Avoid Hello-Gorgeous.net like the plague
June 13, 2014

Avoid Hello-Gorgeous.net like the plague.

This place is hosted by Yahoo! Shopping, but has a name similar to other Hello Gorgeous web sites that are apparently not related. However, this place is operated like a scam web site, and it appears they have been going about it for some time. They have at least 2 phone numbers linking them to scammers trying to obtain your credit card information. BEWARE.

The bottom line is Customer Service usually can remedy a lot of ills, but this company has extremely poor customer service, and comes off as SHADY. They backordered my [discontinued] merchandise 6-8 weeks, but are STILL advertising it on their web site as available--very UNETHICAL. They advertise same-day shipping, and 100% satisfaction guaranteed. That's a farce.

Essentially, they will leave you hanging; they will not return e-mails; you will wait on hold, be disconnected, and NEVER talk to anyone. Your merchandise might be backordered for 6-8 weeks, as mine was, and your credit card will be charged without receiving the merchandise. You will either get upset or simply give up and call the credit card company--either way, it seems a hassle.

As stated on their web site, orders are placed with the agreement that items advertised are in stock and will be sent immediately, and that CHARGES to the credit card will be at SHIPPING--not upon receiving the order. However, my credit card was immediately charged, and my order was placed on backorder for 6-8 weeks with no credit to my account. After they backordered on me and I could not get a hold of THEM, a search for information about them linked me up to a couple of SPAM telemarketers (see below). (And incidentally, not too much importance should be placed on paste-on icons claiming Life&Style Top 10 and Top Yahoo! Shopping Merchant status as these icons are not clickable, and do not link to the sites named. Only when they are clickable and can bring up the name of the company are these of any significance.)

In summary, these are the main problems I had with them that you can expect as well... unless they change their ways. (Others who have reviewed them say the same thing.)

1) E-mails will go unanswered (*******@hello-gorgeous.net or *******@hello-gorgeous.net).
2) FICTITIOUS Contact Us web form page when they link to your order: "Site not found, go back and try again."
3) DEFUNCT Contact Telephone Number *******255 on their site.

You will likely never talk to anyone. As a pretense, however, you will sit on hold for awhile, then--despite their claims that you should never be on hold for more than 60 sec or they will call you back in 2 hours--you will be directed to leave a call-back number only to find out their voice mailbox is FULL and you will be immediately DISCONNECTED.

4) SPAM-type Auto-Response Telephone Numbers given to Yahoo* and Visa** as their OWN contact numbers, actually link to their "partners" who are just trying to obtain your credit card information:

********863 listed in Yahoo's Merchant information: selling a "discount CASH card." (You will be disconnected if you do not give them a credit card number!)
*********000 listed in Visa merchant contact info: "giving" a 2-day Bahamas cruise (strings attached/your credit card information, of course).

I had wanted some of the [discontinued] merchandise, but I just could not get a hold of anyone. Since I had used a temporary virtual credit card number good only for that transaction, I went ahead and closed it out with just a click. But, not every credit card has that feature, so you be the judge if you want to shop with them, of course. If you at least pay with a credit card it can be reversed if they backorder on you, or whatever, so you will have some viable recourse.
