After ordering the Handy Gym, the wait was interminable and when it finally arrived it was defective. This was the beginning of an almost three month nightmare between me, Handy Gym (HG), and Touch of Modern (T of M). I initially just wanted to return it to be repaired or replaced. I contacted T of M's "VIP Customer Service," which I later determined the name had to be a joke, because I wasn't hardly treated like a VIP. Instead, I was treated as if I were stupid and didn't know how to operate the product. I might add that I have a JD and LLM degree. I was given the run around for almost three months. When I asked for a return authorization, they said that I had to go to Handy Gym. When I contacted Handy Gym, they said I had to go to T of M. But, not until they questioned my ability to operate the HG. I attempted several times to explain that the item was defective. If it were not, it was too complicated, and I didn't want it. I finally disputed the charge with my credit card company who credited the purchase price back to me. I then gave T of M a deadline to send me a RMA or I was going to dispose of the item. The next day I received the RMA. If T of M had done this three months earlier, I would not be writing this. This was one of the most disappointing purchases that I have ever made, because I was looking forward to receiving the HG for so long and really wanted it to work.

Tip for consumers:
I purchased a 300 lbs barbell and a Bowflex dumbbell set for half the cost of the Handy Gym. It’s not as portable but at least it works.
