and minor home repairs and renovations. In each instance, we get prompt responses from most of the contractors we selected. During the process, a few contractors have fallen by the wayside due to poor follow up, slow response or not being interested in the project. The others gave us fair and reasonable quotes and we were able to select the one that fitted our needs the best. I can honestly say we have been very pleased with each contractor and their work and this has spanned almost five years
Home Advisor was very helpful in finding contractors in the area. But, you still need to do your own research. I had a contractor come out and give a quote significantly less than everyone else, but when I started to ask about insurance, they ghosted me. So, you can't assume that contractor's license and insurance status has been pre-verified.
I called to find out if Home Advisor/ Angi actually verifies insurance/ licenses when I was having issues getting insurance info from my first contractor. I was told that insurance is self reported and not verified. The contractor also verbally told me that they are insured, but when I asked for proof of insurance, they were not able to provide it.
I was hoping to be able to find contractors with a verified history of good reviews.
I was having trouble getting quotes for my project after contacting home advisor. Home Advisor showed interest and called the check on my projects progress. After speaking to home advisor I received responses and selected Adrian Baci. He worked did good work and got it done a really good price compared to the other pros that quoted the work. I needed this done to quickly to get a flooring project started and was able to get that accomplished.
The Angie site referred several companies to me that could not fix my issue. They just wanted to sell me more gutter guards. But, a few other individuals were referred that had the skill set and desire to fix what I have. I certainly had more than one vendor to choose from. However, I felt like the price for the repair really exceeded the amount of time needed to remedy my problem. Since the job was costed over the phone, there was no way for that person to kNow what was needed. In any case, $360/hr is pretty steep.
I had people call me. Price range from 6500. To 15,000. Not for any other work like duct work etc. Just replace system. Small house! But got to screen a few which helped the cost shock.
Strong Roots tree service was great. The landscaper suggested was a disappointment! Dam... Brothers came out, gave an estimate & said they would be out 1st week of Aug. I asked for a written contract showing the work to be done, as I will not be here! That was the last I have heard from them. Their phone has been busy 24/7 for2 weeks! No word from them. If they come out & do any work... I will not pay them. I have NO contract with this co.!
Quick Response. Good experience. Unfortunately, your survey to describe my experience in this box is too picky!
I am very pleased with Victor and Lazo, both are absolute gentlemen and excellent plumbers. They are very deliberate, clean up after themselves, and highly skilled. Cass Plumbing has made a very positive impression with me and are very dependable. Their prices are competitive and they give perks for repeat business. That said, they are my first choice for all my plumbing needs...
Skillcrafters, Inc. updated two bathroom in my forty year old home. I received many hours of personal consultation and recommendations on design using quality materials with access to multiple suppliers and vendors. When materials arrived, the work was completed quickly and efficiently. Mike Mueller, company president and project supervisorcame every day to inspect work in progress. All involved were dedicated to meeting my standards and doing quality work with minimal disruption to my household.
Only needed list of local Companies (names) for gutter repair project. Contacted next day by HomeAdvisor agent (unexpectedly) with name of Company that expressed interest in my project. Agreed to permit job estimate from same. After deliberating several options over a weeks time, offered job to same Company. Results were excellent.
If you need a professional handyman, Jerry is the guy to call. He is punctual, reasonable, and his work is top quality. I hired to re-do the doors of a shed that I had paid a "cash only" disabled person (so he claimed) to do the job which was totally botched. Jerry did an excellent job! Strongly recommend him.
My move was smooth and my property made it safely, even in winter conditions, from Florida to Central Pennsylvania.
These guys are a real value... and with eight trucks running their east coast routes I hope you catch on and make them your mover as well.
Good experience. Job well done. Handyman was on time friendly and courteous. Came back twice always friendly
I got two estimates and only one was professional, showed up when he said, was a couple $100 higher than the other but he proved his word by coming when he said and doing the work as fast as possible and guaranteed his work! The other company was over an hour late, even though he was a little cheaper, he proved unreliable by not even calling to say he would be later than he said!

I booked a painter for two rooms. The "painter" arrived on time armed with one used tray, one brush, one roller. Though he was quite polite and congenital, his work was sloppy, with poorly covered walls, dripping on all trim, outlets and floor. The we were informed he had to leave to "go to work" but a return on the weekend to finish the job correctly.
I contact HA to file a complaint with the caveat that if he returns to do the job right all is good.
He did not return and Home Advisor did a FULL REFUND. Sad painter but great customer service!
Very good. Prompt, color-matched, and clean up. I was well pleased with this company and the installer.
I have been a user for many years but find the "new and improved menu driven choices" do not always fit my needs. I would like more opportunity to fine tune my request and hone in on a best provider. Service Pros that we have gotten have all been good at what they do, but I find the ongoing calls and emails from Home Advisor are annoying in the midst of what is already a problem. I would prefer to have a contact that I can call if I need more help and a way to turn off the follow ups when I do not.
