Want to order food when you're hungry? Want to wait 45 minutes for it, then have the driver mark the order as delivered but never actually deliver? Then use grubhub! Call their customer service number +1 *******878 and get some foreigner to apologize and issue you a refund while you're pissed that you're still hungry. I absolutely LOATHE this garbage company. Use anyone BUT them.

Hello i work with grubhub and i have applied for a grant with them but i am starting to fell like it was a joke and was falty grant i called them about 3 times and the first to they just hung up on me and the last one did help but all she could do is send me a link that does not work so at this point i just felt like writing this complaint if you are a customer that orders from grubhub thank you and tips are very helpful for grubhub does not pay that well again thank for your tips

So, I have used Grubhub in Tucson to get food for my son with excellent results. I have now used (or tried to use) Grubhub in Phoenix 3 times while here for business. 2 of those 3 times my order was cancelled. No reason was given, they just cancelled about 15 minutes after I ordered. It just happened again, so now I'm ordering pizza and I probably won't use Grubhub in Phoenix anymore.

I placed an order for Popeye's. After waiting for about an hour I checked on my order. About that time my phone rang, it was GrubHub. It rang once and then stopped. I checked my order again and found it had been cancelled. I had been craving fried chicken for sometime now. Guess I'll have to wait a bit longer. We order last night for McDonalds and Burger King and had no problems. Not sure what went wrong this time.

I order from them every now and then because they send so many coupons. The problem is drivers multiapping. I understand why many do it (base pay is too low) but even on well-tipped orders ($5 min/$2 per mile), some drivers will run all over the town while your meal sits in their car for 30+ minutes when you're 5 minutes away from the restaurant. This happens nine out of ten times. Doesn't matter if the order is ready right when the driver arrives at the restaurant or not. I'm aware some places have started to confirm orders when the driver accepts the offer so it's understandable they will multiapp while waiting to pick up the food but not after they have it and certainly not going in a different direction! There are just too many drivers that are terrible at multi-apping but can get away with it on this platform because there is no rating system.

Ordered online and use grub hub. The last two times we wrote a message to the driver stating to please knock on sliding door. Both time our food sat outside for over 20 min before we went and looked for it.

Great service. Mostly, alittle inflated in pricing compared to in restaurant prices. But the order tracking! Omg! The interface is horrible It does need a lot of work. It zooms in so no detail as to location of driver is discernible. And it's completely inaccurate. Tracking therefor is useless. It needs attention to be useful

I always choose Grubhub over Doordash Because they seem to usually have the order correct. Actually, my only complaint (and this only applies to tonight's order) is that my order was dropped off with ZERO notification. Not a text, not a doorbell ring, not an email, NOTHING. Eventually I just decided to check the front porch and it was there. What TF man?! It was there. Everything that I ordered, exactly as I had ordered. Good job GrubHub but…I had NO IDEA it was on the freaking porch man! Why? Why? There's an option to NOT ring the doorbell…hmm, we'll that wasn't selected sooo? And this was the FIRST time that I received a delivery that I wasn't notified about. I would be really effing disappointed to learn that Grubhub was instructing its employees to NOT ring the doorbell or knock on the effing door. Please don't tell me that was the problem. Because that is just ridiculous. So perhaps either instruct your drivers to NOTIFY THE RECIPIENT OF THE ORDER DELIVERY (I know, crazy right?) ORRRRR present an option for the recipient to choose what their delivery option should be. Not rocket science.

Get your address wrong 1/10 deliveries so get ready to pay for your order twice. Drivers cant follow instructions. Get refunded 1/3 even if you're missing 2/3 of your order.

The driver was late due to a change in drivers. Don't know why? The food was cold. The order wasn't exactly filled. The driver Jonathan was nice and the food showed up. So I wouldn't say the service is bad but I would say that it has lots of room for improvements. Thank you for trying

UPDATED REVIEW:

Was 1-Star... NOW 3-Star(plus... not quite 4-Star)
Was a problematic corporate leech on small business at first... much improved since then.
Was "automated" like the others at first. NOW Live Tech/Live Operator/Live Driver "ready".
Still a few bugs to work out... BUT IMPROVING.

MOST of these so-called "3rd Party Delivery" businesses INTRUDE & LEECH off honest small businesses that DO NOT REQUEST their assistance & it causes lots of grief.
After talking with a direct rep thefirst time & telling her small businesses don't want to feel intruded upon; things changed... for the better... so far.

1. MOST 3rd Party Delivery Corporations constantly call from their corporate office with automated operators... but do not want to pay the business they are trying to leech off UP-FRONT.
Red Flag #1.

Grubhub has LIVE representation, LIVE HELP LINES & actual personal drivers.
THAT IS A PLUS.

2. These 3rd party delivery businesses try sneakily sending drivers after the business says to cease their intrusion; by using some "universal debit system" OR a aeperate kiosk NOT associated with the host business; which the system never really works most of the time...& when it goes through, they try to put a "stop payment" against the card/system & the business loses revenue.
OR the dishonest drivers use the funds their customers charge on the universal card...& the business falls victim to losses...
Red Flag #2.

BUT NOT GRUBHUB!
They actually work with the businesses now & THAT is extremely helpful.

3. Grubhub has IMPROVED honest marketing pitches & the phone doesn't constantly ring-off-the-hook with annoying calls.
The OTHERS have NOT.

The others just "hire more staff" to distance themselves from the small business they intrude upon & create more problems as a result.
Grubhub has worked directly WITH the businesses they want to cooperate with... NON-intrusively as well.

Businesses, customers & most drivers ALWAYS lose out with these automated systems... but Grubhub works WITH drivers & businesses, makes their money, makes sure drivers & businesses make THEIR money, TOO...& hasn't "intruded on small businesses" since they updated their system.

It's really a racket as far as I see it... plain & simple.
Some are more decent than others, though.

Are you someone who opposes small businesses that oppose the 2020 (& present day) small business takeover?
You have NO CLUE.
Try running a small business FIRST & get back to me.

Desire delivery options from businesses that don't have their own independent delivery system?
Choose wisely.
There are options, but research thoroughly FIRST.
Just because something has "been around longer" OR is "the most popular" doesn't mean it's "better".

GrubHub is not the worst delivery I have ever gotten. But it's far from the best. Most of the time if, I order just a combo of this or that from some restaurant. You can do just fine using GrubHub. It's when you start to add on the small stuff that things start to get messed up. Like today I ordered from KFC and in that order, I was 1 Crispy Colonel Combo Extra Crispy, w/ Cole Slaw, Iced Tea
1 Mashed Potatoes & Gravy
1 Mac & Cheese
2 Honey Mustard Sauce

Well, when I got my order there was no Honey Mustard Sauce and instead of an iced tea, they sent me what tastes like a Coke could have been Pepsi.

Well, when I sent a text to the delivery driver and asked if she had checked my order because my Honey Mustard Sauce was missing and that they had given her a soda, not ice tea. The delivery driver replayed sorry about that. They don't allow us to check the orders. But I did ask if they had gotten everything.

Now I would like to know-how in the world large companies like GrubHub would not allow an order to be checked before they make the delivery. It only makes sense that they would have their drivers check the order to make sure the order is correct. So that their customers are pleased with their service and would be willing to order from them again.

At least I can say that when I call GrubHub customer service, they did give me a refund of my order for almost half do to the fact that my ice tea was part of a combo meal. But they should still allow for the orders to be checked before they leave the restaurant.

They are still advertising for a restaurant that has stopped doing business with them. I put an order in for the restaurant. Thank goodness I call them to get my extra stuff to be charged. The restaurant told me they were not working with GrubHub anymore. So could you imagine if I had just waited for the forty -five minutes before I called. It would of been a whole hour and a half maybe two before I would of spoken to anyone. So now I have to wait three to five business days before I can get my money back and nothing to eat either.

We've ordered three times - first time was fine. Second time it was "delayed" and food was cold. Right now it has been delayed again. Over 20 minutes since last estimated delivery time. Ice cold again? Never using them again. Disappointed is the least I can say.

It takes 7 to 10 days for them to credit money back to your account after you purchase and the restaurant cancesl due to not having your order after waiting an hour and a half to two hours. This is nuts. I must say that GrubHub did try to make up for the lost funds by giving me a voucher to order more food but there is a catch, I still had to pay xtra money out of my pocket to cover tip, taxes, etc..

Contrary to the frightening reviews my food arrived within the hour. Soggy but in one piece! Can't blame them for this as we did order burgers so... man I was petrified after reading the reviews do t think I will order here again because of them. But he first time we got our food fairly quickly thank God.

Let me assist you sheep in understanding a few things.

1. Calling the restaurant if your food is late or cold or wrong and them telling you they did everything right is foolish. What did you expect them to say? Drivers don't open containers and look at your food - that would be unsanitary and uncool.

2. You live on the 4th floor but don't add an apt number, or your house is not marked well, or you know GPS often messes up your address... etc, what do you expect when stuff is late and you failed to give good directions?

3. Most important, you don't tip or tip lousy. Here is the rub people; drivers are not Grubhub "employees", they're independent contractors who make it on tips and a flat delivery rate regardless of distance or challenges. If you don't tip or the delivery total is too low (because you didn't tip or tipped just a buck or two), very few will accept the offer to deliver and you may get your food very late, or not at all.

Let me explain this to you. Driver A is sitting 5 linear miles from restaurant when offer comes in, but it's 7 traffic miles across town to drive. From the restaurant to your home it's 3 linear miles - but 5 traffic miles to drive. You tipped nothing, and Grubhub pays the driver in linear miles at avg. 25 cents per mile from restaurant only with a flat rate of $3.50. So do the math:

3.50 delivery rate. 75 mileage rate
4.25 total for 30-45 minutes time, finding parking, getting food, finding you, delivering food, driving 12 miles total.

A driver is not going to accept that offer, and why would they?

You want delivery tip 4-5 bucks minimum. If you can't afford it - don't order delivery.

Would be nice to be sent discounts on purchases once in awhile. I've spent $1,000 in 6 months and the only offer/discount I was offered was upon sign up.$7 measly bucks! Thanks a lot!

For some time I ordered frequently and there was no minimum and no fee. Then suddenly there were both minimums and fees (around $5) and when I ordered something for $9,99 I was not allowed to order unless I add another item AND pay a $4,99 delivery fee. I am old and homebound so I can"t order anymore.

I have been ordering from Grubhub for a while now with no problems, but tonight couldn't pay for it through PayPal. I like to use my PayPal. It kept circling. I refreshed over and over until I finally said to hell with it. I ordered through eat24 and it went right through. Their gain is your loss. If it happens again I will not come back.

I've ordered from GrubHub before, but it's been awhile.
Now today after the Hwy 101 fiasco I need to treat myself to some food.
I placed an order at 5:30 and it said it'd be here at 6:54.
Then it was revised to 8:19 and when I called the restaurant they let me know that GrubHub has been tripping and they had only received my order at 7:20.
They need to put an alert on their app.
Also, I never received the confirmation text.
I'm even more irritated now.
I probably will delete the app after this incident.

Inferior restaurants, iffy payment processing (sometimes PayPal and credit card payments work flawlessly, other times they don't work at all), way off delivery times (food arrives way sooner or way later than estimated delivery.) Now I know most people probably wont complain about an earlier than expected delivery, but sometimes this too can be annoying. Imagine being told that you have around 35-45 minutes before your order arrives, so you decide to hop in the shower, maybe shave and get dressed, only to end up with an angry delivery person on your doorstep threatening to take the food back to the restaurant when they arrived away ahead of the expected delivery time. The other extreme is waiting for what feels like hours for food from a restaurant that you could have walked to and back from multiple times. A restaurant that is never very busy and is presently in a slow period when you place your order. These are just a few areas where Grubhub needs to improve.

So they did deliver our food but the person doing thedelivery called me to complain! She kept telling me that they were making her drive 30 minutes to bring our food and she isn't getting paid, by the time we got our food it was completely cold and soggy.

Excellent tacos! Had to stop in for a try, really! Hand made tortillas for their tacos, salsas were good and the concept is worthy.
