I've been buying shoes on GOAT since 2019. I have around 10 pairs of sneakers that I bought exclusively through the app. I started selling clothes and sneakers online via depop/ebay/grailed/vestiare and StockX in 2024. After 7 months I've sold over 500 items, and have 5 star reviews across the board on the sites I sell on. In August I decided to try and sell a pair of Jordan's via GOAT. The shoes sold within a day of being on the site, and GOAT notified me that I had 3 days from the day they were sold to confirm the order and ship the shoes. The shoes sold Wednesday night, and I had until Saturday 8/31 to ship the shoes to GOAT for verification. As I was traveling for work on Thursday and Friday, I shipped the shoes on Saturday 8/31 with UPS by 2:37 pm. The next day on Saturday I got a notification from GOAT that my sale was canceled as I had not shipped the shoes on time. I checked my UPS tracking and the shoes were labeled as shipped. I sent them the receipt of when I dropped the shoes off as well as the status from UPS thinking this would rectify whatever mistake led to my sale being canceled. Instead I was gaslit, blatantly ignored, and when my shoes arrived to GOAT they told me to pay to have my shoes sent back to me, or let them keep it for consignment (does that not sound scammy). Ultimately after refusing to help/understand that I wasn't in the wrong I chose to have my shoes sent back to me. The sent no tracking information or any updates. My shoes are now missing after GOAT sent them back to me at my own cost. So after cancelling my order for no reason even though the shoes were shipped on time, now my sneakers are gone forever. Thanks for absolutely nothing and giving me the worst headache.
Goat is by far one of the worst apps to use to buy sneakers. I will go over the many terrible experiences I have had and heed my warning...stay away from this dumpster fire app and company.
First you can place bids for sneakers and at some point they may fill. Your credit card is charged and you wait for an update from goat saying they are in transit or have been authenticated. A week later after the seller does not ship the shoes your finally get an update from goat saying the seller failed to ship and a return will go back to your credit card. This has happened to me more then 10-15 times in the last year or two.
Another issue is when the bid fills and a seller ships an item to the authenticator that is not at all what you ordered. When this happens the authenticator is suppose to catch this and sometimes they do however sometimes they dont. When they catch this they offer you some sort of discount like 10% for a pair of used shoes when you clearly ordered new shoes. Sorry but thats another waste of time. Now on the other hand when they dont catch the mistake and send you used shoes when they are suppose to be new; or send you a box that is in terrible condition when the listing says good box. This is unacceptable and it shows the complete incompetence of the authenticators at goat. This last order i placed (I have photos as proof) was for a listing that said "New in Box." What I recieved is some raggedy shoes that quite frankly I wouldnt even expect to see on the shelves at Goodwill. The fact that an authenticator authenticated a used pair of raggedy trash as new is mind boggling to me. So I immediately contact goat for customer support and send them a bunch of photos. Instead of assisting with an immediate refund they ask for a shoe tag photo. So I send them the photo and we are waiting for a response. Even if they offer a refund at this point I have zero trust in this company and hopefully this shows why you shouldnt either.
Seriously buyer beware. This site use to make sellers put photos up of their listings to ensure quality. Since they took away that requirement I have had multiple issues with order cancellations and unsatisfactory quality of products. Do yourself a favor and use a different site to obtain your sneakers. This site isnt worth the head aches.
Avoid at all costs. Seriously!
Suppose to use new Sneakers but they were used garbage
The MOST HORRIFIC customer service that i have ever experienced in my life. Jheremy C. And Nash N. Are the representatives that i dealt with that did NOT resolve my concerns. I was sold a NEW shoe that i had been waiting on and was so excited for the shoe to arrive in USED condition. The shoes had scuffs on the bottom, written numbers, brown and black marks. It was unmistakably a used shoe for sure. I wrote to customer service and explained what i received - a used shoe. I have a video of when i first received the shoes and multiple images of every angle of the shoes. I spoke to several individuals explaining that the shoe was in USED CONDITION. I spent over $200 for a shoe that i thought was new. I requested a full refund only to be given the run around. GOAT tried to offer me a store credit and/or discount. I WOULD NOT accept it and told them that I am requesting a FULL REFUND for a shoe that was not sold to me in NEW CONDITION. After i said i would like my matter rectified and to speak with a supervisor, Nash N. Said that he would refund me my money to my original form of payment upon my return. I returned the shoe to GOAT, great - I thought everything was going well. I received yet another email from a different person stating the shoe was in used condition and that i could only resell the shoe or receive a store credit. I thought that was hilarious as my receipt and account information show the shoe listed and sold as NEW. I received an email from Jheremy C. After i sent screen shots of my email exchange from Nash N. Telling me that i would receive a full refund to my original form of payment. After that, Jheremy C. Responded back saying the shoe was listed as used and that i could not receive a refund. This is the first time that someone told me that the shoe was listed as used when my receipt and account clearly say NEW so you cannot dispute that. GOAT has lied and said that the shoe was sold as used. Nash N. Clearly said the shoe was new and sold as used which is why he agreed to offer me a full refund after multiple email exchanges, images, and video. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY. Their specialists are so bad, the customer service reps are even worse. They don't even have a phone number to contact someone for an issue. Very unacceptable. DO NOT BUY! I will take this even further!
DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THIS SITE EVER!
Nothing!
To whom it may concern,
I have done multiple shoe deals with this company for years and would have given them them 5 stars every time before this experience. I ordered new shoes that were supposed to be authenticated as usual by a specialist assuring they were new. I ordered the air max penny photon dust in the beginning of October. I had been in the process of getting ready to move to Spain at the end of the month and thought I would receive them before leaving but did not.
Once my brother who still lived in NJ picked them up for me he immediately sent me a picture telling me they are huge black scuff marks on the side and most definitely work and not new. Once I reached out to the customer service specialist it had been only 5 days past their 3 day window policy. They told me because I did not write them within 3 day window I was entitled to nothing and the following ensued. The fact that I have been waiting this long for a supervisor and/or competent customer service specialist just dropped this company to 1 star or lower for me. Not only have I done over 10k in business with them but I boasted their reputation as the premier authenticator. Absolutely no loyalty in this app and because of its quick rise to fame now is becoming on pr or worse than stockX and I'm sure will slowly only keep getting worse
I had the unfortunate experience of dealing with one of your least professional customer experience specialists Luis O., once I received my recent order #*******. Below you will find the thread of our conversation, photos, and my explanation of why I didn't realize the shoes that were supposed to be new arrived damaged. I also explained that I ordered the shoes at my old address in New Jersey before moving to Spain, thinking they would arrive in time but they did not. Therefore I explained that I had to wait until my brother who lives in Jackson NJ had time to go get the shoes for me in Hawthorne, and once he opened them he immediately sent me photos saying they are clearly worn and scuffed.
I have done a bunch of business with your company as you can see from my seller history but this transaction with Louis O. Left more than a bad taste in my mouth. I explained to him the entire situation about receiving the "new" shoes clearly damaged, and all he could say is you are outside the 3-day window so I cannot offer you a return, refund, or credit with no empathy. I have never had a ticket handled this poorly, every other specialist has been more than helpful and understanding. That should be the case with this scenario as well since I moved overseas, and obviously could not meet the 3-day guidelines since I was moving to a different continent! I believe at this point I am entitled to a refund, substantial credit, and the damaged shoes.
I also told him multiple times in previous emails to connect me with a supervisor which he has actively ignored for days now stretching the timeline even further. I have never lied or tried to scam your company, as soon as I received a picture of the shoes from my brother is when I reached out to you guys looking for a solution. With my track record and future plans of using your company and boasting its reputation, I expect a satisfactory solution. I highly recommend you reprimand Louis O. For his poor customer service skills or get rid of him entirely because I have never experienced a situation like this with one of your specialists. I hope you can see the whole thread of our conversation last week and realize I do not have any more patience for this situation, especially if you want me to keep being an advocate for your company. Please connect me with one of your supervisors or his supervisor as soon as possible, or I will turn into a devil's advocate pretty quickly.
Still waiting to hear from his supervisor but nobody has gotten back to me including him and it's been over 4 weeks!
Best

Don’t use it anymore
Would give zero stars if it was an option. DO NOT use this website. A TOTAL SCAM. Ordered a specific pair of Jordans that my niece wanted for her birthday. Took forever to get to me, not a huge deal, but once we finally received them, she tried on ONE shoe for maybe 2-3 minutes max and said they were too big. The other shoe never even left the box. I promptly returned them only to receive an email saying the shoes had been worn, had scuffs, etc, therefore I would not be getting my money back. They even sent pictures of said "damage" and I saw nothing. They offered to consign them for me (at less than what I purchased them for since they had been "damaged"), OR refund me an amount that they deemed they are worth now after the "damage". I told them one shoe hadn't even left the box and any damage they observed had to have been done in their handling of the shoe. Of course this was not accepted. I filed a fraud claim with my bank, as this entire experience seemed fraudulent at this point. Because I purposely made the purchase from the website, my bank was unable to call it fraud and refund me my money. I then attempted to get the shoes back from GOAT so I could consign them myself, as I was increasingly uncomfortable with them having both the shoes and my money. I tried multiple times to have them shipped to me via the app and continuously got an error message in spite of entering everything in correctly. I finally got a customer service rep to manually send me a PayPal invoice so I could pay $14.50 to have the shoes shipped back to me (more $$ out of my pocket and still no shoes). He confirmed the receipt of my payment and assured me that I would be able to view tracking info for the shoes on the app in the next few business days. I waited about a week and was never able to obtain any tracking info, so I began emailing again looking for a status update. After a number of unanswered emails, I finally got a response saying that they could not ship the shoes until the fraud claim with my bank was "resolved in their favor" (so why did they accept my shipping payment if they were unable to ship the product at that time?). At this point I had already received confirmation from my bank that they resolved the claim and would not be refunding my money (in other words, resolved in GOAT's favor), however a GOAT rep stated via email that resolution with my bank could take up to another 2 weeks and they would not be sending me the shoes until then. My next step is obviously to send them the document I have from my bank showing that the fraud claim has already been resolved in their favor. It has been MONTHS and this company STILL has my money, plus additional shipping AND the shoes. Do not use this website, you will regret it. SPREAD THE WORD!
