Really, both of these sites use the same business model in that they work on your site's reputation and credibility. But glassdoor frames itself as a recruitment and hiring platform and has better interface overall, that's why it ranks higher on most SEO pages for businsses over sitejabber.
This is a form of falsely accusing a company and perpetually maintaining that false accusation! Glassdoor keeps up old ratings before newer updated ratings! That is unfair and a company that does this should somehow be closed up! I understand if a company is so bad that almost everybody hates them having a low rating, but a company that had 1 person who didn't even work for the company 1 day give a review that negatively impacts the company, but then other employees stand up for the company and the rating is still the previous one - this should be illegal. I'm going to contact a lawyer to see how we can proceed in getting damages from this terrible company Glassdoor... someone please break it!
I use Glassdoor a lot. I recognize it has its faults. For example, a lot of companies with bad reviews force their employees to give the company 5 star reviews and, in the review itself, put that there are no cons to working there. It's awful that it's such a prevalent practice, but that is not the fault of Glassdoor. I still think that, in general, it is an extremely useful job hunting tool. That's how it should be viewed at least: as a tool. It shouldn't be the single deciding factor for accepting/declining a job offer.
You as a consumer need to be able to spot fake reviews. A dead giveaway is saying that a place has no cons. There is no such thing as a perfect workplace where everybody is happy and employees get everything they want. Also, the lack of details (e.g. Nothing mentioned about salaries, benefits, managerial styles, etc).
Attached is a photo of what an unreliable review looks like. Even if authentic, it doesn't actually say anything about what it's like to work at the company they posted for.

Company Reviews
I read the negative reviews on several companies i worked for and very few are NOT true or exaggerated. Maybe after reading those bad reviews the employer took action for doing better but nonetheless those reviews were useful about business mismanagement. A normal person should post an honest review to prevent more incidents in the future it's like giving blood. Glassdoor is among the last few line of defence from abusive employers due to a weak labor board who accept an employee to be terminate without a fair reason too often. Employers need to be more accountable and put in writing their reasons for termination to be send to the labor board for approval otherwise the job security is nonexistent. Deleting a bad review after it was accepted and posted on a review site is corruption by both the site and the employer. What can be done to change this, any suggestion?

Posting reviews on Glassdoor.
Wow I wonder how long these guys are going to stay in business?!?! No fact checking - Allowing any disgruntled employee, vendor, boyfriend/ girlfriend, neighbour etc... basically anyone can write anything, no matter how slanderous and false, thus rendering the site useless. Negative reviews are one thing and expected from people who are fired. But making personal attacks and very serious false accusations? I don't even know if it's legal to publicly post such slanderous things! Yikes!
Job search via Glassdoor is virtually useless. Pretty stale reposts from elsewhere. Salary estimates are reasonably accurate. Culture comments and interview intelligence are sometimes useful but a lot is just upset employees venting...
Like a barter system--you want something, you must give something. You cannot read any employer review unless you create an account. Immediately, it asks you to rate your own company and rate an interview. I guess that's how they build up data so quickly.
Found from experience of comparing reviews at places I've worked, not always fair to the companys listed.
