I was a user of FreeShipping.com. I was a member for over 8 years at $13/mo. I LOVED using their site. Every month I received a check and only once was it less than $13. Most of the time, I received $30-80/month. It is so easy to get 10% back when you make a purchase. It automatically happens when you go to the store through their site. IF you have to pay shipping, then you fill out an online form and send their rebate dept. the info. It takes less than 5 min and I hate paying shipping, so was always well worth it. The only reason I am no longer a member as of 2 months ago is because I have cut back on my online buying, and since they raised their monthly price to $20 now, I would need to purchase at least $200/mo online to break even. I probably do that much of the time, but may not in the future. They don't have all of the online only sites, but do have many and just about all of the brick and mortar stores as well. There is no contract, so I say join and try it out. If you don't at least break even after a couple of months, then discontinue.

Freeshipping.com is a scam. I give the worst review for FreeShipping.com due to their unethical conduct and terrible services. They failed to honor a 10% cash back as posted on their website ads and canceled my new membership (only opened for 3 days) after asking for 10% cash back on a full-price order. The customer representatives were rude and lacked knowledge about the products and services they offered. Stay away, do not sign up for Freeshipping.com membership.

I ordered something a little over a week ago and they gave me a tracking number for some random order by someone else back to December 2019, completely inaccurate. I then read how you will have to make monthly payments after purchasing from them, so after looking at reviews in this thread it said to contact *******@freeshipping.com. I emailed them 4 days ago and still no response. I emailed within my 7 days of purchase and now because no one is responding to my emails I'm 100% they're going to still charge me monthly. Complete bull$#*!

I was out of town and did a lot of shopping on my phone, so when i get back home submitted my claims, got my rebates but not my cash back. When you call, they can't help you, cause they know nothing but tell you to, go to the help button and submit a claim. I don't think a real person is there for complaints, cause i never see action. At lease EBATES, they recognize you being on their site with a purchase. Come on FREE SHIPPING, you can do better then this. At lease give a call, let me know you value your customer

I wanted to use the word Scam, but wished to be polite. I believe I tried to use this service once, through Hammacher-Schlemmer, but don't think it worked for me. So, I forgot about it... until I saw a bill for $12.97 for a month from Free Shipping.Com! This gets worse, because I had a discount for the item I purchased from H-S, so they wouldn't apply a second discount in the form of free shipping from FS.com.
The people at FS were polite on the phone and I was also polite. I will see if I get my refund from FS as promised.

I purchased car parts from partsgeek.com and i got an offer for free shipping rebate so i signed up, there was no mention of membership fees, So after 7 days they charged my CC. I canceled and contacted them the same day they charged me and they just replied that they will make a courtesy refund. I think they need to make it clear before you signup that there will be charges and the rebate is not actually in the form of money but it's like coupons to use for future purchases.

I almost signed up for the $10.00 rebate until my credit card information was requested, I then immediately went to research the site (which I normally do for anyone requesting credit card/bank information). In reading some of these reviews which is mostly negative (from what I have seen/read) this seems like an awful waste of time and aggravation just to get a rebate for a few bucks. I am not saying that this is a scam but definitely Not Worth It!

Went to get charges taken off because goddamn Valorebooks.com lured me into this website, and was only able to get back three out of the five unauthorized charges that were made onto my account. No, I never signed up for a free trial, it simply said I could get my shipping charges back from Valore and asked for my Valore order information but I never even utilized it. 'Tis shady af and I'm on a college budget so of course I'm angry they are even allowed to do this. Sure the customer service was great though so the two stars are for that chick on the phone only. P.S. Valorebooks.com just lost a customer, bye.

I read the reviews of people saying they did not get their refund after they cancelled this and was not informed from the beginning about the membership. That's me. I got an email saying mine was refunded but it wasn't. Stand by what you say of close the business.

Paying $12.97 every month is not a savings for me. I wish to cancel and have them stop getting my account billed. When I tried to log on any of their pages, they refuse to accept the log in.
If they don't cancel immediately, I will instruct my credit card company to refuse any further charges.

I call this a scam because they place their ads in a way that it appears to be part of a legit site, and they are sneaky about what they are in those ads. Notice all the 5star reviews of those who were screwed over and it took a negative review for freeshipping to step in?

I had a $12.97 fee pop up on my bank statement for 2 months. I had inadvertently approved a site for freeshipping I assume but the fee that appeared a month later was NOT DISCLOSED... which sucked... but at least when I called the number *******597 very little wait time and... the rep Nida. Game me full credit. So in a brief synopsis if your going to get screwed for NON-DISCLOSED charges at least they are fair and quick about the credit back. LOL...

The monthly membership fee of $ 12.97 only is beneficial if your monthly purchases are greater than $ 129.70 since they base the discount on your total net purchases. In many cases the discount or "free shipping" directly from a retailer (which this site does not allow special retailer coupons) saves you a lot more than using this site. It's hardly "free shipping"which the retailers themselves lure you to go to this site.

Tip for consumers:
For most consumers compute your actual savings against the membership fee to see if you are really saving any money at all.

This site is way too expensive to use. Why pay to save money? YOURE NOT SAVING WITH THIS SITE IF YOURE SPENDING A FEE EVERY MONTH TO SAVE ON SHIPPING. Doesnt make sense. Its a way for them to get money. I cancelled my membership with them within the first month so I wasnt charged. I am now just waiting for my check to arrive in the mail (12.99) that was sent out on the 27th of May. It is 2 days later and coming from CT to NH. Lets see how long it willl take!

I signed up with freeshipping.com last year. They had an ad on Ebay's web site for $10.00 if you signed up. Be very careful because they make it look like you will get 10% back when you go through their site, but many, many stores are not signed up with them; even though they have links to use as if they are a part of freeshipping.com.

Tip for consumers:
if you are using a discount coupon to make a purchase, you will loose the 10%. It also takes forever to get a response if a purchase didn't capture. If you are making purchases that you have to pay to send them back if needed; this will be beneficial. If not don't waste your money. If you do, don't say you weren't warned. Happy Sopping.

We have over 1,000 retailers on our site that qualify for 10% cash back. In this case, you will see a header that signals its cash back eligibility on that retailer's brand page. If one of our retailers does not qualify for cash back, you will see a blue banner tied to that retailer that reads, "REBATES ONLY". This means that this retailer does not qualify for cash back, but you can still claim free shipping and returns at this store.

As long as you use a coupon that is offered through our site, you will still earn the 10% cash back at that retailer. If the coupon is not available on our site and is only offered by the retailer itself, we simply cannot track your purchase data and reward you the 10% cash back you earned.

If you shop online, but are not a frequent shopper, this is not for you. This company is not upfront about it's charges. They need update their site, because it looks super sketchy and they need to post, up front, how much this service costs. Many sites depend on you not reading the Terms of Use to get you to sign up for something. While they may be an excellent service for someone who purchases a lot online, they would not be helpful the casual shopper and the monthly costs will outweigh the benefits. Their marketing practices do not reflect reputable business practices. Their reviews on this site would be a lot better if they employed transparency.

I canceled my membership online. I paid the 12.97 on 08/05/14. I saw the charge on 08/06/14 so I went online to cancel on 08/06/14. Even though I paid the fee my membership was canceled immediately. I called to find out about getting my money back since I paid but got no time to use service. I was told I should have called instead of canceling online but they would not extend my membership nor give me my money back. It does not tell you this online.
What a scam!

Since I am disabled and have to get a ride to go places, I do most of my shopping online. I therefore thought freeshipping.com might work for me. I went to the website to find the cost and it wasn't there. I didn't want to sign up for a free trial for fear of having to cancel by a certain time to not incur a monthly fee if dissatisfied. A phone number was provided so I called. He didn't know the monthly charge if I signed up that minute. When asked if it was closer to $100 or $10, he didn't know. When asked if it varied each month I was told "yes". He said to go to the website and the fee would be explained - and, of course, I was on the website. I was more confused than when I started. I never became a member and w/ these reviews and my experience I never will. But I still feel it may work for people who do tons of online shopping.

I signed up for freeshipping.com for the Pro Flowers shipping rebate on 5/5/2016. On 6/5/2016, I recieved a monthly charge of $12.97. I called their customer service (*******597) ready for battle after reading some of the other reviews. Surprisingly, the customer service rep, Katrina, was extremely helpful! She informed me that you are automatically signed up for a monthly subscription unless you cancel it during the trial period, which is apparently outlined during enrollment. She unsubscribed me and reimbursed the $12.97 since I had not used the service. The call took me less than 5 minutes.

All in all, the company is a bit shady by automatically signing people up for a service but they did rectify the problem.

I had made a purchase on Fanatics for my dad's Christmas present. I noticed about the Free Shipping offer, so I took advantage of it. I thought it was a free 7-day trial, but no. I was charged 1.97, which doesn't show anywhere in the terms or anything.

I did finally get a hold of someone in customer service, and we were able to get my card refunded. I still did receive the $10 promised on the ad, but I didn't get it until March.

Even though my situation ended up good, I still do not recommend this company. Customer Service did assist me though, so there's that.

To anyone reading this - LOOK AT ALL THE FINE PRINT BEFORE ACCEPTING THIS OFFER. KNOW THAT YOU WILL BE CHARGED $1.97 FOR THE FIRST 7 DAYS, THEN ARE CHARGED $12.97 PER MONTH AFTER IF YOU DON'T CANCEL.

I had purchased a Mother's Day gift at the very beginning of May and the gift had a $15 shipping charge that they said could be returned via freeshipping.com but to get the rebate you would have to get a membership to freeshipping. I agreed to it until I got an email back from them after I sent in the order confirmation and my freeshipping claim number and it had said that it would take 3 to 6 weeks to get my refund? What's the point of getting the rebate if you're gonna charge me $12 the next month? Anyway, I called the customer service line and asked the status of my rebate because I hadn't seen it come into my account yet and the lady was super nice while she was telling me that it just got approved today... 28 days after I sent it in. So I asked if I could cancel the membership so I wouldn't just get $3 back on that shipping charge. She immediately switched her attitude to rude and talked like she was annoyed with me. Didn't appreciate that but it doesn't make sense to pay that monthly $12 charge to just get $3 back. And when I tried to cancel my membership online, it said that it was unavailable twice.

Customers should not have to wait over 2 months to have the 10% added to the account, If 10% always updated properly and you don't have to fight to get it added this would be a great service.

I have mentioned this problem numerous times but it continues on the same, so I would not recommend this to my friends or family because most people don't want to continually have to fight for what is rightfully theirs.

As stated previously, Catherines always updates within the same day or the next day, if that does not happen there's a problem.
Tomorrow is the 7th day and you said it will be submitted to the merchant. This is so frustrating when I've submitted everything
Needed to get my 10% cash back. I always include proof of purchase with any e-mail inquiry.

Also, I have mentioned the continued problem on the website when I try to submit issues via the website and it has not been fixed.
It would be so nice when a problem is noted regarding the cash back it is automatically taken care of and weeks of wait time is not needed

If you do a lot of online shopping from a very limited amount of stores then perhaps this would be a great thing for you, however, if you did not break out the microscope before signing up then It is understandable that many call this company a scam. True is the review that states silly people signing up without reading everuthing, at the same time, I looked & looked again for any mention of a recurring fee and did not see that anywhere on the website that I signed up on or I never would have agreed to such a membership. I do not ever ever ever allow any company for any reason to automatically charge me for anything on a monthly basis. So I feel like I was pretty careful to check for that. That does not mean it is not listed somewhere but the way this deal is presented and the way they marketed is very deceitful. The company may not be a scam but the way they recruit you and dip into your credit card every month (which I'm sure many are not even aware of) is wrong. If they were more forthcoming they would probably have more happy members that are willing to agree to the terms of their membership instead of everyone complaining and feeling like they are being rubbed

I HAVE USED THIS SUBSCRIPTION FOR A COUPLE OF YEARS AND COLLECTED A GOOD AMOUNT OF CASHBACK & SHIPPING REBATES. BUT WHEN I REACHED MY CAP FOR THE YEAR I CANCELED M MEMBERSHIP AS I DIN'T WANT TO KEEP ON PAYING THE DUES IF I WASN'T GOING TO GET ANY MORE REBATES, ISN'T THAT A LOGICAL AND OBVIOUS CHOICE ANYONE WOULD MAKE? NOW WHEN A NEW YEAR BEGAN AND I WANTED TO JOIN AGAIN, I AM TOLD THAT I CAN'T DO IT BECAUSE THEIR RULES PERMIT ONLY 1 TIME MEMBERSHIP AND THAT I CAN'T CANCEL THEN COME BACK! DOES THIS MEAN THAT I HAVE TO GO ON PAYING THEM EVERY MONTH EVEN WHEN I AM NOT EARNING ANY REBATES? MAKES NO SENSE, IS THAT EVEN LEGAL? ANOTHER COMPLAIN I HAVE IS THAT MANY TIMES THEY DON'T ADD A TRANSACTION TO YOUR ACCOUNT SO YOU HAVE TO KEEP CHECKING THEN REMINDING THEM DO ADD IT. I apologize for any confusion. There is only one membership allowed per household. If you cancel your account you would just need to contact us directly so we can reinstate this for you. Also, in regards to the missing cash back. If you made a purchase that you believe should be showing in your account, if your rebate isn't showing, that means we didn't receive any of the purchase data from it. We are not withholding any of those savings from you. Once you reach out to us about missing cash back, we then report that missing purchase to the retailer.

This site was recommended from another website. I came to the site to get more information and they want you to sign up first. I don't usually like to do that because I want to know what it's about. I started filling in the information and then it asked for my credit card number. I thought that was really odd for something that did not mention a price. I stopped filling out the form and did not submit anything. Now I'm getting e-mails about forgetting to finish the process. I am going to unsubscribe.

I was looking for reviews about the company and this site popped up. It confirmed my suspicions that something was not right. I can hardly believe all the negative comments! The representative who has been responding has to be at a loss on how to handle these reviews.

Lets start with the cons on this service (bulk of it)
-Shipping rebates take FOREVER to process
-In order to qualify for the rebate you must click the link to the site of choice from THEIR website and complete the transaction, otherwise it doesn't show up in your purchase history.
-They MAIL you a check... yes you heard that right. MAIL, as in snail mail. I thought that stopped back in the 1900's? They said it may to take up to 3 weeks after approval to receive the check in the mail... that is just ridiculous.
-Poor communication- absolutely no e-mail updates saying the rebate processed or that your bank account got charged for the monthly membership fee to remind you... it just kinda shows up so if you aren't paying attention then you are immediately screwed.
-Limited access of stores- there aren't many to choose from.

These are just the ones that I encountered, I am sure there are more...

Pros: I called customer service and they credited my account and expedited the rebate. Were very nice and willing to help. (I think even they realized it was kind of a scam)

Regardless, this is a poor business and not customer friendly, although I am sure somebody is getting rich off of it...

I do NOT recommend. STAY AWAY!

Tip for consumers:
DON'T USE IT! Just pay for the shipping. It is a waste of time and money.
