I wouldlike just to say that Iam proud of this website, because the members are doing their best to provide good services. I advise people to take their time to discover it!
I joined this site -with much hesitation- because I thought it would be an exponential to broaden my freelancing options. WRONG. I'd barely finished my profile when a 'Lucia' appeared in the message thingy, stating she was my "assigned" recruiter. Whatever the heck that meant. A recruiter on a freelancing site...? Okay... Then reposted me several of those 'welcome' messages, which were basically copy/paste nonsense. Then daily spam emails to my inbox littering me with proposals that nowhere matched my profile, like software engineering and data science analyst. Even Upwork is better than that crap.

Tip for consumers:
USE AT YOUR OWN RISK
Terrible customer service. Bad even sometimes rude language. My project was promised to be finieshed within 7 days, but it took the freelancer, who was recommended to me by official freelancer.com agents, 4 months to close it with some of the tasks left open.
I have been trying to withdraw the rest of my money for the past 5 weeks, and they have put me in a loop.
I think this is the first website review I've ever written in my life and it is past working hours rn. It's that bad. If you're looking for something to piss you off, go for it.
And by the way, quality of work does not match European Standards at all. I wish there was an option to choose zero start ratings in this website.
Zero skills in communication, horrible customer service, UX is really a mess, you don't know when you are as a client or as a freelancer. I don't know how they manage the payment, but I saw few reviews where you cant trust. Do not waste your time, UPWORK, quick and fast, stay away from this platform.
I started with Freelancer a few months ago and after the first few scammers on their site that reacted to my bids I decided to give the site the benefit of the doubt and continue trying to place bids. Literally everyone one of the contacts I recieved asked me to contact them over Telegram and then proceeded to try different variations of scams on me, from asking me for $50 for an ID to start working for them, to asking for my personal information. I reported this to the website and contacted them but they gave me a bland non helpful response. I wouldn't waste my time or money on this site again.
Assuming I do 10 projects, they steal more than 2 payments from me. They almost stole 10K USD from only me. Looking that there are ******* freelancers on this site, they will steal ******* * 10K USD from all freelancers. Don't work on freelancer.com. Go to upwork.com.
Has not withdrawn from Russia and continues to support Russia during the Ukraine invasion - by operating in Russia this enables the Russian economy to support the war.

I posted a job for a graphic designer and as soon as I accepted a bid from a so-called designer I realized it was a mistake. When I asked for a portfolio of her work, her company website was down. I contacted Freelancer.com numerous times but only received a response once I opened a dispute with my credit card company. This is an awful company and I urge people to stay away and find more competent and reliable people to work with. In addition, it seems that most of their designers are from third world companies who are happy to receive any kind of funds. BEWARE
I am a UK-based freelance programmer and have been getting jobs on Freelancer.com for the last six months.
Recently Freelancer.com stole $200 and £110 from my account within a span of a few days. They call it "Reversal of done milestone payment" but everybody else calls it THEFT.
They didn't even refund me the project fees until I complained to customer support. I have already filed complaints with Action Fraud UK and the UK Trading Standards office. I suggest to whoever has fallen victim to Freelancer.com and is resident in the UK to do the same.
I am in the process of withdrawing all my funds and moving to Upwork.
Conclusion: Freelancer.com is a SCAM and should be AVOIDED at all costs.
This is a really bad site... Whatever your question there is no one giving you answer. I got two projects and I completed with a good review then get paid $250. But I got only $83 from the total paid amount... I pay subscription fee and take a few tests and when I ask about the balance discrepancy nobody there to reply or give me statement. Then I found out that someone is playing with my profile and changing my profile when I apply for a job and I ask them to check into it and find me solution... I even attached a snapshot of the matter and again no one reply to me... if someone get a reward for not answering they should be a number one on not answering list... no matter what your problem is or how many times you asked them. There is absolutely no answer. The only time they contact you is to remind you about subscription or sending expired ads which doesn't fit your skill. You can simply understand that their only concern is to ask for money. And 90% of the project is fake or advertised by middle men, so by mistake if you apply for these people they ask you to send your e-mail address so that they can send you job description... but they will ask you for another payment for them to get the project... I also report this but still they didn't take any action... actual its worse than before to be frank... and its difficult to get genuine offer... all in all its really shameful the way they handle their site... they don't have any control over the site... I am just amused how they follow up the reviews and take time to answer all the complaints here... why don't they answer the question they get on their own site there.? You should be ashamed of your lame excuses here, its like you are trying to cover your fault here. Try to fix your problem on your own site... Whoever is wondering about this site should stay away from there...
I'm still working around my way into a job with any of the ad posts on the site. So far in the last month there have been at least a dozen jobs with most of them asking for a content writer and sadly I could only apply for two posts because the rest of them demanded for a specific level of technical expertise for their tasks. So in other words, the demand for labor is close to 2% but the most impressive thing about it is that it has generous payouts say $10-$100 per hour depending on how tasking a project is...!
Sorry I got a regret notice saying, "We regret to inform you that your application has been declined with reason "Just preferred other applicants." Sounds prejudiced!
