UNFAIR BILLING (NEGATIVE EXPERIENCE) - POOR CUSTOMER HANDLING & INTERACTION
November 12, 2023

To be a successful business organization in today's time - it is ABSOLUTELY essential to meet the customers' need and maintain good relationships with consumers; especially if you have grown to be a well-known and well-reputed cell phone carrier in the recent years AND considered to be amongst the top cell carriers that are well-renowned. The fact that Freedom Mobile do not offer a pause of billing temporarily after the customer informs and communicates to Freedom customer service that she will be temporarily out of country and returning in a few months - shows lack of trust and care for the customer on Freedoms end. As many other cell carriers that are well-known such as Rogers, Bell, Fido and various others offer the policy to temporarily pause contract and continue when there usage resumes - Freedom should offer this as it costs the company nothing to have this clause in effect. In this situation - the customers' payment history should demonstrate to the agent of his/her loyalty. Again - Freedom has demonstrated lack of understanding for their loyal customer.

PHONE: Samsung Ultra 5g

KEY POINT TO NOTE - the cost of the phone had been PAID IN FULL. Only discrepancy is the 2 year contract time period had yet not been fulfilled - but this does not mean you charge your customer around $60-$80 monthly for a phone/data plan when there has been NO USAGE WHATSOEVER!

WORST PART for the customer - imagine your phone is lost/stolen - you return to your country and receive a $424 bill instead of being given the opportunity to resume contract and move forward or come to another negotiation.

RESULTANTLY - I will share this bad experience with people that I know as it is STRESSFUL being burdened unfairly. People need to become more informed when choosing their carrier as the billing in Canada is highest in the world. Often times - people neglect and oversee potential consequences for contractual matters in a hurry.

Positive remark: Other than this, Freedom mobile experience has been good. Understood that they offer better and more reasonable prices as compared to its competitors - they fall below in seeing long-term benefit, profit and gain. Suggestion - broaden the horizon when it comes to signalling and network issues. Since my phone/data service has been good on the most part - I expected Freedom to be cooperative at bare minimum.

When customer service is not good - doesn't matter however good the product is and affordable prices - you want to build positive relationships with the customer so that they continue to do business with you and recommend you to other people. Word-of-mouth travels faster than what one may consider. (RECOMMENDATION for Freedom)

Plea: To dismiss charges for no cell phone usage and only pay what is owed (cost of phone) - NEGOTIATE billing. I am called on daily basis and sent mail. Would like to be given time or finish this matter as close as possible to the real situation.

I have communicated all details with Freedom collections - yet being disturbed with reminders and numerous calls on a daily basis.

From a consumer who is unemployed currently.

Charges after closing my account
September 12, 2023

I had freedom for many years and got a better deal moved my family over to Rogers and closed my account but apparently when you close your account after paying your last bill they keep one account open that was not used for 4 months and didn't get a bill for 4 months and now they send me a bill for a tablet? They can't explain why I'm paying they won't make it right with me
They can offer me a deal that I didn't know I had since I wasn't billed for 4 months that Im now paying for
The worst customer service ever you want to get ripped off and have no cell service in the country or in a building then go with these criminals who get there cell service from another provider anyway
I was with freedom for many many years and when they couldn't get me 5g and told me it wasn't available in Canada but Rogers and bell have it I switched and this is the thnx I got for being a great customer for so long. To get a bill for something I didn't know about or use but because it has its own cell number on a tablet they didn't close it when I said close my account
When you call a company and say close my account you would think that they close your account not send a bill 4 months later for something you didn't even use during this time period lol. When you call them you press 1 for English but good luck with that part lol
They are rude and won't do anything to help
I wouldn't recommend this bad cell coverage and bad customer service
If I could leave less than a star it be for sure
When a person says close my account it's close my account not hold one open and charge you 4 months later to get money from you again
Thank you Rogers

Pray you dont need any type of support with Freedom cause you are in for a ride!
January 25, 2023

Honest Review? I am in Toronto Canada, I got three lines from Freedom for my kids (my wife and I are with Rogers). I gotta say with full confidence that this is the MOST inept backwards disorganized company on planet earth (think back to the Rogers days when they held the title). In each of my three instances I have to port a number over. Numbers that I bought that cost me $250 each. I have 30 days to port them or I lost them. I gave all the info to Freedom on day one at the store in person. I made him repeat it twice as the info has to match perfectly or the port will get rejected. He had it perfect told me it would take an hour (bull$#*! I know better than that). 4 days later no love, I call (I in put my phone number when prompted and pin when prompted then when I speak to a rep they ask me for what? Yes my number and my pin) already disgruntled but I gotta get this number ported. The rep asks me for the porting info all over again argh! Says 3 more days. 4 days later nothing, my porting co (numbershack) tells me they are trying everything they can to get Freedom to accept but they havent done anything on their end. I call back, (I get hung up on twice) they ask me for all the info again (this is 4 hours now of talking to diff people). I go on vacation I come back still hasnt been ported. By now Im freaking out cause I have a week before I lost that number. I call back ask for a supervisor. I get hung up on after 30 minutes of dilly dallying. I finally get Yassin. 30 more minutes he tells me he is going to personally look into it and will call me back within 2-3 hours. That was yesterday. No call back, no nothing. Dont know what to do. Do I sue for the loss of my number? I already paid for the service in full for a year (on day one of trying to port this number). The other 2 numbers I bought a year ago, same bull$#*!, took 2 weeks and three phone calls but this time it's different, this time the customer service reps are worse than last year if thats possible and I blame upper management for ill trained employees, not having a VR that transfers input into reps' CRM and for being totally ignorant of customers pain and anguish with no due process to escalate. My three numbers expire next year then I am out. Thank God my wife and I stuck with Rogers, at least that service is sable and they are now well trained (wasnt always the case I had words with their then VP Mike Adams as I was in the industry and he promised he would make changes and he did). Other than that Freedom prices are good just pray you dont need support for anything cause that is non existent.

Tip for consumers:

dont count on any support whatsoever, if price is a factor they are cheap but customer service is beyond any nightmare you could ever dream of.
