“Randy Carson and Band”

Sandra W.

Pipe Creek General Store and Dancehall, LLC highly recommend Randy and his band. He is a singer and songwriter. He and his band are extremely professional, they arrive early to set up and rehearse. They engaged with the audience and dancers. During their breaks they went around to meet-several of the attendees. Definitely recommend to any venue looking for a great band.

I have used Gig Salad twice. The first time was a pleasure. The second time I had to cancel a few days after I booked the singer due to one of the guests being in the hospital for COVID. I in no way inconvenienced the performer, but they kept the whole $405 deposit. Be careful when booking if they ask for all of the money upfront. If you need to cancel, you WILL lose all of it.

Hi Paulette, thank you for sharing your experience. Many vendors set a non-refundable deposit because they rely on the booking as their source of income and cannot risk losing money in the case of a cancellation. They've likely turned down other events to take a booking and wouldn't have time to book something new to recoup those funds. We certainly advise that our users closely read the cancellation policy set by each vendor before booking and negotiate what's best for all involved. GigSalad does not set the policy and can only enforce what is agreed upon between the client and the vendor. We hope your guest has gotten better and that you're able to host another fun party in the future!

As advertised by Gig's they do offer as they provide a Worry-Fee Guarantee, but only if all contracts are done though Gig's. In its self there is nothing wrong with that, what they do wrong is that they release your contact information to the vendors right away, before any of the bids have accepted or even reviewed by you. This opens the system up to scammers, just what happened to me. One of the vendors contacted me directly, we set a contract and he never delivered. Since this was my first time using Gig's I thought that since Gigs provided the vendors my info this was how things are done. I only found out that Gig's about the Worry-Fee Guarantee shortfall when asked them for help.

Gig's should not be releasing your personal contact info, so that vendors can contact you directly, if the whole premise of their "Worry-Free Guarantee" is based on working through the Gig service.

This could be a great service, but their policy to force the client to pay BOTH the deposit and balance up front, then refuse to give the vendor the money til days AFTER the gig is done is absurd. I never, ever play until I have received the full payment. Had GigSalad not hidden this policy, I never would have joined. As it is I do not plan to renew, and I have to tell every potential client to please NOT book through GigSalad. My other option is list the whole amount as the "deposit" so I actually receive it. Extremely dissatisfied with their customer service too.

Hi Ellie, we're sorry to hear that you're dissatisfied. You reached out to our team last year about this question but never returned our call. We don't hide anything about our process and send each new member a welcome email outlining how everything works. That being said, we do offer a feature that allows you to accept payment offsite, and then come back and mark the lead as booked by paying the service fee. We know that flexibility is important and strive to implement tools that allow you to use your own system. I don't show that you've contacted us since last year, so again, I'm sorry that you're dissatisfied with our customer service - but we're always happy to help. You can call us at 417-889-9909 or email us at help@gigsalad.com. Thanks, Ellie.

Been in the entertainment business for 40 years. Payment is due on the day, not one to two business days as you have suggested. Also thought we chose the free part to gig salad. Why is $ been taken from our quote. Please respond. Thank you.

Hi Terry, thanks for your question! As a Free member with us, you're not paying a membership fee to get leads and bookings with us. So yes, we do have a 5% booking fee on each booked gig. We feel this is a fair fee and hope you do, too! If you prefer to get paid the day of the gig, you can take advantage of our "Marked as Booked" feature and handle the payment yourself. Please call us at 417-889-9909 or email us at help@gigsalad.com if you'd like more information on how that works. Thank you!

I paid for a month of Gig Salad. It said that you could have multiple categories yet there are only a couple of categories available for photographers. During the month, I received absolutely no events to bid on. You can list on Gig Salad for free, but you are only allowed one category. Over the year or two I have been listed, I have only received about a half dozen events to bid on. Ironically, I did engage one event as a free member which I appreciate, but I won't pay $30 a month (plus any booking fees) for no events to bid on.

Gig Salad does not work for photographers.

Hi Gregg, thank you for your feedback. We're glad you were able to book a gig using the Free membership and we understand that the paid version doesn't always make fiscal sense for some. We're always striving to bring more leads for each of our categories and help photographers like yourself make a living doing what you love. Thank you again for taking the time to share your experience and feel free to reach out directly if we can answer any questions.
