This Birmingham based dealer is the worst I have ever come across in 35 years of buying cars. I am a private buyer and went to Fortwill because of good reviews and well priced cars. Unfortunately the one I purchased was a complete lemon with a severely knackered engine with multiple oil leaks and a fuelling issue causing it to go in to limp mode, or stop altogether, at 60mph. None of these faults were disclosed at the time of purchase. When I bought them to Fortwills attention they were dismissive and obstructive. They advised I use a local garage to rectify the faults and then refused to pay the invoice claiming the local mechanic had caused the problems. (He hadn't. He only replaced the oil an added a stop leak additive) The warranty, for which I received no paperwork, was a work of fiction and all attempts to get Fortwill to repair, replace or even contribute to repairs failed. On taking legal action I discovered that Fortwill use a company call Carpoint to process their Mastercard payments. As there is no legal link between the two companies it is not possible to make a S75 claim through Mastercard. This decision was, reluctantly, supported by the Financial Ombudsman. The last option was small claims Court but the time spent persuing S75 and the Ombudsman has made even this a pointless option. I am left with a £1600 car that I cannot/will not sell with the faults it came with. Sadly, most review sites give a right to reply and so far Fortwill have dismissed my claims on both Google and Autotrader review sites. All the above is completely true and I just want anyone buys from this "dealer" to be very aware of how they will behave if you dare to have a problem with your purchaseSee critical reviews
