Hampton INN Gordon Hwy Augusta GA BED BUGS & Poor Customer SVC
February 14, 2024

I booked over 10 rooms at this hotel thinking I would get Hilton/Hampton Inn Quality for my guests for an event I had within 4 miles of this place. This place was a dump and the night shift ratchett check in person NATASHA was so unprofessional along with the general manager Tonya of whom I have been waiting a call back from now for over 4 days. No call from them and No call back from Hilton case #******* and case #*******. Not only was I upset because when one of my guests, (a corporate customer of mine) checked in, the Checkin lady Natasha told her the reservations were canceled because of Credit Card Fraud. Which was a mistake on the Hotel sales manager's (Hew Hartman) fault in which I have in writing where he was supposed to transfer the 4 reservations on hold for my guests to 10 reservations at a reserved price (5 singles and 5 doubles) which my group surpassed the 10 minimum rooms. I called Natasha after my guest called me 1:00 AM on Feb 10 to ask her what does she mean by I committed credit card fraud and she hung up on me after rudely telling me she is not going to speak with me. I demanded an answer during the business hours but never got to speak to the manager. The lady that answered the phone warned me if I called Hilton or Hampton inn corporate that it would only come back to them alluding to the fact that Hilton is not going to do one darn thing about it! She was right and lets talk BEDBUGS. Yes Bed bugs. Two of my guests had bed bug bites and the video of the actual bed bugs on them. Also Natasha told another guest asking for a blanket in their room because of heat issues that she was busy right now because she has issues with her son. Wow What a Downgrade Hampton Inn has become and the HILTON BRAND.

CEO CHRISTOPHER NASSETTA of Hilton Hotels confirmed that it is NOT standard practice to knock…
April 29, 2023

ALERT *** HILTON HOTELS*** ALERT!
CEO CHRISTOPHER NASSETTA of Hilton Hotels confirmed that it is NOT standard practice for HILTON HOTELS housekeeping staff to knock before entering a guests' room. ***SHOCKING*** How is this NOT standard practice?

My husband and I stayed at the Hilton Hotel in Clearwater Fl to celebrate our Anniversary. We stayed 3 nights. Our check out time was extended by concierge. Prior to checkout, as I walked out of the shower and after wrapping a towel on my head, a male employee from housekeeping barged into our room without knocking - holding the door wide open as I stood there in shock and frozen with just a towel on my head. I could hear guests in the hallway gasp and one even screamed. The male housekeeping employee stood there staring at me with what felt like an eternity until he finally left without apologizing. I was shocked, frozen, humiliated, embarrassed and felt completely violated! How could this happen? How can the housekeeping staff enter without knocking? I would expect this would be a standard rule, the number one rule when entering a guests' room, but apparently NOT at Hilton Hotels.

The Manager at the Hilton Hotel Clearwater was apologetic and offered me a refund of a one night stay and the Senior Management Team offered an additional 2 "Be My Guest" Certificates. They also said they were going to change their practice and protocols so that this does not happen to another guest.

When we returned home, I received a call from Quitta Johnson-a Hilton Executive Ambassador for CEO Christopher Nassetta. It was crystal clear that Quitta Johnson and CEO Christopher Nasetta did not personally find this incident of dire significance. Quitta Johnson and CEO Christopher Nassetta even said "The incident took place on the last day of your stay, not impacting the prior nights." What a shocking response! I was violated and they think its okay because it happened at the end of our trip. How disconnected is this CEO? Quitta Johnson and CEO Christopher Nasetta found that the 2 'Be My Guest' Certificates that were offered by the Senior Management Team was worth more than our entire 3 night stay so CEO Christopher Nassetta retracted and voided the certificates and instead, just refunded the remainder of our stay, the much significant lesser amount. I find it appalling that Quitta Johnson and CEO Christopher Nassetta find that 2 BMG Certificates are more important and more valuable than my safety and privacy.

The actions of this CEO Christopher Nassetta and Quitta Johnson are alarming, appalling, repulsive, highly concerning and offensive! One would have to think twice about staying at any of the Hilton Properties with this leadership. This CEO and Quitta Johnson clearly do not care about their members and guests… Quitta Johnson and CEO Christopher Nassetta were not genuinely apologetic at all, they were quite the opposite, they don't care about our privacy, they have no morals, they are not ethical, they do not care about the safety and privacy of loyal customers that frequent their hotel.

The Good, The Bad and The Cheap
March 2, 2023

We recently stayed 6 nights. From afar its beautiful. Up close, its a 17 year hotel that need some remodeling. The location is fabulous. Beautiful beaches and views. Conrad made an excellent decision in buying this property. The Good.
After checking, about 4pm, in we went to the Careenage bar/restaurant just off the front lobby. There were only 2 people inside, a man behind the bar and a woman at a barstool. Neither recognized our existence. After sitting at a table for 5ish minutes we figured it just open yet. (The bartender couldn't have said something?). So, we shuffled down to the bar/grill in the pool area. It was maybe 1/3 occupied and there were 2 waitresses. Again, 5ish minutes with no service from either waitress. No recognition of our existence. OK, maybe we're supposed to order at the bar. My wife went to the bar and ordered our drinks. An old fashioned for me and an oj and tonic for her, (she doesn't drink). Alrighty then, we're back in business. The old fashioned was mediocre but I killed it off. Attempted another order. Again, we sat there for several minutes watching the waitresses crush their ankles. Finally, one had to walk by our table to deliver someone else's order. "HEY, does this table get wait service or what" I asked. "Yes, what do you want," she answered laconically. We had another round and headed to their big restaurant, The Lighthouse for dinner.
The Lighthouse's menu is a one price, $110BD, dinner consisting of soup, salad, veggie choices, entrée, (4 choices), and desert. Not a bad deal. But all I wanted was the lamb curry and grilled vegetables. The very friendly and attentive waitress explained that I would have to pay more for this than for the full dinner. Ordered the dinner. The curry was pretty good but the grilled veggies were cold and soggy. The Bad.
Two days later we decided to retry the Careenage for a round of drinks. The service was good, the O.F. Was meh and I presented a free drink coupon, (given at check in to Diamond members). The waiter advised the coupon would pay for wifey's orange juice but not the old fashioned. WTF? The coupon clearly states its good for 1, non blended drink. A somewhat surly manager came over and told me the coupon is not valid for blended drinks or call alcohol. I advised that an o.f. Isn't blended and I didn't request any call alcohol. He simply stated its not good for that drink. I don't know if this manager was confused or was rotely following Hilton's instructions. Now the $7 difference, (o.j. Vs o.f.), isn't going to break us but nobody likes a bait and switch. The Cheap.

After this second encounter with the Careenage we decided to take our eating and drinking outside of the Hilton. This could be a challenge for people who are not comfortable walking a bit.

Overall the hotel is nice, comfortable and like I stated, the views. It could use some cosmetics and some trim pieces here and there. The electronics on the elevators are a bit hinky and the ice machine on our floor/wing was broken for the duration of our stay. As our stay was paid on points, we don't feel cheated but would not consider returning at retail prices.
