DO NOT WORK WITH THIS COMPANY; RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN AND DO NOT LOOK BACK!
November 10, 2023

I would NOT suggest signing on with this company. My advice to you is RUN as quickly as you can and DO NOT LOOK BACK! Stay away from First Premier Home Warranty!

I would NOT recommend that anyone sign on to work with this very shady company. 1st, I was charged taxes when my state does not tax ins. The documentation did not show price of policy + Taxes; it was all lumped together showing total cost as what was paid for policy. That was reimbursed when I called about it. When I really looked thru reviews, I noticed that the good reviews were about customer service on the front end and the great deals that people were given. However, when I found reviews about the experience people had when they actually filed a claim, those were the very bad reviews.

Next, I was told that within the first 30 days (the waiting period), if I cancelled, I would get 100% full refund. I then cancelled later on the same day that I signed on with First Premier. This was on a Friday, and I had to wait until Monday for handling. Then I was told I had to sign a form to cancel the policy. I received via email a Release saying First Premier Home Warranty would keep $50 admin fee, with a very strong worded paragraph at the bottom of the release. That was their "form that needed signing" so that they could cancel the policy. I just signed it to get this over with and wrote that this was not what was promised. I also asked for a response confirming the receipt of my email and that the refund would be coming soon. I had to call to follow-up with them, as no one responded as requested.

I was told that the required admin fee was clearly stated in the Warranty, but you do not see that document until AFTER they take the money and then they email it to you. After further review, I found in the Warranty under cancellation section, that if you cancel within the first 30 days, you do get a full refund as I was initially promised. I mentioned that to First Premier Employee in Accounting, and he said to email that into him. I did, he got it and said he would escalate it for review, and that it would only hold up my getting my reimbursement by one day. He said he would call the next day with an update on this, and he did not.

I called the next day asking for that employee and was left on an extended hold. I could not get him on the phone. Finally, after calling back a few times, I spoke with someone else who asked if I signed the release. I confirmed that I did, so he said nothing could be done and the reimbursement less the $50 admin fee was being put thru that evening.

I was then reimbursed. I saw pending transactions the very next morning. The full $1960 was reimbursed to my card (and they also charged me again for that $50 admin fee). They covered their butts. They gave it all back because legally they knew they had to, and then they charged the $50 because they had the signed Release on file. The Release that NEVER SHOULD HAVE BEEN SENT TO ME IN THE FIRST PLACE.

This is a shady company. Any company with any integrity at all, would have apologized and simply made the full refund that I truly was due. I hope this explains why I would NEVER EVER work with First Premier Home Warranty or recommend them to anyone else. They pretty much stole $50 but it was worth that loss, to find out who and what they were before getting in any deeper with them. If I had stayed on past that first 30 day waiting period, even though they say you can cancel at any time for a full prorated refund, they do not talk about the $50 Admin Fee charged for each and every month you cancel for and the fact that IF you did file a claim prior to cancelling, they will also be taking back any and all monies they spent on that claim. While you would not have to pay anything more to them, it is likely that most, if not all, of your prorated refund will be eaten up by their fees. In fairness, I will say that some of what I just stated about cancellation seems to be normal practice within the industry, but not the $50 admin fee charged for each and every month (there is normally a single admin fee) and no other company did not honor the full refund policy for the first 30-day-waiting period. Please do NOT work with First Premier Home Warranty, and if you have begun looking into their services, as initially stated above, run as fast as you can and never look back. I sincerely hope that this review/warning saves some of you some unnecessary grief and expense.

Avoid First Premier Home Warranty
August 23, 2023

Warning; This is the worst Warranty Company. They have horrible customer service. They don't bank their product & you can't even review them on BBB. Things have gotten so Toxic that I've had to file a complaint with the Attorney General. Stay Far Away. (P.S. They treated my mom just as poorly with a different situation. She was so angry that she filed a complaint 1st. I really regret recommending them to her).

I bought a Home Warranty Policy "Special Promo" to get an extra year free & $15 discount on my Service Fees. I was promised Cancellation at any time without any problems because I'm disabled & on a fixed income. When I called to file a Claim for a leak & cancel the remaining years, I was told the "Years" couldn't be separated, & I'd had have any amount paid for my "Claims" deducted from my refund. All Legal & Marketing Documents ONLY address! 1 Year Policies, therefore, if the Merchant failed to Excluded mine from this Rule under the " ""Special Promotion" I purchased, then they were in breach of their contract. My Credit Card Company agreed & refunded the monies, but weeks after the dispute was closed the Merchant's Lawyer sent a letter with an email sent thier Sales Manager emailed me with the contact info of a Plumber. Instead of completing due dilegence, they besmirched my character & lied saying I received "Services Rendered," which is false. My Venmo Recharged me, the Merchant chancelles the policy (yet to refund me), & now Venmo wants me to work with the Merchant eventhough they know I NEVER received the Services per the Attorney's letter. He LIED to my Credit Card Company & got them to Recharge my card. I called the merchant today & they can't even tell me if my policy is active. It's been a mess. Dealing with this on top of my father passing away last month has me at my breaking point. Please help me!

Tip for consumers:

Use a company that doesn't focus on maintenance. It'll cost more, but you won't waste your money in "Denied" Claims.

STAY AWAY
June 21, 2023

STAY AWAY - first off, I am a Service Provider for many home warranty companies, I have been in business for 14 years and I pride myself in my work. When we signed up to provide service for First Premier I found it very odd that asked us to write positive reviews for them on many platforms before they would dispatch any work, that should have been enougo to make me walk away but I knew I could always change reviews later.

So move ahead a few months, I have provide repairs, received authorizations and submitted invoices following the First Premier guidelines. Today I had another repair to complete for a First Premier client, I called FPHW in advance to tell them I needed to be paid for all of my previous invoices, I could barely understand what the person was telling me on the other line but I put the pieces together enough to know he was going to have someone call me back. Unfortunately I missed there return call because the number they called from was spoofed, they left a message so I returned the call to the number provided. They answered the phone and I said I was returning a call and attempting to have my invoices paid, the person on the phone said call back after 12:00est because they where not in. So to add more frustration to my already waiting to get paid now I'm being told that the person that called me back doesn't get in the office for three more hours. I challenged his statement and told him I was returning a call I just received a couple of minutes before. He rudely told me to hang on and transfer me to somebody else. When the next person picked up the phone, (TODD) he immediately said "what invoices have allegedly not been paid for", at this point I went off, letting them know their entire business is shady and I can see the reasons they have poor reviews. Todd decided at this point to let me know I wasn't going to be getting paid for the work and invoices I had performed and submitted under their authorizations.

At this point I knew I was one of many tradesman that made this company successful because they make their money off the back of honest hardworking tradesman. I tossed in a few choice words to let him know what a crappy company they are and he decided to threaten me and invited me to come to New York to say what I had to say in person, yes this really happened, I let him know he can keep my hard earned money and I will share my story everywhere I can, and here I am. Please, STAY AWAY, they are crooks running a scam under the guise of an insurance company.

I feel this company is a scam. They are very unresponsive and don't seem to cover very much.

I'm having a terrible experience with First Premier Home Warranty. My water heater stopped working right over two weeks ago and I contacted First Premier. First Premier emailed me on 3-23-2023 saying I needed to call Thomas Plumbing and that Thomas plumbing would come assess the water heater and that I would need to pay Thomas Plumbing $60. Thomas plumbing couldn't come out until 3-27-2023 at which time I gave them $60. The plumber explained that the elements needed replacement. He said he would report back to First Premier to get approval for the repair. A full week later First Premier still hadn't responded to the plumber's report. When I talked to the plumber, he said he'd emailed First Premier a couple of times to follow up, but they weren't responding and explained that Thomas Plumbing hasn't previously done business with First Premier.
I called First Premier on 4-3-2023 and was placed on a long hold. When the operator returned, he blamed the plumber and said that they had never sent the report but that he had the report now and that I would know something the next morning. So today 4-4-2023 by 2:30 I gave up waiting and called the plumber company and was told that First Premier still hadn't responded to them, but they were adamant that the report had been sent the previous week after their visit. I then called back First Premier and was told that I was going to be sent a check, but I wouldn't be able to know the amount of the check for another 24 hours. They are saying that any repairs are my responsibility. I called back the plumber to see how much it will cost me to have them come do the repairs. I'm so frustrated with not having hot water for so long. They explained that it would be $600, and it will be a few days before they can come out. My husband was disturbed when I tried to reiterate all this and called First Premier when he got home from work. The operator said he couldn't divulge how much the check would be for so I don't know if I can afford to schedule with the plumber. My husband asked why First Premier didn't approve Thomas Plumbing to come do the repair and the operator explained that the repair cost from Thomas Plumbing included high labor charges and suggested that when we get our check, we find a different plumber. The operator is saying it will take 2 weeks to get us this mystery check. My husband asked if he could talk to a supervisor and was hung up on. My husband called back and the operator said sorry I must have disconnected you and then he hung up on my husband again! I just want my water heater fixed! I've had home warranty insurance with a previous company in the past and it was a blessing. This company has been just terrible, and I feel scammed. This experience has been nothing like the salesperson described.
