“Secured a 100% Work-from-home Marketing Manager Position”

NATASHA T.
4/12/19

By joining FlexJobs, I was able to find a 100% work from home position as a Marketing Manager in the US for a global tech company headquartered in Belgium. It has been a wonderful experience and the perfect match for my expertise. Without FlexJobs, there's no way I would have found this opportunity on my own. I highly recommend paying the minimal subscription cost if you are serious about finding legitimate flexible positions - many with benefits!

A lot of the jobs are like 30+ days old.
Or there's not a lot of entry level jobs. Too many of them require way too much.
They don't sent out mail about when your trial is about to expire, so I end up getting charged for that month.
Pretty $#*!ty to not let you know that.
My coffee bean subscription even emails me about my order is about to be charged.
Lack the effort to tell ppl their trial or subscription is about to expire, you end up just stealing money secretly.

I recently tried FlexJobs with the hope of finding quality remote work opportunities, but unfortunately, my experience fell short of expectations. Despite the promise of a scam-free and curated job listing portal, I encountered issues with the site's functionality that significantly hindered my use of the service.

One major concern was the subscription model, which requires payment for access to job listings. Upon deciding the service wasn't for me, I found the process to cancel my account and remove my personal data overly cumbersome and not user-friendly. Direct communication, such as sending an email, is required to initiate cancellation or data removal, and to my disappointment, no confirmation of the action taken was provided.

This lack of transparency and difficulty in managing one's account and personal information is a critical drawback. For those considering FlexJobs, I advise proceeding with caution. It's crucial to fully understand the terms of service, especially regarding subscription cancellation and data privacy, before committing.

Meanwhile, I got 4 in the same period on Indeed for free. Most of the jobs I'd hear back from a day later to say they were already filled. As I read through reviews here, they all read the same way. It seems very odd and zero like my experience. I'd be wary.

Terrible!

Accidentally got into monthly subscriptions without notice. No monthly renewal notification or monthly renewal receipt being send to my registered email. Hence, my card being charged for monthssss and upon tracing back my record, in some of the month they even charged me twice!
Once realised this on my bank statement, I terminated immediately and reached out to their support and feedback team. However, no respond and no reply at all.

Really disappointed on this website.

My initial intention is to get more jobs hiring information but turn out I got scammed by them.

I posted this and wished that can reduce victims on this website.

I tried to cancel my account for two months in a row and they still kept charging me for the account. They gave my refund and then took it right back out and when I called to ask why they took it back they basically told me they didn't (even though I had the bank statement) and told me to call my bank (I already had) and then told me that basically I was just out of luck. If you plan to get this please make sure they don't scam you and repeatedly take your money.

This a way to capture subscriptions that are nearly impossible to cancel. I signed up looking for part time work and customer service is nonresponsive. It says you can cancel under account settings, but you cannot - so you have to endure this lengthy online chat or phone call to cancel where they ask you 10 questions to retain you. This is a bad experience all around.

This company claimed to provide refund within 14 days of signing up for their service but when I tried to request for the refund, they continuously ignore me. I have sent several requests by email and their website contact form, but received zero response at all. This is a fraudulent practice and I'm asking to file a chargeback with my bank on this. Terrible website that includes a digital sweatshops. Flexjobs should be ashamed of what they do to the global south. They will charge you 25 dollars a month just to apply to hundreds of jobs a day without a single reply. When you do get job you will earn less than someone employed by mcdonalds. Terrible exploitative westerners taking advantage of people in developing countries. Typical North America and European exploitation, oppresion and racism. Don't look for work via FlexJobs if you want to eat more than 500 calories per day.

Tip for consumers:
Yes, these people will never refund you for the money they stole for youth to display non existent jobs. There's hundreds of dead listings on the site that the woman who runs this company has never even bothered to clear out. She's seems more interested in writing articles these days. Yet more mismanagement by spoilt western women. "Queen of remote work" more like queen of extracting wealth from desperate developers in the global south. What a terrible and exploitative human being.

Signed up for a "trial" period, which still requires you to pay $2.95 by the way, and I then got too busy and never got a chance to use it. So, I called customer service in January to cancel, and apparently that cancellation never went through, so now I've been charged a useless $50 because of FlexJobs error. And even though I have been allowed to *only* "submit a request" (meaning it's not even guaranteed) for at least a refund from the most recent charge, it was not even an option to request a refund for the first charge because it's been over 30 days, even though this is their error.
I find this to be tactless, especially when you are dealing with customers who are looking for income and need very penny they have. It just feels like you're taking advantage of people that are trying to figure out how to find work online. Bottom line: don't sign up for FlexJobs if you're not 100% sure you will have the time or end up using their resources.

I was never able to access the subscriber's features on this website; every time I logged in, I was prompted to subscribe, and it would not let me access any other option on the website unless I purchased one of their plans, while I was already in their 3-month plan. I emailed Flexjobs when I noticed this happening and communicated the issue with them; they reassured me that they would cancel my subscription and refund me. I considered the matter solved. However, almost 30 days later (i.e today), I find a pending transaction toward FlexJobs of the 3-month subscription fee, in my bank statement. When I checked my account on FlexJobs it turnes out I am still in the 3-month plan. I checked my bank statement and have not seen a refund from them either. So, not only did they not refund or cancel my subscription as they had promised, but they continued to charge me without my consent. What's worse, there doesn't seem to be a way to cancel the ongoing subscription on my end, unless I contact them. Also, when I look at the status of my account it is impossible to know if my subscription is active, as it states: "Next Billing Date: 12/15/18" which is not accurate or makes any sense. Also, I have not received an order number or receipt from them either. I am deeply disappointed in this service. I have emailed FlexJobs, left a message through their website, and am writing this review here to escalate the situation, as this service is utterly *******@FlexJobs, please cancel my subscription and refund me.

I subscribed to flexjobs $4 trial for 2 weeks. It was not stated how much the package would be after this trial had ended upon signup. I then forgot to cancel this subscription and so they took payment of $30. There was no email reminder from them that this was happening which is customary for companies to do. I contacted them to query this, I have been completely ignored. Multiple times now I have emailed them with no response. There is no customer service and so I will never be using this service again. Do not recommend, it is a farce.

Tip for consumers:
I have never been ignored by a company before in this way, especially as I am a paying customer. It is absolutely shocking to me. Do not ever expect help or a response from them. Diabolical.

On November 8,2023, I purchased only the 7-day plan for BRL 14.93 (approximately US$3.00). With a perfect understanding of trial periods, there was no indication of any 'renewal,' not even via email. I never received any order confirmation emails, only the newsletter. What I intended to buy was strictly the few-day plan. However, my card was billed BRL 121.97 (approximately $25.00) 15 days later without any prior notice. I also did not receive any information on this payment—no confirmation email, no receipt, no invoice, nothing at all. I did not use the service and I received no email regarding this unexpected charge, which I strongly disagree with.

Regrettably, I overlooked the November charge but discovered it on December 22, the day after the second unauthorized monthly charge ( $25.00). I request a prompt and full refund for this service, as I did not consent to, nor was informed about, any monthly charges. Your immediate attention to this matter is appreciated.

I have a lot of complaints with this service and website.
You have to pay in order to see where the job postings are from and their details. The cost is 15$ a month.
The search functions and filters hardly work. When selecting remote or seniority level specifically, it doesn't even filter the results correctly ever.
When trying to delete your account or cancel your subscription, the website design prohibits you from cancelling or deleting unless you answer multiple questions and there is no "other" option. They demand marketing info from you on your way out or else they won't let you leave. I find this pretty hostile and unethical.
Useless site, waste of money, search functions don't work, bad customer service

Tip for consumers:
Don't bother. Find another website. This site has so much spam and too expensive

I have been promised that I will find jobs, and support, so on. That they forgot to tell me that this service is targeted at US / North America... I live in the EU so there is nothing interesting for me here, even the remote jobs were posted as US only... I contacted them several times, opened countless tickets, wrote a chat, and nothing happened. No answer, anything. Hello, Zita! Thanks for reaching out to FlexJobs. We do not promise or guarantee you will find a position, as we are not a recruiter or headhunter. We guarantee that all positions on our site will be hand-screened to be legitimate, and scam-free, and offer work flexibility. I am sorry for any confusion regarding that. I signed up for a two week trial that cost around $7. Toward the end of the trial, I tried to cancel my account, but the website conveniently didn't recognize my email and I was unable to sign in. Multiple phone calls and emails later, I was able to get the account canceled, but would not be refunded the full billing cost of a months subscription despite the fact it was a result of their error. I will be escalating this to whatever in whatever way I can, but the unethical business practice is unreal.

Update: after threatening legal action, their customer service finally responded by blaming me for the applicable error, and billing me yet another cycle. Run from this company.

The site is a "legitimate" job searching site, however a majority of the jobs advertised are frauds and fronts for either pyramid scheme jobs or information theft jobs. I very much doubt the validity of all the positive reviews 1. No one talks like that, 2. No one I have actually spoken to has said a single positive thing about this place. Don't do it, its a waste of money, stick to actual job search sites.

Honestly being in the position of unemployment is the worst in this day and age. I personally have Been unemployed for 85% of 2023 so I thought I would try a paid service such as this one. I've always been been wary of giving my card info for "free trials," and this is exactly why. I didn't receive any job emails and $24 was taken out of my account and today there is currently a pending $24. I tried to block them from trying to take more money out through my bank but unfortunately it is still pending, meaning I don't have access to that money again. That was supposed to be for groceries and now….I have no money for food. For most people $23 is no big deal but for me having $46 taken from my account with zero to show for it. Don't waste your money
