Laptop Battery

BEWARE THIS SCAM COMPANY. They have UK in their website name but are really scammers based in mainland China. They sell counterfeit laptop batteries that DO NOT WORK. I bought an Apple Mac battery from them. It arrived shipped from a warehouse on the UK south coast. Faulty battery did not work. It would not charge and remained flat. Kept removing battery, resetting laptop, replacing battery. Left for many hours on charge. It showed fully charged but steadfastly remained completely flat. Emailed them with problem details and asked for a replacement. They just sent pathetic emails saying "try remove, reset laptop, then recharge. Do this many times." Luckily I had paid with PayPal so after many weeks of being fobbed off, I raised a dispute with PayPal. The dodgy company insisted I return the faulty battery to an address in Guangdong China before offering any refund through PayPal. I return it by Royal Mail carrier but they rejected the package as dangerous goods and destroyed it. Luckily PayPal are arranging to pay me a full refund. But I'm still out of pocket on shipping charges. IT IS A SCAM: Dodgy Chinese companies masquerading as good British or European companies. They import sea containers full of counterfeit goods from China that will never work, are dangerous and sell them on to unsuspecting customers. Maybe 50% of people never bother trying to get a refund, so the dodgy company keeps all of their money. 50% of the rest of us get tons of hassle and maybe our money back eventually after months have passed, minus all our return-shipping charges. So why are these scammers doing it?

They make plenty of cash by investing customer's money at high interest rates for many months and get to keep much of it to add to their profits. Eventually they get forced to return maybe 50% of the original money. They fob everyone off with excuses in-the-meantime to maximise their interest gains. Asking you to send the item back to China also earns them more time delays and extra interest as well. They have now made plenty of interest and kept all unclaimed money on interest as well. Nice little earner scam for them this one. Report them to UK Trading Standards online and get them closed down / moved on or have all their dodgy counterfeit goods seized from their warehouses in the UK. Some people report their laptops getting hot and bursting into flames so get them closed down now before they do more damage!

Why is it that you only find these reviews after you have bought from these dodgy firms? It will teach me not to rely on the 5-star ratings they put on their Google listings purporting to come from trust pilot!

Got sent the wrong battery, emailed them about it and they gave me a link to get the right one which arrived today. I think it was their fault, they say it is mine. They said they would refund me after I returned it. The post office wouldn't accept my return as it's a battery and this company won't send me a returns label for hermes or collect plus to ensure a safe easy return.
Their emails started off ok but ended up fairly curt and after a week of this I am giving up and will have to bear the loss of the wrong battery.
Conclusion: they are cheap……. But only if they work properly and you don't have to return one. I wish I hadn't bought the second battery from them now…. I hope it holds its charge. From other's comments, I suspect it might not!
Right…. The second battery…. Held its charge for 1 hour only on Zoom.

The correct model battery was sent, but it would not charge (verified by an independent IT technician). I contacted them directly to explain and after sending them photos of my original battery and the one they sent, they have given me a full refund.

I'd give it 0 stars if I could. This company is not a legitimate uk company it just has a warehouse premises in Southall.
You will get your battery but it will be accompanied by nonesense stating that the battery will need to be charged/ discharged for 5 cycles to reach its optimum. This is nonesense- this is to delay you finding out that you have purchased a dud/ unfit for purpose battery.
Your 3 year warranty is a croc; you will not receive a replacement as you will not be able to get hold of anyone and all communications will go unanswered.
DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY. IT IS A CHINESE BASED COMPANY FLOGGING DODGEY STOCK VIA a UK WAREHOUSE FOR PROFIT.
Before you buy elsewhere here's a checklist:
1. Look for a business registration number (if they are UK business) and check it on Companies House to see if the number is legal and the company is active.
2. Do they have a contact address and number within the UK - phone up and get further info on your product choice to see if the number is valid and the staff are useful.
3. Email the company and ask for information regarding their warranty terms.
4. Purchase through PayPal as they will help you recoup any money you have spent on a problem purchase provided that you do this through their Resolution Centre within 60 days of original purchase date.

If you have already been fleeced by Good-Batteries.co.uk make a complaint to the Trading Standards Office. Given enough complaints they will close this company (warehouse) down. You can file a complaint online.

Do not expect to get any response from this company: they are a scam company selling poor quality products without impunity as they are NOT LEGIT (UK company). All that can be done is to have their warehouse shut down and DODGEY products seized.

Bought a laptop battery that was the wrong one despite having the MPN needed (false advertising)

Then through my own expense sent this back as instructed with the returns number clearly on the box (RMA). After a week I enquired where my credit was. I was told they didn't have the product back. I had sent it on a courier and it had been signed for. I have written to them twice since. Now not responding to me. Incredibly poor service. No phone number to complain to and they advertise falsely in my opinion. Avoid at all costs. Still owed credit!

Matched up my laptop for the correct replacement as per the website -followed the instructions and after 10 minutes - yes just 10 minutes battery started to smell and was too hot to touch. Removed it from the laptop wearing gloves and it had started to melt! No contact details available so had to resort to Paypal to complain and get a refund. This is their response -

Trades under various web sites. This company tries to claim it's in the UK, it has a shipping agent in the UK but is based in China. The products are fake, cheap and probably very dangerous. They don't reply to emails and Paypal were hopeless as they wanted me to ship it back to China before processing a refund, this would have cost far more than the battery so despite paying with Paypal thinking I was protected I lost all of my money. This site needs to be reported as its a total scam. On the plus side a have found an excellent supplier of quality batteries

Bought a laptop battery for Inspiron 1501. The battery came FROM CHINA but it would not click into the laptop. Each time i lift the laptop the battery falls out. Would have got more satisfaction STANDING OUTSIDE IN THE WIND AND LETTING MY £26.95 GET BLOWN AWAY IN THE WIND. BEWARE? DON, T buy anything from these people. From China you will get what you don, t want... Rating MINUS 0.

So they want ME to pay for the correct item to be sent. With out it being repaid to me.

Battery received NOT working, now I cannot get hold of them by email and they have NO telephone number on their webpage, would not buy again.

NEVER EVER BUY A battery from this site. They send to everyone a wrong and totaly rubish battery which is 3 times bigger than your old one. So there is no laptop for this battery. No battery, no replay from them no money back.

I ordered a battery for Toshiba satellite 10 years old!. I t came quickly but could not get it to charge, I sent them an email saying that no matter what I tried it would not charge! Not expecting much help as the battery was on offer. Total cost includeing p&p £22. They emailed me back within 8 hrs and told me. A new one would be sent within 24 hr which it did and it works. I have just looked at the reviews for the first time and they are bad! So felt I had to do this review as they were very helpful to me.

I order a Toshiba battery before finding this site. The PayPal receipt was from a Chinese sounding company. I had nothing direct form 'good batteries' until 4 days later. Which thanks me for my order then said 2to 5 workign days for delivery. It of course it came next day (a Saturday) and luckily I was in.
The return address was Litchfield rather than London and a different company name. The actual battery seems fine and changed OK, so no fault there. But slow response and lack of phone numbers on web site means I would not risk them again.
