As an aspiring author, I was excited to find FirstEditing to assist me with the editing of my manuscript. However, my experience with them turned out to be deeply disappointing and frustrating, prompting me to share my negative review as a cautionary tale for potential customers. My initial interaction with FirstEditing started off on a positive note when I received a professional editing sample and was provided with an offer for Story Coaching and Developmental Editing at a reasonable price. Feeling confident in their services, I decided to proceed with them for the editing of my manuscript. To my astonishment, when I inquired about the pricing and attempted to place my order, the cost had suddenly skyrocketed without any justifiable reason. The price for the same level of editing, which was initially reasonable, increased significantly, leaving me bewildered and feeling deceived. This unjustified price increase left me with serious doubts about the integrity and transparency of FirstEditing's business practices. In addition to the pricing issue, the responses I received from their administrative staff, specifically from Kathy Hatter, were shockingly rude and unprofessional. Instead of addressing my concerns with empathy and understanding, I was met with condescending and dismissive replies. The lack of respect and courtesy shown in their responses only added to my frustration and disappointment. Furthermore, there were inconsistencies in the services offered, which raised concerns about their attention to detail and dedication to providing quality editing. The sudden change in editing levels and the failure to provide a valid explanation for the price increase left me with a sense of distrust in their commitment to providing excellent editing services. I had initially chosen FirstEditing because of their experienced editors, particularly Joanne, whom I was keen to work with. However, the whole experience has made me lose faith in the credibility of the team and their ability to deliver on their promises. In conclusion, my encounter with FirstEditing has been a regrettable one, marred by unjustified price increases, rude responses, and a lack of transparency in their business practices. As a potential customer, I would advise you to be cautious and consider other options before entrusting your valuable manuscript to FirstEditing. There are numerous other editing services available that are more reliable, transparent, and respectful of their clients. I hope my review serves as a warning and encourages FirstEditing to reevaluate their pricing policies and communication practices to provide a better experience for future customers.
