Man, $29.95 is a lot to pay for a credit report. Credit reports are free every year, from all three divisions. So paying a dollar is too much.

Freecreditreport is a horrible company with absolutely 0 customer service, they play ads/phrase word to fool people saying report is free or $ 1 for checking score, but nothing is free & infact its over priced. They make money by charging people who dont read the fineprints in small font or written somewhere else. Hope someone takes action on this firm, to not fool the new customers..

I applied to get my free credit report for $1. I checked my report. I then called to cancel the free trial. I was still on the site and clicked on one of the links. I checked my email and realized I had been charged $39.95. I called and was told because I clicked on to see all three that is why I was charge. I let them know that I would be writing a review because I felt I had been tricked. My advice is to leave them alone. I was told that I was told I would be charged in fine print. Why fine print. I feel free credit is crap. And a library. I will never deal with them again and suggest no one else does either u less they want to be tricked

You have probably seen their ads on TV, but the credit report is anything but free, and I do not know how they get away with. Basically, they will give you your credit report, but only after you sign up for their "credit protection" service, which costs 14.95 a month. You cannot get your credit score unless you enter your credit card info. Canceling the subscription is seemingly impossible. So, um, no. By free credit report, they actually mean not a free credit report.

If it's free why do you need my credit card information? Lame.

I should have known better... But I needed by reports quickly so I decided to try freecreditreports.com. Big mistake... The information on the website is hard to find, every click you make on the site prompts you for more money, and If you do not cancel your trial before it is over they will not refund you your money even if it is by a day. When dealing with most sites they will refund you if you missed and have not used their site. Do not use this site!

They make you sign up for a trial that you are supposed to be able to cancel. Back when I did it about 5 years ago it was $49.95, just under the $50 minimum that most credit cards require to do a chargeback. Well I cancelled my free trial immediately after getting my "free" report and still got billed $49.95. I contacted freecreditreport.com and they apologized and said my account was now closed. The following month what do you know another charge for $49.95. This time I called my credit card company who had to cancel my credit card and reissue me a new card with a new number so the charges would stop. Since both charges were under $50 I was unable to dispute them and my "free" credit report cost me $99.90. Low life scummy scammers.

You can see on the thumbnail of this site the gray area above the main white content of FCR.com... Well, I paid $24 for a 15 second bit of work on their end: Three credit agencies' scores for me. Okay, done. Right? NOPE!

I monitor my spending and I know know know I signed up for nothing else, but see that lil gray blurb in the thumbnail? That tells you you are being silently f'ed in the ahole.

I'm a web app programmer and I hate hate hate distrustful scum like this. I got charged $19 the next month and I called and they said that if I cancel I will only be charged one more time.

F them. F them so hard I wish Americans could do something like murder them. Lie to me you bastards!? Do we deserve this treatment? Didn't I pay $24 for my "free credit report"?

When the site first loaded the page auto-scrolled to hide the terms blurb. I can't recreate that, but I know how easy it is to do.

Wonder what that designer specializes in? Distraction? Burn in hell.

Firstly, do not sign up for a "free credit score" with these scammers... my wife signed up for a "free trial without risk" for their services with "no charges" if cancelled within 7 days... we submitted our credit card and later that day telephoned and cancelled membership as per instructions on website... next day my credit card was billed $29.95 by CreditReport.com... my wife phoned with the cancellation confirmation number and was advised that these charges were for her "membership" that she "purchased" and could not be reversed... she was adamant that the charges be reversed, so they agreed to credit our account... they then charged our account another $29.95 and then credited the account $29.95 therefore still getting us for the first $29.95 plus a $1.00 "processing" fee... we've cancelled our card and contacted the bank for a dispute... bottom line, there is no such thing as a "free credit report", do not give these criminals your credit or debit card number... sure, go ahead and try and read the fine print... it still says you can cancel with no charge before 7 days... scumbags!

This website is actually a for-profit website, designed to get you to subscribe to their monthly credit report. (See review in Dec 2010 issue of MacLife magazine, which describes it as a "freebie scam.") You have to remember to CANCEL your subscription within the 7-day trial period to avoid the monthly fee, forever after. You can get a free (REALLY free!) credit report from annualcreditreport.com, which is supported by the three credit-rating companies. A big "F" to freecreditreport.com, for deceptive advertising and tricky website design!

I paid $29.99 on 1/29/11 to get all three of my credit scores. The company says they represent Experian and that my score was 787. On 2/3/11 I received my credit score directly from all 3 agencies, my score for Experian was 857! Exifax and transunion were both signifigantly hire as well. When I called freecreditreport.com at *******942 to complain, I was told that they figure it out by the metric system and that they call it "YOUR PLUS SCORE". I demanded my money back and they would only give me $10. I told them that I was never told that there could be a differance in scores by the companies and then I would make my own decision if I should purchase this package or not.

This site is a fraud, they allow you to supposedly sign up for a free trail then if you
Don't cancel the subscription they automatically start billing you and refuse to refund your money even if it is noticed the charge immediately.

The theives of credit - Avoid these guys like the plague. They are scum. They claim they give you a free credit report and then charge you a monthly fee which is difficult to cancel. These guys are the reason we are in a recession. People in third world countries are starving to death because of people like these.

I would work and vote for anyone who could stop these slimeballs.

Poor - I signed up for their free trial period and after checking on my credit report, was charged $24.95, which was not stated on their site that this would happen. I have called them and canceled my free memebership but wanted to let people be aware that it is not a free trial! I now have to go to my bank to fill out a form to try to get my money back which I may or may not be able to get, which really ticks me off.

They advertise free, well we all know if you get anything it's almost never free. They ask that you register for somethings that are on a trial basis to try other features. Of course if you don't cancel these you will pay later.

It's best to just avoid this and find other means to obtain your credit report. Unless you make sure you cancel anything they make you sign up for.

This is NOT a free credit report as they say it is. Before you can even get one of the credit bureaus print out you have to pay a dollar. Then they want you sign up now for a 7 day trial and then you are charged 14.95. Not cool and NOT free. Change your name to notfreecreditreport.com.

Watch you step when using this site for "Free" credit reports - This is not free. They ask for your personal information and then tell you that your first seven days are free. That is the hitch. They don't send you any warning, i. E. a notice of expiration of free period. The company just charges you $14.95 a month for their monitoring of your credit. If you call to cancel and seek a refund. Forget it. They will cancel your membership, but don't look for a refund. Buyer beware.
There are better choices for credit protection if you want it, but their attitude and concern for their site leaves much to be desired.
