“ALWAYS Very Happy With FreeShipping!”

I was a user of FreeShipping.com. I was a member for over 8 years at $13/mo. I LOVED using their site. Every month I received a check and only once was it less than $13. Most of the time, I received $30-80/month. It is so easy to get 10% back when you make a purchase. It automatically happens when you go to the store through their site. IF you have to pay shipping, then you fill out an online form and send their rebate dept. the info. It takes less than 5 min and I hate paying shipping, so was always well worth it. The only reason I am no longer a member as of 2 months ago is because I have cut back on my online buying, and since they raised their monthly price to $20 now, I would need to purchase at least $200/mo online to break even. I probably do that much of the time, but may not in the future. They don't have all of the online only sites, but do have many and just about all of the brick and mortar stores as well. There is no contract, so I say join and try it out. If you don't at least break even after a couple of months, then discontinue.

Freeshipping.com is a scam. I give the worst review for FreeShipping.com due to their unethical conduct and terrible services. They failed to honor a 10% cash back as posted on their website ads and canceled my new membership (only opened for 3 days) after asking for 10% cash back on a full-price order. The customer representatives were rude and lacked knowledge about the products and services they offered. Stay away, do not sign up for Freeshipping.com membership.

Verified purchase

I've gotten hundreds of dollars back from using FreeShipping.com. As another review says, you use their website as a portal to go to other websites and shop. Then you take a screen shot of your order summary and you can get free shipping from some merchants and for some merchants you van even get 10% cash back. At a specific time of every month, you'll receive a payout. And yes there is a monthly fee. So why do so many people feel this is a scam? Well probably because people are too stupid these days to pay attention when they're doing things online. Freeshipping offers a trial of their service, and a lot of websites partnered with Freeshipping.com so that when you buy something, they offer you 10% off your purchase. A lot of these idiots giving freeshipping.com.bad reviews opted into that 10% off because they thought "OoooOooOo free money!" And then they forgot that they signed up and now it's FreeShipping.com's fault? No, you're an idiot. You signed up. It's not a scam. Some of these people are so oblivious to the things they do, some day they'll look down at their own kid and think someone broke into their house. FreeShipping.com is a great program. The only thing, and I mean only thing that I've found that I don't like is there's no easy way to change the billing card you used. You have to contact the customer support first. Other than that, it's a good program.

Tip for consumers:
It's not a scam. Most people forgot they signed up when they were offered 10% off a regular purchase. They decided it was a scam because there's no way they'd believe it was their own fault. There's a monthly fee. If you do a lot of online shopping, the program will pay for itself.

This morning Iog into my account and I see freeshipping in a list of payment. I make a search in my list payment I see it's not the first time they take money in my account. The only thing I can say is, I never did business with that network. American banks have to stop this robbery.

This is a legit and pretty efficient outfit. I've been a satisfied member for 6 months. They have an amazing variety of participating merchants, which is a lifesaver during COVID-19. I've learned always to check their website first, before placing an order. You do have to read their terms carefully about their procedures and dollar limits, which I didn't do at first. Sometimes I have to follow up on a missing rebate, but they are legitimate mistakes.

Somehow they started billing me for charges and got information from a Kohl's order. Finally got it off my credit card and refund but still is pending for old charges that I didn't notice on my card. I still don't know what benefits you would ever get. Just got new credit card statement and they charged me again after getting confirmation they would close account. BIG SCAM.

Hi there,

We're sorry to hear about the confusion about our site. Kohl's is one of the partners we work with. If you made a purchase from Kohl's, you likely signed up with us after accepting the offer to try FreeShipping.com free for 7 days. When signing up for a membership with us, all users opt to provide their credit card information. Directly above where credit card details are entered, it is stated to users that if they do not cancel their account within the 7-day trial period, they will be subject to our monthly membership fee if they would like to continue their access to our benefits. Our members get 10% cash back, free shipping, free return shipping, price protection, price comparison and all the latest coupons at over 1,000 online retailers.

If you have any questions regarding our service, please feel free to contact help@freeshipping.com or call our customer service line. Thank you!

Sincerely,

The FreeShipping.com Team

Freeshipping.com works exactly as advertised. If (and that's a big IF) you understand the monthly fee structure and read the terms then you will know what you are signing up for and it is unlikely that their service leaves you unsatisfied. They are responsive, and run a trustworthy business which is worth it for those who do online shopping a few times at month and are willing to spend a few minutes to find the best deal (which is not always the Amazon.com even if you have free prime shipping).
That being said, they don't do a good job in helping you understand the monthly fee, and terms of service. The pop-up that they use to acquire customers at several third party websites, should show in large fonts and in several steps that this is a monthly service for which the customer will be charges $12.97 unless they cancel within trial period. And for the first time users they should let them submit the documents for shipping rebate up to several months after purchase, because many customers don't know how Freeshipping works and it may take time for them to find out they need to pay for the shipping at the time of purchase but can submit documents after the purchase to get a shipping rebate.

My wife and I *love* freeshipping.com. It gives us the freedom to buy stuff from many retailers and have $10 of shipping and return shipping charges refunded. Also works great for covering one day shipping charges from Amazon!

The 10% discount is cool, but the real savings come when they run 20% discount on retailers.

Have had occasional issues with rebates and a few emails usually clears things up without a phone call.

Really wanted to give them 3 1/2 stars, but mainly because of the complications involved.

You have to pay attention and understand their rules. If you do, you can make up to $1000 in cash back on purchases. However, you must realize you sign up to be billed $12.97/month. You don't get paid for at least a month after your purchase. You have to read the small print (like what they won't give you cash back for and that $1000 cash back is all you get in one year).

I did really well this year. I hit the limit and didn't earn any cash back to speak of for December (even though I spent quite a bit of money). I hadn't read the small print. I have to wait to use FreeShipping again until the end of this month.

But they did save me $1000 for the year. Plus some $40 in shipping charges. That was pretty amazing. My net earnings for 2019 (after deducting the FreeShipping.com fees) were $880.

You have to buy a lot of stuff on line to make money, since you are paying them $156 a year to use their services. Considering other cash back sites which usually pay around 2-4%, I think this is a fairly good return value.

You have to pay attention to what they tell you about each retailer you click through on their site. Once you select the retailer, you have to click on the "This retailer has cash back restrictions" and make sure what you are purchasing and how you are paying is allowed to earn cash back. For example, Macy's says: "Cash back is not available on the purchase or redemption of gift cards, Wedding Channel purchases, Apple products, mattresses or furniture." So if you buy an Apple product, or if you use a gift card to pay for your items, you won't get any cash back. Also most of the time you can't use external coupons and get cash back. However, in my experience if the vendor has some discount for the day listed on their website, that usually works. Each vendor is different, so you have to read that small print for each one of them.

Also, you need to read the small print for the website itself. At the bottom, on the home page, make sure you've read "How it Works" plus "Terms of Use" and "Terms of Service."

Make sure when you click through from the FreeShipping.com site that you don't go off on a tangent in your browser until you have completed the purchase. Try to do the purchase quickly. Also, some sites require you actually select the items you are purchasing right after you click through (though a lot of them let you set up the purchase ahead of time and then go to Freeshipping.com and then click through). Usually it's on the FreeShipping.com site though.

If you don't get an email from FreeShipping telling you you earned cash back (a lot of times it takes a day or so); if you've waited 7 days and you don't see it listed in your account under "Savings Center" then email them. Go to "Help" and click on "Where is My Cashback?".

They usually will answer in 24 hrs. I've always been fairly satisfied with their customer service. You can also call, but I find the email is clearer. They ask you to choose your click thru vendor date and time, and order number and total.

This service is not for the occasional shopper who wants cash back for a few items a month, since technically you pay them first. You do have to do some work, and be somewhat organized to be bothered with this.

If you are willing to spend the time and effort to use this service, you can make some money if you shop enough.

I am surprised to see so many negative comments and felt compelled to share my experience with FreeShipping with you. I ordered a rice cooker on Walmart.com and received FreeShipping's promotion of $10 rebate. I followed their instructions and received the $10 in the form of a check in my mailbox. I called to end the trial period. People, if you want to save money, calm down, read the fine print out there, and follow the rules. Nobody can take your money away from you if you are mindful and respectful of the game rules.

I signed up like many people for free shipping or a rebate, not realizing that they would charge a membership fee after my "trial" ended. I supposed if I had read the fine print, then I would've know about the membership. Anyways, I noticed the charge on my bank statement and immediately went to the site to figure out what was going on. After a little researching I realized how the services offered actually work, so I figured I would go ahead and give it a try. I received several checks in the mail and rebates from purchases made online through the website. I did however cancel my services after about 6 months or so. I only cancelled because I was not making enough online purchases for the membership to be worth it.

At first I thought this was a hoax or a scam but I gave it try. I decided to stick with it for a couple of months and if I got nothing fine. But then then first $10 check rolled in cool. Then $23, then $16, then $25, then a whopping $485 (thanks to buying a couple of big ticket items during a 20% bonus offer).

I like it so much I got my wife into it and we love the fact we can reimburse $10 for shipping and $10 for return shipping plus any cash back rewards.

I knocked off one star but every once in a while tracking fails. It doesn't happen often but it does happen. You also have to keep track that they reimburse you for all submitted claims (they do process about 95-99% of what I send in though). Customer service via phone isn't the greatest but that's ok. I can usually get what I need taken care of over email.

Overall have been with them 2 years and I get most my cash back during their 20% cashback promo's they have during the year. I usually spend about $120 in monthly fees but I max out their cash back (I think it's $1000) yearly (not including all the shipping rebates) so I think it's a fair deal.

I did the 10 day free trial a couple of months ago, and found it to be a pretty decent site. I haven't joined yet, but am going go to join soon. I found it pretty easy to email my invoices showing the shipping fees to them... I've been reading a lot of reviews here that claim ppl didn't know there was a monthly fee. They do state it very clearly on the site that there is a monthly fee... I also had called them twice with questions, and they were so nice and professional... I think the bottom line is if you do a lot of online shopping, like I do, then this is a good site to join. Just my opinion. Thx!

I signed up for this right before Christmas. I missed out on the $10 rebate (which is what first got my attention, and how I ended up joining) because I didn't realize that you have to send them your receipt (no longer have it) and have to do it within 7 days. But, for everything else, it has been going well. It's actually a bit of work, because you have to fill out an online form and send them an email with each receipt in order to get the 10% and the free shipping back, but I have started getting checks back, and so far, I am ahead of the game with my rebates versus the monthly fee.

I think most people are complaining because they forgot to cancel before the trial ends. I did the free trial and here's what I got: $9.97 refund check for my first shipping purchase. A $10 Walmart giftcard as promised (for joining). And another small rebate check for $1.47. The only downside is it took nearly two months to see everything in the mail. It is a legitimate sight, you just have to justify if you spend this much on shipping to offset the monthly fee. Hope this helps!

From the reviews I see here it sounds like a lot of people didn't realize what they were signing up for - the company needs to do a better job of ensuring people actually intend to purchase the product and know how to use what they have. I've had a membership for a LONG time (like maybe 10 years if I remember correctly) and I've received more in rebates than I paid in membership fees every year. (I pay annually, about $100, and usually get at least $300 back.) It works for me because I do a lot of shopping online, regularly shop at several stores that participate, am in the habit of clicking through the freeshipping.com site to shop, and have time to fool with the claims process.

Paid the trial membership, made one purchase and the very next day they decided to cancel my membership for no reason. Guess my first purchase was to high for their 10% cash back. Funny thing is they send me an email to sign in to claim my $60 rebate, but they deactivated my account, so can't even sign in. A bunch of BS, just wasted my time.

Have to give Freeshipping's support team credit. They reached out to me and reinstated my membership. They just noted there was some confusion on their end. Looking forward to continuing my business with them.

I can't believe all of the bad reviews. I signed up when I bought from Proflowers.com. I canceled my account before the 30 day trial period was up. 3 weeks after that they sent a shipping check refund as promised. You must read the fine print and do everything they ask. Then it's no problem. Actually looking through the Freeshipping site, they have a lot of good shipping deals, but I don't buy on the internet enough to justify.

How tl stop the monthly charges

So I actually came to this site before I signed up for the offer.

I onestly thought it was a scam, but ~30-40 days later, my check for 20.95 (2 offers) came back! Boy am I surprised!

I was given a 1-month trial of it and it said I would be charged afterwards if I continued the service.

Here's what I did.

I used one of those visa gift cards worth just $25, and I signed up with that as my payment card, and I believe it was never charged.

After about day 25, I thought the check wasn't coming, so I unsubscribed thinking no harm done.

Well I surely benefited from trying! I might sign up again if I ever am buying large amounts of things on the internet in which they support your rebates!

Definitely worth a try!

JUST REMEMBER: Unsubscribe before a month so you aren't charged!

FYI: This is NOT intended for anyone who signed up through the Amora offer. I don't know the details on that, but after some searching, it looks like that deal is over, which says a lot about it.
I hope that most of this will help those who haven't signed up yet & those who blindly signed up (again, not the Amora people). Blindly, I'm sorry, that is harsh, but c'mon, it's true. "pestered, pushed, etc." into signing up? It's a pop-up, people. You are signing up on your own free will, for goodness sake. I'll admit, I've done it in the past with something else, & learned the hard way, but lay the fault at my own feet, unless things were literally hidden & unavailable. That isn't the case here at all.
The main thing I see people upset about is the: $12.97/month fee. Being "stolen from? Scammed?" Its right upfront! You can not sign up without having your eyes pass over it, in normal font size, with the heading in Bold, as you're filling out the information.
Either way, why is anyone giving their credit card information, especially to a company they know nothing about, without reading all the terms? Its a hard pill to swallow, but take responsibility. After learning my lesson with things like this, I wait (its so tempting to jump right in!) until Im sure Ill make at least $25/month to make the monthly fee worth it & until I know I'll have the time to be on top of every possible way to earn money, because unlike most similar sites, it offers way more than just click-throughs.
The other reason Ive seen is that they must wait up to 60 days after a purchase to get a check. This is the same with Ebates & other similar sites Why? Most stores will not pay fs, Ebates, etc. until its been 60-90 days & you havent returned the item. Thats understandable.
As for the fee itself, it can be seen in a number of ways. Since I've had the fortune & misfortune of owning my own business in the past, I see it as this: 1) They are a business. 2) Overall, if you shop a lot on line, they pay out a LOT more than the other sites like Ebates. Ebates is for average online shoppers. I was on it for 7 years, still use them some, explanation coming, and with all my tons of shopping, I never got anywhere near the $1000+/year! Complaining they have a cap of $1000? And, when it is in their terms of Service? I didn't even make $1000 after 7 years with Ebates!
How do they give people so much in return if they aren't making any money? Yes, fs gets paid by the stores for every person who shops through them. But, if people don't shop, they get nothing. Plus, unlike other similar sites, you always get 10% back. NOTE: spending refers to the specific shops that are affiliated with fs, not all of your online spending. Spending up to $130/month? (your net, $13 fee - $13, net earned = $0), this definitely isnt for you. Spending $300/mth? (Earn $30, Net $17@ fs. As opposed to earning approx $6-$15 from the average 2-5% back paid by other sites), this might be for you. Spending $400 or more? $27+ net? You tell me.
For me, personally, I see the $12.97 an incentive to keep me focused & on track. But even more, $12.97 is MUCH Less than the gas I would spend driving to all these stores! I removed 1 star because I do have to spend more time than I think I should, making sure I get everything I can from every order. I know they could set up the system to make things more streamlined. Although, it is Work, a job that I'm getting paid for! How can anyone complain? As with most income, you must earn it. And most jobs would cost you more than $12.97/mth in gas & uniforms, etc.
I use Ebates, as well as a couple of other sites, by quickly comparing against fs 10% and what their extensions show me when they pop up at check-out (see more on that below). And, if you shop on line a lot, getting paid for doing so, it's worth every minute! I'm disabled, can't drive or walk much, so I do all my shopping, other than perishables, for myself & family, on line: at least 3 orders/week off season. Christmas, at least double. No, Im not rich by any means. Just think about how often you stop by the grocery store, pharmacy, Big box store, etc. every week. I just do that on line. And Im sure, like me, many of you spend more than $400/mth on these things.
If less than $400/mth isnt going to change soon, go check out Ebates /RetailMeNot/Piggy/Honey (for Ebates, go through one of the many referral links on here from other reviewers. I'm not going to compete, LOL. I dont see these, so here are links for Piggy- https://www.joinpiggy.com/r/111 (I get a referral bonus, you'll probably earn more than on Ebates, usually offering 1-3% more) & Honey@ joinhoney.com/ref/lm5sac. With Honey, you dont get much for your shopping, but using the extension on Amazon will save you a ton of money (I average $0.50 - $6.00 per item): it automatically shows you who has the lowest price for any given product. Awesome! What a time saver & assurance that you are getting the best deal! Again, if you want to get the most out of these, use them all. With the extensions for each one, you'll know immediately who you'll get the most money on any shopping trip.
I've used all of those for a long time & they fit best for low-medium online shoppers. Or, for those who simply dont like the idea of paying a monthly fee, no matter how much you make.
I really do hope this helped at least a few people. Writing this took me a while & it wasn't just because I hope I'll get at least 1 referral, LOL, which really was an afterthought near the end. If you see I'm just another person on here trying to save/make as much as I can (disability checks are a joke!), please use those referral links. Good Luck & Happy Shopping!
Sample of the term of SERVICE: The Most Important thing to read, probably 3 times over like I did, which is on the same page where you enter your credit card, so that you have all the info before signing up. There are a LOT of reasons you might not get money back. Such as, and these are JUST A FEW, NOT ALL:
Reasons why a participating retailer may not report a purchase to us, including but not limited to the following actions on your part:
O You go directly to the retailers website without using FreeShipping.com links.
O You complete multiple transactions without returning to our website.
O You contact a participating store to change, cancel, or return an order.
O You fail to abide by the restrictions imposed by a participating retailer. To view a specific retailers restrictions, please click the cash-back restrictions link on that retailers FreeShipping.com page, or click the Cash Back Restrictions footer link on the member website.
>This one is huge. Almost a deal-breaker, until I found enough shopping sites I use that rarely/never have coupons anyway. There are coupons, but only through the guidelines, some of which are here:
You use an external coupon that was not found on a participating retailer's FreeShipping.com page at the time of your transaction. To ensure that your purchase will be eligible for cash back, only use the coupon offers found on a participating retailer's FreeShipping.com page.
Any of these actions, will NOT be eligible for cash back. These are NOT ALL the reasons:
Orders that are returned will not be eligible for cash back.
Any order that is deemed a high-volume/reseller order, in FreeShipping. Coms sole discretion, FreeShipping. Com membership benefits are only available to personal, non-commercial purchasers.
Purchases of gift cards and/or e-gift cards.
If any item in your order is purchased with a gift card, store credit or store "cash", that purchase, in its entirety.
Purchases that contain items "shipped to store. Your purchase must be shipped to a residential, non-retail location.

I am surprised by so many bad reviews while I have had one or two problems I just totaled my rebates since I rejoined this site 10 months ago and after deducting the $12.97 a month charge I have made back $202.27 cents and have four more rebates to come. When I joined the first time you had to mail in all your rebates and often I would forget or not be able to keep track so while I did at least break even it was too much work but now that you can submit via email I do it right away and it is working out well for me. I you only shop online occasionally it may not be a good idea but for someone like me who does almost all shopping online it is great. The only thing I don't like is that their search for included stores is not always accurate you need to go to all the sites to listed that start with a particular letter or number to see if it is listed. When you want to check it would be nice to just type in the name of the stroe you wish to purchase from but like I said sometimes it will not show up. Also you have to be prepared to wait several weeks for your rebates but it is still money in your pocket. I am curious as to where to sign up for $79 as I pay $12.97 monthly.

I have to be honest here. I only used the free trial and cancelled before the thirty days was up otherwise it costs you $79 for membership per year which is what amazon charges for their amazon prime membership. I signed up to save on shipping from a few certain retailesr on the freeshipping list. I used this service three times during the trial offer and had no issues but this was probably because I used only merchants offered on this list. The shipping charge on my orders was automatically dismissed so I didn't have to worry about waiting for a check. I recently rechecked their website and see that they are offering more merchants on their list than when I was using the free trial. It's cool to use if you order from merchants on the list that automatically take shipping off otherwise I don't think I would bother. I have noticed alot recently that many merchants are choosing to offer free shipping or reduced shipping in their promotions now and this may be the wave of the future.
