I started ordering from Freshly recently. I had one order so far and the meals are high in calories for the most part. I am a diabetic so I don't think it will work for me. I called and spoke to a person named Mel and he tried to tell me how to choose my meals that might work better for me. I have one more order coming then I believe i will have to cancel. They don't cater for special diets!.

“Impossible to cancel - they keep reactivating and charging”

We were given a gift voucher on Freshly, which we used up. Cost is too high to keep going, so we cancelled. When you cancel on their website, they instantly e-mail that your subscription is re-activated. I e-mailed their customer service (Alexander) and asked for a cancellation which he confirmed. But no - it's auto-reactivated and the next customer service rep (Will) can't do a thing about it. This time I blocked them in Paypal. Freshly is a fraud. The chef isn't crying in their apron about the cancellation. They're busy fraudulently reactivating accounts.

The meals all looked alike by the time they got to my house. Everything was all mixed together. (Maybe you could purchase containers with dividers and vacuum seal the plastic tight to keep the food from shifting around) They did not even taste good. I could not tell what I was eating. I ordered 4 meals. The first one which I don't know what it was but it was nasty. I tried to eat another one but could not even get a bite in my mouth without feeling nauseated just looking at it, so that one was thrown away. The last two I gave to my son and daughter in law and they could not even taste them, they were so nasty looking.

Our first — and only after this —- order never arrived. "Customer service" basically said "oops that never happens usually" but couldn't give us any help other than next week being free. UHHH... NO THANKS! Overpriced company that cannot do its basic job: deliver food when it says it will. AVOID

I'm really trying to eat healthier and cut out the junk food, so I ordered Freshly to help me with my self-control. I wasn't looking for meals that tasted as good as the junk food (what realistically would live up to those standards), but simply food to get me through the day. Maybe it's my chef, but my meals were atrocious. I had read reviews claiming that the food was bland and tasteless but that didn't really bother me since I was trying to control my meal portions as well. The true crux of the problem though wasn't that I couldn't taste what I was eating, it WAS THE TASTE that was abysmal. This is coming from a person who eats oatmeal 3 to 4 times a week with nothing else added to it. No Cinnamon, Fruit, sugar, nutmeg... NOTHING. Perhaps its the way they freeze the food or, again, my chef was doing something to their recipes or I have Super taste buds since this is the third meal delivery company I've tried. But whatever the culprit, I felt compelled to share my story. I've obviously cancelled and I'm going to try meal kit delivery services where i cook the food myself.

The food is very bland and lacks flavor. Also very high in sodium. We tried it as a gift for an elderly person and within 2 days of delivery and before he could try the food they charged my account for another order which we didn't want. The manager said too bad so sad you can't cancel. I will never order from them again and I will tell everyone I know. Hope it was worth it freshly. Shame on you!

I chatted with Precious who immediately helped with a refund and cancellation of service. This was my first order so bummed I couldn't check them out but can't do business with a company that can't even follow through on their first order. May need to revisit the delivery company and enforce where they place the packages.

I purchased a sizeable gift card from Freshly for my mom, who in July 2022 was home convalescing after a long stay in the hospital. When she went online to sign up for freshly meal delivery, she was forced to provide her own credit card number despite having a gift card, which she was told was required for "registration purposes." After placing her first order, she learned that freshly charged her credit card for the meals delivered and did not use the funds on the gift card. When she called to complain, she was advised that she did not place the order properly. Freshly also refused to refund her card and use the funds on the gift card. Needless to say my mom cancelled her account and we are donating the gift card I sent her to a food bank, to the extent that it can be used. It's a racket, the CS reps are useless and a total waste of $. Would never recommend.

As stated on our site and FAQ, our gift cards are purchased for a specific meal plan and a subscription must be created to use the gift card code. Please stop sending me food and billing me I no longer want your product I have tried to un subscribe Multiple times including having to pay $37 to stop being built which is ridiculous. Overpriced I am not enjoying the food and do not want my account deducted any longer stop my subscription please

Do not sign up without triple checking what delivery dates are available in your area. The purpose for me was to help me through the work week, which I assume is true for most people and the main point of the service. So I needed early in the week, but I could only get Thursday deliveries. I signed up for that initially hoping I could change future weeks, but no. The best I could get was Wednesday or Saturday, and even those days only several weeks away. Even the Thursday delivery didn't arrive till after dinnertime. Customer service showed no interest in being more flexible.

Unfortunately, Freshly failed to meet my expectations for interesting, flavorful meals. The "turkey white bean chili" was... not that. Instead of a hearty chili, I got about a quarter cup of beige soup. This slurry, falsely advertised as a meal for a grown human, DID include white beans, but any turkey was so thoroughly macerated as to be non-evident. The so-called "Cuban bowl" was so bland, it was basically indistinguishable from a frozen Power Bowl from Healthy Choice. Another entree featured peas and carrots as a side dish. Peas and carrots? That's what they had in the old TV dinners my mom used to feed us... who thinks this is an interesting side in 2020? I'm actually surprised that people are willing to pay $10 a meal for recipes as uninspired as these. But, good luck to you, I guess I'm not your target customer.

I'm not sure what everybody else is eating. But yuck! Do not recommend. Someone else said it taste worst than the freezer food at the market and I definitely agree. No no no

I got one week of meals? Did I say meals, I have seen better food at soup kitchens. They show you a nice picture of the meal but when you get it, it has no eye appeal does not look at all like what was shown. Every thing is pilled on top of each other. You have to do your own seasoning because it is tasteless.

If you order you are signing up for weekly shipments.

Absolutely terrible. Do not order from this place. After you choose your meals they change them on you and give you the same exact same meal as substitutes because they are overstocked and push the product onto their customers. After constantly asking them to fix the problem they refuse and after canceling the membership they still try to charge you!

Crooked Company if I could give them 0 stars I would.

AxleHire delivery will lose your packages making the 2 good parts of this business drop down to 1 out 5 stars. Out of 3 weeks, I recieved 1 box and have 2 missing boxes... find a better partnering delivery service or continue to lose customers. I will be canceling my membership and go to a competitive business that can DELIVER their goods.

They lied to me on the plan and that it provides macros and calories count on each meal, and turned out it doenst after I have paid. They also don't return deposits for the bag. Horrendous business.

Pretty horrible experience right off the bat. The first delivery was two days late and no longer fresh. The second week they just canceled my delivery because they don't have the ability to deliver that week? I was made aware of neither of these developments. I got texts letting me know my order was supposed to ship, but none notifying me that it would be late or that next week had been canceled. I went into the app, but there were no notifications about the problems there either. It just led me to a broken link if I tried to track my delivery, but it still said it was on time. Finally wrote to customer support and that's when I found out about all the issues with the orders. Hopefully I can find someplace more consistent and communicative.

Actually Zero. Ordered and paid last week through PayPal. Waited all day for my food to be delivered, as scheduled. I am starving at 7pm, call and they tell me they are having problems and there will be NO deliveries until next week. So yeah, if I hadn't called, I'd still be starving at midnight. No notification at all, NOTHING, NADA, ZIP, ZILCH. Do I get my money back, apparently not. Do I get an apology, No. I get a really rude guy, who could care less--just we are having problems. Did not even look up my account. I am supposed to get food next week, will I still be starving then? Stay tuned.

I figured i would try out some of the meals so i ordered a whole bunch little did i know that i was automatically going to be getting the same meals a week later. It did not say anything about that! Had i know i would have cancelled or at the very least changed some of the meals that were horrible.

I was so excited to try Freshly. The convenience and all the ads I saw for it drew me in. I tried three of the meals and had to throw them away because the taste was so bad. Very bland/ tasteless. I also missed the deadline and will get the same meals repeated next week. And when I tried to chat with someone they said it was too late to change my meals. ( 5 days before shipment). I know that was on me, I just got really busy and missed the email reminder. But I'm literally going to throw the meals away when they come. So disappointed because I was very excited to start on this new meal plan. I don't even want to try the other meals I have. Hopefully other people have better luck!

This is some of the most disgusting food I've ever tasted. It's like airplane food, only worse. The portions are tiny and the meals look and taste nothing like the pictures. My whole family hates it.

Hi Molly, I'm terribly sorry if you found our meals less than ideal. It is always our goal to provide delicious/quality meals and I'm very disappointed this has not been the case for you. Our meals contain a blend of spices and a mineral-dense sea salt that helps flavor and season the meal with an average portion size of 13.6 ounces depending on the meals, but we totally understand that flavor and tastefulness will depend on the customer's preferrence. The meals sent to the photographers for marketing and advertisement are the same as those sent to our customers. They just take extra steps to plate the meals for staging and presentation. While we aim to provide nutritious and appetizing meals but they are unavoidably shaken up a bit during shipping. I apologize for this one.

All in all, every bit of information we receive in any regard - no matter how large or small; good or bad - is an opportunity for us to gain the knowledge of what our customers are looking for from us. So, we'll be sure to share all your feedback with our team as we never stop improving our meals and diligently searching for ways to improve.

Freshly is not refunding money for not ordered delivery. Never signed up for subscription, but rep is refusing to give money back. CC disputed has started.

I tried 3 meals and couldn't get through 1. They taste over processed and after heating the stuff gets all messy and sloppy. The peppercorn steak looks nothing at all like the photos. The chicken has an orange slime on it which is the same in every dish. I tried to get a refund and they only gave me half back which makes me feel pretty badly. No better than a supermarket meal at a third of the price.

Horrible company. I'm not one to complain, but how would you all know that. But I'm not. I was purchasing meals for my 92 year old mother. It just didn't work out for her. The meals were decent. I got an email from Freshly to download their app. So I did. Unbeknownst to me, because of me downloading their app, my next order was doubled. So I had (have) a credit of $78.00. I have since cancelled my subscription, because like I said, it just didn't work out with my 92 year old mother. I have been arguing for weeks to receive a credit. Freshly simply will not. A reputable company? I'm furious. They have no problem deducting $$$ from my credit card - how hard is it to put it back in? This is truly absurd that this so-called reputable company will not reimburse me - whether it was my mistake or not. Do NOT do business with them. There are many other places to buy your food. Watch your back.

Tip for consumers:
Whether it was my fault or not that we had a double order, this so-called reputable company should issue me a refund. They simply won't. So now I'm out about $75.00. The way I found out I had a double order was they sent me an email. I cancelled the second order, but not before they charged me for it. Now they won't refund me. Bad, bad, bad business. Do NOT every buy from Freshly. Watch your back.

Twice in a month they have missed delivery. We have been a customer for over two years without incident. Now two missed deliveries. No cares when I call, typical in this climate. No pride of ownership or customer service. Sneds a suvey - complin in the survey and again no one cares or reaches out. We love the service but I'm afaid how they treat customers when there is an issue is terrible.
