Anthony Says, "I Don't Know If I want to Sell to You"
March 12, 2022

I reached out to Fraser engines to obtain a quote for a remanufactured engine. I initially spoke with a very cordial gentleman named John. John needed to investigate further before confirming that the engine was on hand. Because of the engine size, the quote came higher than what was initially emailed/texted to me. The new quote did not specify if it came with the same High Durability 5-year warranty as the previous quote, so, I called back into the Sales line for clarity, however John was unavailable. The line was answered by ANTHONY, who asked for my phone number and proceeds to review the contents of the log (I presume). ANTHONY then proceeds to tell me that BOTH QUOTES (the initial one I received via text and the one that John provided) were WRONG! ANTHONY proceeds to ask me for the VIN number and I stated that I had already provided it to John, he stated John was on another line. I asked if that info was not attached to my phone number, as I did not have VIN on hand at the time. ANTHONY then proceeds to tell me "If youre gonna keep talking while I'm talking I can just hang up". I replied that I'd like to speak with John as he was already familiar with the situation and had done the research and that I didn't want to start all over again. ANTHONY then states, "JOHN WORKS FOR ME, so do you want to give me the VIN or NOT?" I obliged and went to retrieve the VIN, once I stated that I have the VIN number, ANTHONY then replies, "you know, I dont know if I wanna even sell it to you now"!
As you can imagine, this caught me off-guard! I paused, (remembering that this was a $5,000.00+ purchase) and then replied, And I don't think I want to spend my money with you or your company.

Now I presume Anthony is a Supv or lead in the Sales department, but it's evident that he is clearly in need of some retraining in Customer Service & Customer Care. Stating that John worked for him, as if he's above asking John for info, clearly proves that he should probably be working for John!
So, while I guess Fraser can miss a $5,000 sale, because ANTHONY doesn't have the mental fortitude to use his customer service skills, I hope that Fraser Corporate sees this and reminds ANTHONY that they're in the business to make money and not enemies. I came away with the impression that ANTHONY thought I should pay more than what was originally quoted.

Corporate, if you like to know more about this interaction with Big Boss ANTHONY!

The company is a complete failure
February 5, 2022

I have bought 2 engines and a transmission from this company. The 1st engine and transmission I bought in 2018, everything went good for both of those transactions, the transmission had a band failure 3 months after replacement, they paid me to put another transmission in and everything was good. The 3rd engine I bought summer 2020, a basic chevy 350 K engine. First one they send, the camshaft is locked up, I luckily found that before installation. I then try to get another and that is when I found out what a failure their company had become. Your call now goes to a call center, they have no idea about anything and cannot transfer you to anyone. You'll leave message after message and make call after call taking up countless hours. Then when you get ahold of someone finally, you'll have to wait for another person to call you which takes even longer. Took 6 weeks and had to start a case with the BBB to get another engine, zero compensation was paid out for any of it. 6 weeks the truck sat waiting on them clogging up my garage. I finally get it done and sent the original and faulty engine both back, waited for the core money and it never came. Once again I had to waste more time calling and calling these people to push my core money back to me, like a baby sitter. The engine lasted until dec 2020, guy put 500 miles on it, started to make a cold start lifter noise. Once again I had to go through their call center and piss poor customer service. Took 3 weeks to finally get a claim started with them, kept being told a tech will call over and over again, once again countless hours calling and checking due to the incompetence that runs rapid at this place. I finally talk to their tech and am told, I have to buy the parts and labor will not be covered, then I can send the parts in and they may or may not cover them. So I ask why labor is not covered and was told it needs to go to a licensed shop, even though I am ase certified, Gm certified, it's not enough. They will only pay the shop $50 per hour, how many shops do you think charge that. So the customer is responsible for the rest even though it was their failure and fault. I then ask they guy to explain to me how they can tell if a lifter is bad and was causing the noise on cold start, he could not answer the question. I also brought up how I was paid labor to replace the failed transmission I previously replaced, he also could not answer the question. So their warranty is the customer pays for the parts, and either fixes it themselves for free or pays a shop to fix it, in other words it's toilet paper. Would advise anyone to look elsewhere for a engine, transmission or whatever else they will not stand behind. I've dealt with countless warranty companys throughout my 20+ years as a technician and this is one of them that will look for anyway possible to not pay a claim, a real company would have had this done and paid out the 1st week I called, a real engine rebuilding company would not have issue after issue with a basic small block v8.

Beware of "Parting Ways"
June 20, 2021

First thing... Danielle was Awesome! And should be in charge of the whole company. So I ordered an engine on May 5th and talked to Anthony. During that conversation he said that he saw an engine in stock in their Texas location and it should be here in Michigan around Tuesday and they would call me to come and pick it up. I waited until the following Thursday and decided to call back. Talked to Anthony at which time he denied telling me that and said he told me 7-10 days which would have been fine with me in the first place but he took this very personal and looking back I believed I was "Doomed to Part Ways" at this point. On Friday Evening Danielle called me to say the engine was there in Shelby Twp and I could pick it up on Monday. I asked about how long they were there, how it would be loaded, etc. and she said all was good. Monday comes and I contacted Danielle again by phone just to make sure we were still good and she said come on down. So I leave work early, borrow a pickup truck from my son in law and drive out to Shelby. I get to the location, the overhead door was open so I back up to it and go inside. The first person I encounter is a man at a desk, he looks at me like I'm bothering him and we haven't even spoken yet and says "Can I Help You" I say "I'm here to pick up my Engine" (I have a mask on he doesn't) he YELLS! Back "What? I Can't Hear You" I remove my mask and Yell Back "I'm Here to Pick Up My Engine" Then Danielle comes out with my Paperwork and tells him what needs to be done. The guy shuffles into the back and finds my engine shuffles back and gives me the paperwork and says "it's going to be a few minutes" I say "no problem" when he returns he says "we have to wait for Paul to get back, he has the hi-lo keys, it's going to be a couple of hours or more, ""I WISH YOU WOULD HAVE CALLED TO SAY YOU WERE COMING"" I'll admit that at this point I am getting aggravated and I explain to him about my conversations with Danielle and that I did call. I ask "isn't there something else we can do"? He yells "why would you ask that question I already told you we don't have the keys to the hi-lo"? I said something about "You guys really need to work on your process" and he asked for my paperwork back. He goes inside and a few minutes later the overhead door closes and he calls my phone and says "I think that we just need to part ways. I am processing your refund and you'll get an email with the confirmation" I was shocked that a Business would drop a $2,500.00 sale because they could not accept responsibility for their issues and treat me with respect. All he had to do was be a "Decent Person" which he is not and say "I'm sorry but Paul took the Hi-Lo keys home by mistake and he's a couple hours out. He can come back and we can still get this done" I would have said fine and went somewhere to eat and came back. Instead he blamed ME! And took no responsibility for his companies actions. I have been in Customer Service for a long time and know how this should have been handled they he just didn't care. I did not get his name but will refer to him as Shuffles. Moral of the story "Beware of Parting Ways" I would not do business with this joke of a company.

Great experience with engine... but lacking on communication
March 21, 2020

After doing a lot of research and reading reviews of each company, I chose Fraser Engines mainly because of the price and the no questions asked 5 year unlimited mile warranty. I ordered the 5.4 3v engine on 18 Feb 2020, I spoke with Michael when placing the order and was told the engine was in stock and could ship once funds were received, I gave Michael my banking info and opted to pay by electronic check that would also save me a 100.00 bucks. I received the invoice promptly and immediately saw a problem and I began wondering if I made the right decision, the invoice did not reflect the $100.00 discount. I called back and spoke with Michael and he said it should have been and that he would get with the girls in accounting to fix it. Well two days went by and no new invoice so I emailed customer service inquiring about the invoice and wasn't long I received a call from Robert Fraser asking how he could help and he didn't understand the wacky email, after explaining to him he then apologized as he just skimmed the email and advised he would take of it. I had the correct invoice by the end of the day. Also the funds were deducted from my bank 20 Feb 2020 the same day Robert corrected the invoice. Now for the $100.00 discount they owed me I was told once my funds hit their bank they would refund me. Anyways to shorten this long review my money was pending in their account on 25 Feb 2020 per the lady I spoke with and she said it should clear overnight and the engine shipping details would be emailed to me. On 26 Feb 2020 the engine showed up early that morning at the shop, but was in the very front of the trailer so the driver said he would come back after he unloaded the trailer which was fine. About 1:30 the driver came back and we unloaded the engine. I checked my emails and at 3:20 CST I received an email the engine shipped with a tracking number, I just laughed as we already had the engine. As for the $100.00 it was deposited back into my account on 28 Feb 2020 without me making a call or email, thanks to Fraser for that. Now for the core refund, the core was shipped on 5 Mar 2020 and delivered at 7:16am CST on 9 Mar 2020 with a signature of receipt. The invoice states that "Once the core is picked up, normally takes 10 to 14 days for the refund due to the transit time and our check in process". Now today is the 14th day and I haven't received an email or call from anyone at Fraser Engines about the core, I'm assuming all is good with the core as I've heard nothing and expect they will refund the $450.00 in a couple days, if not guess I'll have to take the time and call them to check on it. Now for the engine don't hesitate to buy from Fraser as it was as advertised and installed per there instructions. Truck is running great with about a 160 miles on the engine. The only hiccup was that Auto-Zone supplied the wrong water pump and had to wait until the next day to get the correct one.

Smooth-talking LIARS. 5 months, 2 engines, no vehicle, no refund. STAY AWAY!
October 26, 2019

Incompetent liars. Avoid doing business with them, no matter what they advertise. 5-star reviews here are obviously planted by Fraser. Listen to those of us who have been conned by them.

My mechanic ordered a Fraser engine (instead of Jasper) without my knowledge. I found out when it took an extra month for the engine to arrive... and it was the wrong engine. Not just a simple mistake, but the wrong number of cylinders. It took weeks for them to pick it up and several more weeks for them to redeliver a correct engine.

After the mechanic installed the engine, there were difficulties with it that even the local dealer could not diagnose. After several more weeks of debug, the mechanic said it was ready. The engine failed immediately, and the vehicle was taken to a shop specializing in engines.

Paul at Fraser authorized them to do the debug/fix work and promised them he would cover all labor and parts expenses. The specialty shop found the specific issue, and Paul asked that they send the engine back to Fraser so that their "tech team" could fix it.

In the meantime I encouraged the specialty shop to present Fraser with their invoice for their debug work and for pulling the engine to send to Fraser. That's when Paul increased the wattage on his lying. He told them not to worry, he'd pay for everything, but for them to wait until they had the entire invoice.

Engine arrived back to the specialty shop, they installed it... and it has the same failure they detected... the failure that caused Paul to insist they send the engine back to Fraser to fix.

After numerous calls to Paul, he claimed he sent the check to the specialty shop. It's been a week and a half, and the check hasn't arrived. The specialty shop has now put a lien on my vehicle until they are paid.

Net result: No engine, no vehicle, I paid for a Fraser engine, I paid for installation.

My attorney is in the process of putting together the paperwork for the multiple lawsuits I will file in the coming weeks. I will file against my original mechanic and against Fraser. There are others involved who will also likely get named in the suit.

If you're a mechanic, DO NOT RECOMMEND FRASER ENGINES. You will end up paying in dollars for that choice. If you're a consumer, FRASER ENGINES is a CON SHOP. They are not competent in engine rebuilding, and they will lie to you to play for time.

LIARS
February 23, 2019

The rebuilt engine I received was ACTUALLY from TRI-STAR ENGINES AND TRANSMISSIONS IN BALDWIN, WISCONSIN. It was a "Re-manufactured" Jeep 4.7L HO (VIN J) engine. On 20 December 2018, at about 4800 miles it made a bad noise upon cold start. Ultimately it was discovered the Thrust Bearing failed and a crankshaft counterweight was hitting the engine block.

I was told no ready-built 4.7 HO was available nor was a core in stock to build one. Defective engine had to be shipped back for 're-re-building'. FIASCO AND LYING ENSUED.

On 7 February 2019 I called FRASER ENGINE to find out what is taking so long to get the engine back. PAUL FRASER answered with BS about his 'production contact' being sick and there was no way to he could find out what is going on. I then called TRI-STAR (after tiring of PAUL FRASER's BS) and, although the trucking company records showed it was delivered to them several days earlier, they had no record of it.

After finding this out 7 February 2019 (about a month after the decision was made to re-re-build the engine) I cursed PAUL FRASER out verbally and via text. After I continued to curse him out while he played "I don't know why you are so upset" PAUL FRASER decided (I did not ask) to refund purchase the price AND send my ORIGINAL core back AND refund labor - all this I have in writing.

NOTE: The original story was no 4.7L HO's or Cores available. Now, at this point I was promised my ORIGINAL core returned. Which is the lie FRASER? (1) The 'no core available' OR (2) 'we'll send your original core to you'? Answer: The lie was I would get my original back. However, probably both are lies but I can prove one definitely is.

Got purchase price refund on 14 February 2019, AN engine was received 18 February 2019 but it was not my original core (why would it be, dealing with these $#*!s). When I texted that fact and asked about the labor refund no response (again why would there be - right).

PAUL FRASER IS A LIAR. JIM FRASER IS A BULL$#*! COVER UP. TRI-STAR MAKES CRAP.

I'm out $3550. 40 for the initial installation labor, the diagnostic charges and removal of the $#*! rebuild.

I've filed with the Michigan BBB and am filing with Macomb County, Michigan District Court a small claims case.

DON'T GAMBLE WITH FRASER OR TRI-STAR.
