Gilt is a treasure trove for luxury fashion enthusiasts. The discounts on high-end brands are impressive, and the website's layout makes it easy to navigate. I've found stunning designer pieces at a fraction of their original price. However, be prepared to act quickly, as some items sell out fast. Shipping can sometimes be a tad slow, but the quality of items is consistently top-notch. Gilt's flash sales are addictive, and I've had more positive experiences than not. If you're willing to hunt for your next luxury steal, Gilt is definitely worth exploring.

I bought the dynamic lab "Mega lip plumper", advertised for $170 but discounted to $29. What a rip off! Absolutely NO plumping effect at all. On my receipt it said cost $0 but they charged me and I have it on my bank statement. This company should be looked at by the BBB! Don't waste your money!

I had to call GILT today regarding my order. I mistakenly put in the shipping to the wrong address. When I emailed them, they said they were happy to change the address via a phone call, but the Customer Service rep said that they can't make any changes to orders at this time. This is not the first time I had customer service issues with GILT. I only shopped here again because I had a credit from a previous customer service issue. I will not shop here anymore. Not worth the headache to deal with such poor customer service.

It takes weeks to get orders. It is legit and the return process is fast and easy... but if you need anything now... forget it.

I am still waiting for the evening dress to be delivered. It is on its way. I placed an order 2 weeks ago and got a half of the clothes. Looking ofrward to get it soon.

I really like the products from Gilt, but continue to be let down by their ability to fulfill in a timely fashion. I just placed an order for boots for my toddler son and they estimate shipment arrival in early to mid February. That is ridiculous. I ordered a wreath in the fall and it was 2 weeks later than anticipated. What gives? Why are they so lethargic? May have to reconsider buying any more from Gilt. I shop online a lot and they are by far the worst at timely order fulfillment.

Tip for consumers:
If you want something quickly, this is not your site. Their inability to fulfill quickly flies in the face of online shopping trends. The other online retailers I shop with regularly (Nordstrom, Saks, Amazon, JCrew, Gap) are way above and beyond Gilt in terms of fulfillment. Not sure what their issue is but it makes me think twice about ordering again from them when they tell me AFTER I ordered something that it will take a full month to fulfill.

In these instances, there can be a longer delivery period as we must wait until all orders are in from our members, order stock from the vendor, wait for it to come through and then ship it out. Some good deals, some duds. I've bought a few things I was happy with at a good price. More than once though I've had to fight with them to get a credit or refund when a Final Sale item was not as described...descriptions are often terrible.

While finalising my payment, gilt website flashes that there was a problem with the account and order may not be processed, so I resend the order and this time no problem. When the order came, I got two of everything, as it turned out the first payment was processed. Gilt is giving me a hard time with regards to return and refund because, it's the final sale-but the fact is I did not placed two orders, just the first one where I was advised it did not get processed; all they offered me is a $10 discount on my next order-abandon Gilt not, worth it.

Don't use this website, return even if it's not your fault is handled by amateur customer service

After various emails, a manager did fix the issue with the late shipment / wrong item. My credit card was credited the full amount and $50,00 credit was put into my GILT account. I no longer need to return the item. I do love the products offered on GILT, but am sorry to see the decline in what was attentive and excellent customer service.

GILT went from a great company to a shady one that can be difficult to deal with. I ordered a $600 hanging lamp and was not shipped during the designated time period. When I contact gilt to cancel the order, it was shipped out the next day. This was despite the fact that I had explained that I was no longer at the shipping address. By this time I had to forward the box once it arrived to my new address which is overseas. Unfortunately, rather than shipping out the hanging light I'd order, the product that shipped was a cheap clock, that was broken. By this time I'd already paid my credit card bill. I sent various photos of the product, in the box, with the shipping label as asked by GILT customer service. Rather than refund my purchase, GILT asked me to first return the box with the bogus product. So all of the risk of the box making it back to GILT and going through GILT return process is on me. Plus I need to wait for a refund. This would have never happened with the old GILT before it was sold to Saks.

I stopped shopping at Gilt.com because of the exchange rate.
They have good deals but when I consider exchange rate, shipping, tax and duties etc, then it ends up being pretty much the same as retail price in Canada. Zulily made Canadian site. Why Gilt isn't making one?

Very nice, I am fully satisfied. Best quality products, although price is little bit high, but overall, all nice. At such price, the quality is outstanding and I loved them.

They hav a good deal for designer stuff which is amazing. I also got a cool pair of Prism sunglasses from them before. Always wanna buy from them again but since you cant return anything to them, that has stopped me from buying dresses and shoes.
Also for the size guide, it is very vague, esp for designer dresses and shoes, they need to be more specific. For example, house of harlow shoes tend to be bigger, they did not say that in the page, yet I found other websites stating that out clearly.

Thank you so much for your service. I'm sorry that you all had to suffer in the eclectic ways that you have, but you should know that your reviews have gone to a good cause. I almost purchased a pair of shoes off of the gilt website today, but decided to do some cursory research on gilt as I had never ordered from there before. I was shocked and disgusted to read the reviews of the gilt.com website, and due to these reviews I will not be ordering shoes, or anything else for that matter, from gilt.com. Soon enough, the incremental contributions that you all have made will result in the end of this horrible site. I will instead pay double the price to order the same shoes from Zappos, as that is how much I value my time and piece of mind. Again, thank you to you all. Your service is very much appreciated.

Nice prices are no more... and the retail product lines have changed and/or dwindled.

I think the price jumps happened about the same time that the return policy was expanded.

I sent the following comment to GILT and am awating a response: I have an issue with the return policy on reduced items. Regardless of whether the item is at its lowest price, the consumer still has no way to determine whether or not it is going to fit. It would be a favorable policy for GILT if they offered a return on all items. I

Just be aware that for most returns you'll only get store credit which can be risky if the item you ordered arrives and isn't up to your expectations and they don't have anything else you want. The cashmere sweater I bought from them didn't seem like much of a bargain in terms of the quality of material and fit compared to nearly identical items I have bought elsewhere for less at places like UNIQLO and Filene's Basement, but of course you can't always count on getting quality cashmere at a discount, it's hit or miss.

UPDATE: A customer support specialist reached out to me about returning the bag after SiteJabber review and I was able to get site credit for the purchase. Not quite the same as having my money back, but better than being stuck with a factory bag I didn't mean to purchase.

Gilt sold me a factory labeled Celine bag when the pictures clearly showed the same bag without the factory label in the exact same place on the bag. They showed a picture of the item being sold that was different from what I received. When I asked for a return they refused to give me one. This is definitely misrepresentation of what is being sold and shady. If the page labeled that the bag was factory it makes more sense, but I looked over the page and sent them a screenshot, nowhere on the page did it mention it, and the pictures showed bags without the factory label.

I love ordering from them, but I think their shipping policy is a bit evasive: free shipping and returns only mean, in lieu of exchanging your item for something else, not refunding it. If you are aware of this, then it's a great place for buying clothes and luxury items.

Unfortunately, my first gilt order did not turn out as I had hoped. I was shipped an item that was similar to the item I purchased, but not the same. I received a mysterious phone call from GILT the day after I made the purchase. Only thing that I can figure is that they were calling to see if they could substitute the item. Anyway, they said that they would offer me a $30 gilt credit or facilitate a return, so at least they are trying to fix the issue. Plus, I do not believe that the item is a knock off.

You can get some good deals here but it's hard to get your size sometimes and the returns and shipping aren't the best. But when you do get a good deal its great.

Very disappointing customer service and return policy experience.
I bought my husband a Frederique Constant watch and it was malfunctioning upon receiving it. The needles stopped moving periodically - what use is a watch if it cant tell you the time? The back plate also kept falling off... I brought it to a high end jeweler who told me the battery was empty (in the first few weeks?) and that the watch parts were dirty because the back hadn't been secured properly which was causing the dust to enter and the watch to not work properly.

Within 5 months it was useless and one of the time needles FELL OFF and was floating around on the face of the watch!
Gilt wouldn't let me return it. I'm going to keep trying though.
I wont be purchasing another watch from this site.

I had ordered several items. Most were Gilt brands, which Gilt describes as "exclusively on Gilt. It was created in collaboration with our preferred brand partners to bring you great style at an accessible price point."

PRICES HIGH, GIVEN THE LOW QUALITY
Even though I hadn't ordered clothing from Gilt before, I associated them with high quality at great prices. So I was shocked when I received the items and saw how cheaply made they were.

MISLEADING RETURN POLICY
Some Gilt items were not returnable, others were not. Gilt clearly states when items are not returnable by stating this on the item's description page. I'm always very, very cautious about ordering non-returnable items, particularly when it comes to clothing, because of the risk that the items don't fit.

I was on the fence about 2 items, but bought them because I knew were returnable. However, one didn't fit and the other was super cheaply made, and when I went online to begin a return, there was a message next to each of those items on my order form that said "This item has been further reduced from its original Gilt price. It is final sale and non-returnable." I wish I had taken a screenshot of the item's description page, because I these items were changed to "non-returnable" status *after* I had purchased them.

ALSO, note that there's a $9.50 restocking fee. It's listed on their website, but you have to hunt for that info. I didn't see it mentioned on the order form *prior* to my ordering, which I think is a bit deceptive. It was my responsibility to double-check that prior to ordering, but I don't know of any other large merchant that charges a restocking fee nowadays -- in fact, quite a few large companies offer **free shipping on returns**, particularly if you make a sizeable purchase.

GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE
I must say that I had a great customer experience, though. When I explained my situation via an online chat with a customer service rep, he did allow me to return the items at a Saks Off 5th store for credit to be used at Saks Off 5th. Not what I was hoping for, but I thought that was fair.

Bottom line, I'm going to limit my Gilt purchases to items of brand names that I'm familiar with and are of a quality level that I trust.

I buy from this site every 2-3 months. They usually have good deals and I particularly like their deals on toys and kids clothes. Their shipping is very fast, you only have to be careful with non-returnable items as once they ship you cannot change the order anymore. Unfortunately they do not ship big items internationally so I sometimes miss out on great deals:)

Their customer service is ok, some people are great and understanding and others not so much so thats why I only give them a three for service. It really depends on who you are dealing with.

So far I never had issues with the stuff I bought, They are in impeccable condition and are exactly what I expected. If the size is wrong you send it back and if they have stock they will send another size or give store credit.

Gilt is hit or miss. I shop there regularly, mostly candles and housewares. Several orders have arrived quickly within 2 or 3 days, while other orders have taken beyond the two week delivery time frame to arrive. This unreliability has prevented me from using this site to buy/send gifts directly to recipients.

Customer service is useless. They make excuses for supposedly 'lost' packages that were never shipped. They answer questions by repeating what you already know about your order. Unhelpful and a little snide. I prefer honest & straightforward answers.

Some products arrive in perfect condition, while others arrive with scratches or crushed boxes, rendering them unsuitable to gift, but still fine for home use. A few times I'd received products that looked different than the photo on the site, but nothing extreme enough to prompt a return or exchange process (which, based on my exchanges with their cust. Service, would not be a mess I'd wish to get into). So far no glass has arrived broken.
